Our Secret Trip is in 4 DAYS!!

I cannot believe it is almost here! Our DD's still have NO IDEA!

We are leaving about 9:00 pm Friday night and driving ALL NIGHT from NC. They think we are going to Alabama, so they know we always drive at night on long trips so they can sleep.

I cannot wait to see the expression on their faces when they wake up Saturday morning and realize where we are.

We will be leaving from NC on Sat morning at 4 am for POP for 7 glorious nights. We also travel to AL to see my family several times a year. Do you know exactly how many hours from Charlotte to Disney? I map quested 9 hours and 15 min. Good luck with the surprise. My DD12 and DS9 are just as excited as I am about our trip.

Have a great trip. I wish I could pull that off with my DS's, but it makes it hard to when we fly from TX to Orlando. I was able to keep it a secret last year that we were doing MNSSHP, and they freaked out.

My parents did that to us on my first trip to WDW. They told us we were going to the beach in Florida, and then we went to WDW. I remember being in the parking lot, and we tried to get my parents to "hurry up" so we could go in. My parents told us we weren't going in, we were just going to look and see what we could from the parking lot. I may have just been 4, but I will never forget that trip.

We are in Asheville and Mapquest says 9 hours 9 minutes. BUT DH and I have found that Mapquest is usually a little off on the time. Last time we were in Orlando (At Universal, shhh) it only took a little over 8 hours.

How in the world are you able to keep it a secret??? We are leaving in 2 days , and there is so much Disney stuff around as I'm getting ready & packing. DS's would definately catch on that something is going on. More power to ya!!
Btw, we are in Raleigh, and it took us 8 hours last year. But this time we are flying- so it will only take 1 1/2 hrs
Anyway, have a wonderful trip- I'll keep a look out for other Dissers!

I was able to keep it secret simply because I did all the packing. LOL I did the laundry after work the night before we were leaving and just packed their suitcases (they both have small rolling bags), they had NO clue. LOL They were playing outside while I was doing that. After they went to bed DBF and I packed our stuff and then took it out and put it in the van, we were able to put everything in back behind the rear seats so the girls couldn't see it when we loaded up in the morning. We piled into the van (we told them that my DBF was with us because he and I were checking on our house-that was being rebuilt from a nasty house fire) and then we drove right past the sitters house, she already knew about the trip, and we drove 8 or 9 hours to Anaheim! LOL We drove down Harbor right past DL and CA to our hotel, checked in, got to our rooms and then we finally told them why we were there. LOL It was the BEST surprise ever!!!!! And actually, I'm still surprised I was able to keep MY mouth shut about it! LOLOLOL

Secret trips are cool. We don;t keep te trip secret just things that we are going to do, ie which of our favorite restaurants we are going to.
