Just got back from HD with my LGMH. Be at the ASM from 8-24 to 9-2 and proudly sporting my LGMH on my room door and on myself and everyone of my kids! Don't worry I married a non disney man too! So I just brain wash my kids to sing disney songs every time he is around!
Counting Down!!!!!!!!!! Teresa

PS How do I add a formal count down and my personal info (such as trips and kids ages to my post?) Sorry I'm a newbe

Will you be at Movies :3dglasses or Music :dance3: ? I'll be at movies in the Toy Story section from 8/26 - 9/2!! We have to meet or we have to stay according to disUnc! Shall we make a plan? :goodvibes

Happy B-day Nsalz !!!!!! I hope it's a great one! Will you actually do your celebrating on your Disney trip?

I am sorry to hear of your friends mom's passing Cyn - no real good words here (just good thoughts...) I know when my dad died I didn't want to hear much - but hearing "I''m sorry" always worked - it's pretty mcuh expresses a lot with a few words.... Plus, just being there, physically will mean the most to their family. Good friend. (ps - Im 14 too!!!! Guess that's 'cause we both grauduated HS in '83!!!)

This "clique" made me feel welcome from the git/go - little welcome banners and thrown pixie dust, and all! In fact, I was feeling kind of guilty for jumping right in..... but you kind and fun guys are hard to resist! So, Teresa, keep jumping in too - hey, whatever it takes to stay "sane" (huh?! I know some of us are anyway! Sorry DU!)

Oh lordy, so sorry!!! I sent this note out - all proud of my great composition and then it says "UNREGISTERED GUEST!!!" - silly me wasn't logged in anymore. Whoops.

Guess, I should have waited to claim it to see if anyone thought it was a dumb/silly/ INSANE note! :) :) :)

I enjoyed my fireworks last night but had some sad news upon returning home. My best friend's mom, who was like a second mom to me, passed away following surgery to treat cancer. She came out of the surgery ok on Sunday, but then had some complications that took her downhill very quickly. So, I will be gone most of the weekend for the services and to be supportive of my BF, who is the only sister I have ever had. My DS and my BF's DS are also BFs and have been looking forward for months to this big concert festival they're going to on Friday, and now this is going to put a huge damper on it as the services for BFDS grandma are on Saturday morning.

So sorry to hear this sad news! I'm holding back tears. I feel like all you guys are my friends, and I'm so sad that you are sad. :grouphug:

We'll be thinking of you over the weekend.

All I thought was "Oopsie! Someone forgot to log in! Hope they say who it was so I can say thanks for the kind words." :)

The interesting thing about our "clique" is that we are not exclusive. Sure, the same people mostly post over and over here, address each other by name, and confuse new posters, but we also never forget that our thread is on the "Welcome to the DIS" board, and we *are* welcoming. No one is ever ignored unless they just immediately express an unwillingness to know or care about the general topic of the thread (LGMHPC!!!) and we have a lot of young (low post count) members who come to feel like old pros here. Whereas we do kind of have our own language on this thread, I don't think we use it to alienate newcomers or make them feel as if they can't come into the fold.

You know, in terms of what the thread is mostly about (sure, there's a lot of chit chat, but we always come back to LGMHPC  ) and our language and abbreviations, perhaps we should have a FAQ that could be pointed to when people come along wanting to know what the discussion is about and what the heck we're saying when we type, for instance, "That HD CM caught me serpentining toward the LGMHPC, but I distracted him, swiped 22 anyway, got out to the parking lot to take inventory, and avoided DISjail" :lmao: We used to be able to say "Go back and read the thread"
readthis.gif
, but now that we're about 150 pages into it, that's getting be be a little unreasonable.

Well said Cindy! :thumbsup2

Thanks  I'll be thinking of you, too, because you'll be at DW having a lot of fun! :cheer2: Seriously, don't want to be a downer here. Sandi (BFs mom) was a wonderful lady who would tell us all to live life joyfully, so it makes me happy that we are all here talking about joyful things and that SOME OF US are headed to the ultimate in joy in just 1.5 days!!!

In her signature, TaraLee has those eggs that hatch on a certain date. Her most recent turned out to be a toaster. Sometimes people get unicorns or teddy bears and other cool stuff; other times they get weird things like a shoe or a...toaster! :teeth:
