our secret green club? Part 2

I'm so excited now, I'm getting anxious. I stopped the paper, and the mail, charged up my video camera and packed the charger, put the WDW tickets in my wallet. What am I forgetting?
My kids are out seeing The Lake House. They saw a half hour of it yesterday, then a transformer blew up at the mall (because of the heat, I guess), so they had to evacuate the building. They said the first half hour was pretty bad, but they were enjoying it because it was laughably bad. Hey, speak of the devil, they just walked in the door. I asked DS how it was. His response: ridiculous!

Omg.. I typed and typed.. then somehow the screen refreshed and my info was gone!

Ugh...
Now I have to make it shorter.. I'm tired!

Our problem with WL was the shower. It turned hot and cold.. and I mean REALLY hot. With multiple complaints and promises from them.. it was never fixed. There's more to it than just that.. they didn't offer to change our room until 2 days before we were leaving.. so not worth it. Yes.. I should have insisted on a room change from the first complaint.. but they had said it was a problem they knew about and it would be fixed that first night.. and I believed them. Then finding out it wasn't fixed the next day.. and getting a 'manager' saying she would personally send someone up (which they did.. there was a footprint in the shower, and it was very hard to turn the valve, like a man had tightened it very tight) and it would be fixed.. and I stupidly believed her again. Didn't find out again till next morning that it wasn't. Going down to directly complain and finding that no one knew what I was talking about.. later finding out it's all documented under my name and room number, so why did the front desk act like they had no clue?
Some things in between.. bottom line is it was never fixed. I had to stand by my daughter's side when she showered (I wouldn't even let her at first!).. They sent up a small gift pail to appologized... not once being able to take a comfortable shower.. and I truly feel they were never being honest with me. I will make a complaint. But, I wasn't going to spend precious vacation time arguing and chasing down the 'right' managers.. and I wasn't going to let them get me upset because that would just upset my DD. It was a constant frustration though.
That was annoying.. yes. But our vacation was still wonderful! The boat from WL to MK is fun and so convenient. They run at least every 15 minutes! My dd enjoyed the pool. It was very nice, unique, but pretty small I thought.
Our room was one of the renovated ones, though I think now they all are. It really needed better mousekeeping! There was dust everywhere! I dusted myself, except for the coffee maker. In plain sight on the vanity shelf.. very lighted area. I wrote the word "yuk" in the dust. It was never cleaned the whole time I was there.
The view was terrible.. but I won't complain about that since I got a standard view room I didn't pay for a view and I didn't expect or get one. It was over a loading dock. LOUD! Trucks beeping while backing up too.. if you went out on the balcony the smell of diesel fuel was very strong. We didn't use the balcony once. I just pretended that we got a room without a balcony since some standards don't have one. The glass doors provided great insulation though.. you could barely hear the noise with them closed. They didn't start until late in the morning and ended early at night.. so any noise didn't interfere with our sleeping.
I originally had a 'bad' view at AKL. I requested a 3rd floor arusha savannah, zebra trail. And I got the arusha rock itself! The viewing area of arusha rock looked directly into our room! Wouldn't have been able to keep the curtains open, never mind sit out there in my nightie!...lol. I requested and got a room further down. 1.5 buildings down and on the 4th floor since that's what they had. It was PERFECT! We sat out in our nighties every morning and some nights too! And I have to say that the mousekeeping was impeccable there! My tips reflected my appreciation. My dd also got 2 adorable towel animals. One was a chick, we agreed on that. The other I think is a rabbit.. she says it's an ankole cattle.. hmmm.

Anyway.. like I said.. I'm sure the should have that problem fixed, and it probably didn't effect too many people since the original person said that only 4 other rooms had complained. Anyone staying there.. just be sure you stay away from that area! Room 6052.

Don't remember if I said the parks were great cause they were! We really had a great time, even with the July heat and the crowds. There seemed to be a lot of irritable people there though. I felt pretty bad for some of the kids obviously being dragged around till the point of exhaustion. When my dd seemed overheated a couple of times, I just found an airconditioned place and we'd sit and rest for however long she needed. We took it pretty easy and still got to see and do everything. Of course we spend longer there than most people do. But even if we weren't there that long I wouldn't push her. We're there for her.. I want her to enjoy everything at whatever pace she needs.

I hope everyone going (and gone) has as good a time as we did!

Welcome back, Anc96!! It's good to hear you had a great time (aside from the mishaps). We really missed you, and some of us were doubtful that you spent your entire vacation in Orlando. Too many of us have gone to HD lately not only to find ALL the LGMHPC gone, but most of the other colors as well. We figured you were cruising the nation, hitting the HDs hard, all the while using the "I was at Disney World" alibi. Where were you on the night of....? :rotfl:

Yeah, this thread has gone nuts. 5000+ posts!! We finally had to come up with a FAQ to keep track of doin's around here (pg 216, post 3232). You'd think things would slow down considerably with DISUNC off to the motherland, but noooooo. We're clearly yakking it up as much as ever.

Good to see you again!

8 days Cyn you must be ready to bust. I am and I have 16 days left. I'm sure it will go by fast with all of our busy schedules. Take Care and stay off of your feet as much as possible. I'm sure that an impossible task in itself.
Super excited...yay Disney World!! There's a little damper on it today, though, with the freshly injured toe...hoping for enough recovery so as not to be a drawback to the family while we're there. I'm going to bed now, so hopefully that will help, too.

I play 1st mostly, but 3rd or catcher(groan) if they need me there. I don't play for my school team, but I play for my little league, and my dad is my coach(groan). My season wasn't that bad, but it was a weird year 'cause we combined with anothe league, and still only had 13 girls. But it was also the best season ever because I had a blast. the best game was when they bumped me up to the senior girls team because they needed players. WE still only had six, so I covered 1st and 2nd. The really cool part was that even with only 6 we still won! I can't pitch to save my life so more power to your DD!

This had to be the funniest and most fun game ever. I got there late and saw Lizzy playing 1st and second at the same time. It was hysterical!!!

So many games had been rained out and once these girls get older and have other activities/jobs, seems like so many games were cancelled this year. So these girls just wanted to play. :cool1: :cool1: Who needs 9 players on the field, they won with six! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

That sounds like it should have come from Pixiedust not Lizzyswan

I was sleeping. It's good that LizzY understands how things are supposed to work!!! I've trained her well!

Yeah, I have to work the next three days (and am dreading walk from the parking lot and the unavoidable stairs)and then I am off for 2.5 weeks. My DH didn't say much, heh. What could he say? Just "Bummer" and other commiseratory phrases. I think he figures 8 days is a long ways away and I'll be fine by then - and he could be right. It feels better after being off it awhile, but I know I have to keep taking care of it until we go or it won't feel better at all.

"commiseratory" Wow, are you an English professor or sumthin?

Hey ANC96, we also had some problems during the week of July 4th at WL (mousekeeping issues). Sharon Hays who is the manager of guest service operations took care of everything for us, but I did have to be persistant with the CM's in order to talk with her. E-mail Brian Britton (WL general manager) Brian.Britton@disney.com with your complaints

Hello Everyone!

We got back Saturday night (ok, Sunday morning)...

BUT...
Cynd!! You broke your toe?? NO! I'm so sorry that happened so close to your trip. Ummm.. I'm sorry it happened at all of course, but soooo close to your trip!
If you can, maybe you should get a prescription from your doctor for something stronger than just ibuprofin. Just in case. There is such an incredible amount of walking in the land... I would usually have problems without a broken toe! Of course this year I wore my crocs and I had no such problems (I'm going to contact Mr. Croc to thank him myself and beg to become the croc poster child... err, older (much) child.
You may find yourself very sore midday, or even at night making it hard for you to get needed sleep for the next day's walking. Having something strong might be helpful.

If things get really bad you can let it be known to all that you are THE "Lime Green Queen".. and all will come and carry you on a throne. I know you are normally against this kind of behaviour and rather be treated as we all are, but with a broken toe, you might have to give in just this once.

As for our trip.. it was mostly perfect! We had a problem with WL (I will be emailing Disney, apparently the ONLY way to complain)... and I 'lost' my wallet on the way to the airport returning home. That panicked me a bit... but it worked out. No money in it at all, just a couple of credit cards, my license (a quick trip to the DMV to replace it) aps for Disney & Sea World.. and my AAA card. Had to cancel everything, which was a little hassle, but I wasn't going to let it ruin the great vacation that we had. I'm actually having quite a time contacting someone at Disney who knows what to do. I'd finally been given an email address that was supposed to be THE thing to do.. and it doesn't work. It's a simple one and I'm sure all the spelling is correct. Anyway... if anyone can give me info on how to contact someone that could help me I'd appreciate it.

AKL was absolutely incredible as usual. We had a perfect arusha savanah view. The parks were great. A bit crowed, but utililzed the FPs well enough so we didn't wait much anywhere. Got to do Everest many times! I don't like coasters, but this was really nice (even though I screamed for my mommy  )

We met two different people from here. One was LuvChefMic .... we got to meet for the day at Epcot and had a really nice time. She got my daughter into Figment, whom I'd never heard of until that day. We are now proud owners of one small magnetic pawed figment, and 3 larger figments in different costumes (one as a skunk). Thank you Ruthie:)
We tried, but couldn't coordinate another meeting with her before she left :(

And, we shared a beautiful Wishes cruise with Steery1, his DW and DD, and with another very nice couple. They were leaving the next day to go back to Scotland. Hope they had a safe trip home.

As for any LGMHPCs... not a one!! NONE.. NADDA! How could that be???
I had mine on my baggallini. First few days it kept falling off, but I finally got it to stay on. I wasn't TOO lime green.. but you could see it if you looked... and I was looking.. and DD was looking... but nothing. Sigh!

I'm not much on doing trip reports.. look how long it took me just to post that I'm back. I might though.. or just ramble on here and there. I ramble well.

I can't possibly read everything you guys wrote the 17 days I've been gone, 5000+++ posts!!! If anyone has the cliff notes I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to all who have joined....

Glad to be back and sorry to be gone!

:welcome: back. Good thing you met other DISers to provide proof that you really went to the motherland. While you were gone DISers were getting shut out at HDs around the country. Seems like all HDs were out for awhile. We were pretty sure that you were actually going around the country swipin and were just usin' the motherland as an excuse!!!

Glad you had a good time and so sorry about your wallet, been there done that. I've had mine was stolen twice!!! Once from the law school library when I got up to take a drink from the water fountain, and once are you ready for this ....from church! We had rehearsal for the Sunday School Christmas pagent, and when I was up on the altar with my little preschoolers someone stole - not swiped- my wallet!

No, no exercise bike either! Gotta keep that foot elevated & stay off of it as much as possible atleast the first couple of days. Don't worry you'll be getting your exercise soon enough! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

:rotfl: I just told my dh last night I was gonna go to WDW w/o him. He said "I don't think so, I'm your lgmh supplier."

All I have to say to that is he'd better start supplying some more! Not to mention kicking in some of the other green !!! ;)

I went and picked up our Mickey's yesterday. The Home Depot had a ton of them but they were all behind another shade of green so i had to look. I took all the ones out (about a dozen) but they had more behind the little plastic door.

Thats one more thing off my trip list!

Omg, I'm sorry to hear about all the problems with the WL. Glad the AKL was much better. Really glad you all had a great time. Hope you can get some satisfaction from WL though.

When we were at the cabins twice we had problems with the plumbing being clogged. :guilty: The day before we left the maids came into our rooms & apparently searched through all of our stuff-- they left all of the cabinets open. My dh immediately called the managers, talked to them several times. On the day we left he spoke to them again & went inside to check out even though we had arranged for an advanced check out. They offered us an extended stay for the day which we refused & they ended up taking $100 off of our bill. My dh can be very persistant when he wants to be! :smooth:
