We have a club at work. Today we're having a luau. Got lei'd this morning when I came in. What a way to start the day! We're having (non-alcoholic) blender drinks, fruit, appetizers, & cake. We even have the little mini umbrellas. Of course we'll be limboing later.

for all of you that suffer from birthday Dyslexia or those of you that have turned 19 again this year:


Today is my grandmother's birthday. She's 61. it's a tradition in our family for the person on their birthday to pass wisdom down to younger members of the family. when i called this morning this is what i got:


"i was reading a magazine yesterday and they had some BS story about people having plastic surgery. don't do it. enjoy getting older. Even the wrinkles. hopefully, you get wealthier. hopefully, you'll have a family and friends. That's what's important. Well, that and pushing my wisdom on all you kids. because i'm a ton smarter too."

not a birthday club, but every once in awhile we have hawaiian luau friday. Employees get lei'd when they come in...and we give out lei's or wristlets to little kids that come in.

Jimmy Buffett, Beach boys and Kenny Chensey music all day!

plus we have a whole box of decorations that are packed away...palm trees, tropical hanging birds, etc.

shhhhhhhhhh........my mom's birthday is next week.....she's going to be 38!!

she's still one that tries to convince people that her birthday doesn't exist anymore. but she's got me for a daughter, so that's not likely to happen anytime soon.

Wow, sounds like fun. I did bring Jimmy Buffett in! It's not a party w/o Jimmy!

We can't do all of that partying. I work for the Fed. Gov. , we were able to stretch our 15 min break into 30! Now I don't want to work anymore.

I hope things are looking up there. It is hard when one's child is not feeling well. done the hospital dance myself way to many times with my oldest & my hubby, the king of unknown illiness . Big hugs & lots of prayers coming from this end!

Did my cruise into the local HD to get me some more LGMH and ya know what!! ANC96 has been here too! There weren't any greens but the froggy one! So now I have to drive farther to see what I can find at the other store. Don't know what this world is coming to when they take all of MY LGMH's!

No buzzkill! 38 is super-cool. because:

you're still young enough to shop at the mall and be cool.
but you're old enough to have wisdom and some money in the bank (hopefully! )
