This is our first family trip to Disney World! Our daughter turned 5 in January and our son will be two months shy of age 3 when we go in April. We are a young family who likes a fun environment ....if the kids are happy and entertained, then we are happy and can relax a little :) .
We are arriving Sunday afternoon and are doing parks Monday-Friday (MK, AK, Epcot, hS, MK). Here is what i have so far (we are doing the dining plan)...

Sunday night - Dinner at Chef Mickey (i heard the food wasnt super, but do you think seeing mickey and friends the first night and arriving on the monorail will be exciting enough to look past food?)

Monday - Breakfast in hotel, Lunch ?, Dinner ?

Tuesday - Breakfast in hotel, Lunch ?, Dinner at Rainforest Cafe

Wednesday - Breakfast in hotel, Lunch ?, Dinner Norway Princesses

Thursday - Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine (disney Jr characters) Lunch ?, Dinner ?

Friday - Breakfast ?, Lunch ?, Dinner ?

Girl, your kiddos are going to be SO excited, it honestly wont matter WHAT Chef Mickey's is serving. Go for the fun of eating with the characters!

I always suggest eating at 'Ohana just because I love it, but then again I also don't have kids so I don't know how kids would take to it.

Check out the Sci-Fi Dine In and the 50's Prime Time Cafe, both at HS. I adore them both and definitely see how they'd appeal to kids :)

I would do Akershus as a breakfast or a lunch, but that's JMO :thumbsup2

MK - Crystal Palace for Breakfast - Pooh and Friends.

HS - Sci-Fi Dinner Theatre

Epcot - Coral Reef

Are you on the regular dining plan or the deluxe? I'm going to assume you are on the regular one though....and give you some favorite counter service places too :).

I would do Crystal Palace for lunch at MK or Kona for lunch or dinner.
We really like Pecos Bill and Columbia Harbour House for counter service at MK. Or Casey's has yummy hot dogs. A lot of people really like Cosmic Rays, but personally I really don't care for it.

We like the Pizzafari cs at AK. Tusker House is one of our favorite Disney buffets and I know breakfast and lunch have characters now...not sure about dinner.

At Epcot, the Sunshine seasons has a lot of different options and is very good. We also really like fish & chips from the England cs or Marrakesh plates in Morocco.

We like the ABC commissary at HS.

Again, Crystal palace, Kona, Ohana, 1900 Park Fare (mixed reviews on food but the characters are fun at dinner).

HeyMeg;!
Welcome to the Dis ! I am hoping you are coordinating your ressies with the parks... it looks as though you are...
Mon: MK hopefully. We LOVE Cosmic Ray's CS
Tues AK Rainforest Cafe. Great Atmosphere ! Y&Y is nice if you like PF Changs and a Wonderful Asian atmosphere
Wed: EPcot... Alkershus... Sunshine seasons is a great CS location at The Land....
Thursday: H&V: I'm wondering if you switch H&V to the Lunch option if you can get the Fantasmic Dining package. It doesn't cost more but it saves you time waiting in the Fantasmic line and I highly recommend it...

Also for DHS ... there are Wonderful CS options right near TOT and RNR... Sunset Market. The seating is outside but you have Wonderful selections from several different CS meals......

I happen to LOVE the 'Ohana Character Breakfast at the Polynesian - that would be an MK day option.

Have a magical visi t!
Mary

When my kids were small they loved: Sci Fi, O'hana, Coral Reef, Teppan Edo, Rainforest Cafe, Crystal Palace, and Planet Hollywood. If the dinasour restarant would have been open in downtown Disney, I bet they would have enjoyed that also.
