Our Pre-Trip Easter WDW Vacation Report

Well I decided that I would start one of these Pre-trip reports to contain my excitment!! DH & I leave for our WDW trip on April 4th, we are leaving after work to drive to Moncton where we will be staying over night and on April 5th we are catching our early 6am direct flight to Orlando

The Cast:
Me, DW and teacher
DH and lawyer

Here's my story:

For many years I can remember begging and pleading with my parents to go to WDW. I can remember praying every year that this would be the year. Alas, it never happened Don't get me wrong, I had many wonderful family vacations with my parents...washington, boston, Bermuda (twice!!) and many more but I always wanted to meet the mouse

Fast foward to the year 2001 when I meet my wonderful boyfriend, now hubby!! We went through university together, and then in September 2004, he finally popped the question I was so happy, then to make it even better this parents, the wonder Inlaws that they are said "For your wedding gift you can have money or a trip to DR or WDW" Needless to say that before DH could get out the word WDW I started jumping on the bed screaming "I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD, I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD" like a little child.

Our wedding was May 7th, 2005 and it was perfect. Our first trip together was May 8-16th 2005 on our honeymoon and I couldn't imagine it being anywhere else Thinking we wouldn't be able to go again for at least 5 years, DH surprised me last month when he said that we could go again this year becaue he found an amazing deal !!! Needless to say I didn't mind!!! So now, we get to go on another adventure during easter with the mouse.

I know it'll be busy this time of year...but I don't care!!!

April 5th- ARRIVAL DAY -Get to Orlando at 9am

Pick up rental car, check in at hotel
Do some Disney Outlet Shopping
Hit Epcot around 2pm. (Future World)
Stay until 6pm.
Hit MK
DUMBO, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, tea cups and haunted manison are a must!!!
Dinner: Cosmic Ray's(Quick Meal so we won't waste too much time eating..lol)
Evening: Watch Wishes at 9pm
Stay at Park until closing 12am!!(new hours!!)


April 6th-Animal Kingdom/MGM

Eat Breakfast before park opens.
Arrive at 8am sharp.
AK Must: Expedition Everest (they were building this when I was down last)
Lunch:Tusker House
Bus to MGM
MGM Must: RnR, ToT, Beauty & The Beast Live
Dinner: Starring Rolls
Evening: Fantasmic! 10 pm showing

April 7th- "Universal" Day
I've never been!!
Food: Meal Deal Pass: $20/pp

April 8th –Easter Sunday!! Epcot
Epcot in morning. (World Showcase)
Stay until we see what we want to see, or haven't already been on from previous day.
Lunch: Electric Umbrella (Epcot)
Depending on time back to MK (just because I LOVE it!!!)
Dinner: Unknown
Back to Epcot for Illuminations-9pm showing

April 9th- Islands of Adventure
I've never been, either has DH!!
Meal Deal Pass: $20/pp

April 10th/April 11th-This, That and Everything Else
These days will be for what we haven't seen, or want to see on this trip. It could be WDW or Universal or Islands of Adventure. We have the 7 day Park Hopper from WDW and 7 days from Universal (Only because these 2 were the cheapest choice and gives us some flexiblity)

April 12th-Leave

another trip--we haven't left for this one yet!"
I love planning and Disney dreaming!

Stay at Park until closing 11pm!!

WDW just announced an extra hour. The park closes at 12 and if it is a EMH, it will be open till 3:00 a.m.

What kind of deal did your dh get. I couldn't find a thing for a discount, unless he used AAA. Maybe see you down there. I will be at Epcot on your day. Go to Home Depot and go in the Pain Dept. They have color samples for Disney in the shape of Mickey heads. People attack them to their back-packs, so we identify other Dis members. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks! I had already printed the hours off and taped them into my Passporter--I would have never thought about going back to recheck them.

Oh no, my fingers are sticky from gluing LGMH together. My DD10 and I just made some nice Happy Easter posters for the room with them too (she wanted purple ones also!)
My mom called to ask what we were doing: "uh, well, we are gluing little green Mickey heads that we "borrowed" from Home depot to our green Focker Watcher lanyards and room posters so that other DISers will see us............"

She says there is probably a support group for this! (I already have one!)

My ds-19 saw me in Home Depot taking some paint sample mickey heads, and he told his dad, I have Disney on my brain 24/7. I told him what I was doing-he just nodded his head. My kids are going to help me when I get home with my withdrawal.

Well, my DD13 just said that my "#1 DISer" that I wrote on the LGMH really meant that I was being DISrespectful to people....?dis-ing???
Hmmmm, I still like it.

DH agrees that we picked the best week with extended hours to go (although Easter is a busy time...I don't care!!) I am getting so excited, I can't believe that I am going to be there in 5 days!!! Yippie!

OhMari- DH & I got a deal off selloffvacations.com...airfare, hotel and rental car for 1 week for $1338 CDN (that's both of us and all txs included) We are staying at Best Western Lakeside and it was ranked #18 out of 160 hotels in the Kissimmee area!!! (on tripadvisor)

You really did get a great deal. I am going from the 6th -14th, and will be at Epcot on Easter Sunday too. I will look for you, I don't think I can miss the young woman doing cartwheels through the WS!

On Sat. the 7th, right before the Spectro parade. I see you will be at Universal, for shame, for shame, (no just kidding). I am a little worried tough. Steve Soares site says Lomira h.s. band will be marching at 7:00 p.m. and our band director said between 8:00-8:30 p.m. I sure don't want to miss it. We will be eating supper at Lands End Buffet over at the the Wilderness Camp ground at 6:00 and it takes at least 30 minutes to get over by boat, so we will be cutting it pretty short.

Well folks...I am back from WDW and very, very sad!!! I miss it already....as my ticker shows I am already in the planning stages of my next trip for March Break 2008....it is just TOO far away...umm...maybe we'll go at Xmas instead?? I wonder which time is less busy and less expensive?

They were all there the same time!
DH says he won't go over spring break anymore (too crowded), so got to come up with Plan B. One lady in line said it was the same crowds as last Christmas, so I guess he won't go then either....
January would be nice, but my DD will be in high school so that might be tough. Any suggestions???
