About a month and a half ago DH and I decided that February 26th was just too far away for our next Disney trip so we decided to take a few days and get a warm up Disney trip in. We got airfare for $127.50 RT PP so we decided to get away for a long weekend. Below is my short and sweet trip report.

Cast: Me 31, DH 34 and DD 2

Wed Feb 2nd. We left for JFK around 2:30pm and arrived at the airport at 3:45pm. Since our flight didn't leave until 5:10pm we let DD run around the termial. There's a nice little "caged" in area where she could run back and forth and not escape. It was our first time on Delta Song and I was pretty excited that they sold martinis. We boarded the plane and got DD's DVD player all set for the flight. About 15 minutes into the flight the flight attendants came around and I got an appletini and a chicken caesar salad. They were both quite yummy and the martini came in a martini glass. I had to get another one. I started playing trivia against the other passengers and started getting competitive after my second appletini. I wanted to beat one of the passengers up that was neck and neck with me but I couldn't leave my martini to go find her seat. :drinking1
We got into Orlando airport at about 7:30pm and went to get our rental car. We are so glad we chose Dollar cause there were a million people waiting at some of the other agencies. We picked up our SUV and were on our way to POFQ. We checked in around 9pm and DD loved coloring at the table. I liked the band that was there. This resort was much more lively than CSR. We went to the room to unpack and get ready for the morning.

Thursday Feb 3rd
Woke up around 8am checked the weather which seemed to be overcast and chilly so we got on our shorts and sweatshirts and headed over to the MK. This was a great day at the park. The longest line was 5 minutes. The sun came out around 1pm and the sweatshirts came off. It was a beautiful day and when we left the park at about 5pm we went back to the resort and DH and DD swam. I drank two Mardi Gras TNT's and was quite happy sitting on the lounge chair. DD loved the water slide. Although she is only two, she is fearless. DH would go up the stairs with her he would sit her down behind him, he would then go down the slide and call for her to follow him, she would then proceed to give him her devlish smile, turn herself around so her legs were facing down and her butt was in the air push herself and come flying down the slide backwards. We tried not to laugh when we told her that she had to come down on her tush, but it was quite funny that she would even know how to do that on the slide. We had a carriage ride set for 8:30pm around the resort. The weather was great. T-shirt and jeans and we were quite warm. The ride was pretty and the grounds are very nice. I'm thinking of booking another one for Fort Wilderness for when we go back in 3 weeks.

Friday Feb 4th We woke up about 7am and got ready for MGM. The weather stunk. I felt like we were back in Connecticut. Cold and cloudy. We put on jeans, sweatshirts and a blanket in DD's stroller. Again there were hardly any lines and the park. Ate lunch at the 50's primetime diner. It was yummy and we enjoyed getting scolded by our waitress. :teeth: We left the park around 2pm and walked to the Boardwalk and then into Epcot. Did I mention it was cold!?! :cold: It was a nice walk even though I thought my fingers were going to fall off. Once in Epcot DD fell asleep in her stroller. I love it when she does that. The sun came out and DH and I got some beers and walked around the World Showcase so I could get my exercise in.
:cheer2: + :drinking1 = one happy girl when she tries to put her jeans on the next day. For as much as I ate and drank walking all day and night really helps me not hate myself the next day :teeth: speaking of eating, we went back to the resort and ate at the food court.

Saturday Feb 5th Got up for our character breakfast at Chef Mickey's put on jeans and sweatshirts and headed out. We had a great breakfast and DD loves kissing all the characters :love2: went back over to the MK and there were a million people there. Thank goodness we did almost everything on Thursday. We stayed for a few hours and when the sun came out we headed back over to the resort to swim. Well, DH and DD swam I had to try some more Mardi Gras TNT's :rolleyes1 . We then went to visit our friends who live in FL and had a nice dinner at their house. We stayed for a few hours until I realized DH booked our flight for 7am the next morning. :earseek: that meant we had to be up at 4am. Now I know why I always make the travel plans. Anyhoo we got up and made it to the airport with 1/2 hr to spare. Played some more trivia on the plane and made it home by 12pm. Now I'm ready to go back.
Sorry, I just realized that I said this trip report was gonna be short and sweet!!

you did alot in the short visit and that is all that matters.........we froze in December too......hot day and then cold day......thanks again for your report :sunny:

Cute report - your family and mine are exactly the same age and I can just picture your DD coming down the slide with that grin on her face. DD also loves snuggling with the characters - her favourite is Tigger - what about your little one?
I am always trying to talk DH into little mini trips when Buffalo has seat sales (last one was for $25! pp) but alas - nothing until this December.

Have fun in three weeks! Be sure to post a report - I can live vicariously though your post and imagine it is us! :)

I'm glad you liked the trip report. I know it's not as entertaining as some I've read but I try. :teeth:
DD loves Goofy and calls him "Goopys". DH and I also get a kick out of everytime we think she's asleep in her stroller and we have the canopy up we then pass a popcorn cart and the canopy comes flying back, her little head comes up and she starts screaming "popcorn" "popcorn" she doesn't miss a thing. Our next trip in 3 weeks is a family trip and my two nephews ages 9 and 4 are coming with us along with my brother and sister in law. I can't wait to see DD and my nephews running around together.
You mentioned our families are the same. do you ever notice that families with only one child are in the minority and it is so more pronounced at Disney. I love having only one child so we can spoil the heck out of her. :teeth:
