I read on a thread somewhere about helping your kids incase they get lost. Well my 7yo DS LOVES to wander off! For our trip to WDW each of our 2DS, the other 9yo, will have a fanny pack. (Coleman kids, so it is nice & roomy) In their pack they can put their goodies needed for the day & a two-way radio! We have 3 of them & don't figure they will get used much anyway so this way mom or dad will have one & everyone has been instructed, "If we get seperated, stay where you are, turn on your radio, and call us" Hope this works!

That sounds like a great idea. :D I would probably go to the mall and let the kids test them out so they get a feel for them. That way if they do get seperated from you at WDW they won't panic and forget how to use the radio.

We already use them at the mall, & at home for various reasons so they are pretty comfortable with them. They also know if they aren't getting a response from us to find the nearest CM.

Where did you find the fanny pack for kids? I've been looking all over for them! Thanks!:)

I've seen the kids coleman ones in the camping section of Target.

We have tried to dress our 2 DD's in the same color top - it helps to keep track of them. We also have "parent for the day". We switch back and forth from one day to the next, so DD1 is with me while DD2 is with hubby, then the next day we switch. The assigned parent is responsible ONLY for that child. It takes away the "I thought you were watching DD2", "No, I thought YOU were" etc. We also assign special "fun" tasks to certain parents. So when the are with DH then get to open all doors with room key, watch for buses at bus stops, etc. When wilth me they get to push elevator buttons, plan the day with Mom, etc. You also sit on all rides and at restaurant with your partner - now the kids can choose to sit together - but they both have to agree. I can't tell you how well this system has worked for our 3 trips to WDW. We never have any fighting, and you really enjoy the child you are with and are happy to be with the other child the next day. We try to plan so that our time in the MK DD2 is with Dad , as she is scared of some of the rides - but will go if she can be with Daddy. DD1 and I are both more daring that DD2 or DH.

What a great idea DeDixie! I especially like the room key & elevator part. I will definitely have to work on a plan like that!
