Our Pictures from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween DIS Party on October 5!

Not to be a wet blanket, but maybe we shouldn't corral people into dressing a certain way. JMHO. I've never been to MNSSHP and I thought it'd be fun to make a dress for the party. Sure it's a princess dress, but that means I wouldn't be able to wear one of those LG shirts. :confused3 I guess what I'm saying is that half the fun of going to MNSSHP (I assume) is dressing up in a costume. There's no reason why we still can't design and make shirts for the event, but I think having a dress code is going a bit overboard. :guilty:

Gosh, you guys must think I'm such a party pooper! :rotfl2:

I think the main reason a lot of us like the t-shirt idea is because it's an easy and inexpensive thing for everyone to do to be able to have a costume to wear. Plus, it'll be quite fun and enjoyable to have our entire group in matching outfits. This will help for us to keep together as a group around a crowded theme park too and not lose one another. Plus, I'm sure we will take many group photos and I think it'll add to the fun of the event! I know it would make for a pretty cute group photo! Obviously, no one will force it on you as a dress code because that's not at all what it is or why we came up with the idea. It's a way to bring us DIS'ers all together as a group!

I understand. :grouphug: Thanks for responding. I'm sorry if I'm being difficult ... I was really just trying to voice a concern of mine. And I agree -- everyone in their lime green would make an awesome group photo! :yay:

Awww dont worry Jenny! The Princess theme is for anyone who wants to do it. You dont have to by any means. Sorry we didnt really make that clear. As lindsey said its just an inexpensive fun idea. But you definatly dont have to wear a lime shirt or dress up in the princess theme if you dont want to. We will have a blast no matter what everyone decides to dress up as!

I agree he should wear a shirt! ;) Its halloween and he wont feel out of place. But if he really doesnt want to wear it we wont force him. lol

And I Totally love the prince theme. They could totally have their own logo! This is gonna be awesome!

Oh trust, me. . .this guy is the most easy going, positive guy you will ever meet! He's my angel on earth. And you're right. . .I would never force him to wear something he didn't want to. I was kidding around with that post. I tend to do that sometimes! :teeth:

I love the prince theme too! Though I must tell you. . .James would rather say he is a knave. The man is just so humble! He's really wonderful!

Oh, heck no! You're not a party pooper at all. You're just voicing your opinions and being sensitive to other people's needs and you have every right to do that! :goodvibes

After some fiddling around with schedule, I think we can do the dinner with you folks that Friday before MNSSHP.

How do I add to the list - will be me (Lucincia, yes, female-sounding name - long story), DW, DD8 ad DD4.

We will also have group of friends with us - 2A and 1C in one family and 2A and 3C in another (we suckered them into joining us in WDW this time). But, not sure if they'll join us or not @ LTT. Might freak them out. They think hanging around one Disney planning fanatic is enough, let alone a big group ....

Hey everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! :teeth:

Well, I made it through the audition and I am happy to say that I am still alive! :rotfl2:

Friday was an absolute disaster, however. Everything that could have gone wrong did! I learned that you NEVER go to the mall the day before an audition to look for an audition outfit! We were at the mall for 4 hours trying to find one measly outfit. We finally found it, but we (James and I) were exhausted, when we should have been resting in our hotel and me practicing! Second, I went to bed very early, around 9 p.m. and I COULD NOT FALL ASLEEP! I got a huge migraine headache and nearly threw up because of the severe pain. Poor James was such a trooper, going to get me Advil and keeping cold compresses on my head and talking to me to take my mind of the pain. By this time adrenaline (from being nervous about my audition) had taken over and I did not fall asleep until 2:30 a.m.. I had to wake up at 5:00 a.m. to get ready and make it to UNT by 7:00 for check-in. I had never been so exhausted in my life! In my exhaustion, I dropped my facial cleanser in the toilet - ARRRRGGGHHHH! I nearly lost it. And THEN I forgot to bring hair conditioner and the hotel didn't have any either - we had NO time to go buy any. So I had to hairspray my flyaways down as best I could! :rotfl2:

Once we made it past all the disasters, we were off to UNT and everything went perfectly! God was really with me today. My practice runs through my solo went perfectly, I hit all my scales and I was confident! My audition came at 11:30 this morning and I am happy to say I PLAYED THE FIRE OUT OF MY SOLO! I have never played a better audition in my life and my judge panel were so pleased with my playing.

Now it's not official yet (not until I get my acceptance letter), but the Dean of the Music Department, who was on my judge panel, told me at the end of my solo, "Well done. We look forward to having you here in the fall." My sister, who attended UNT for a year to sing opera, told me that means I AM IN! WHOO-HOO! :woohoo: I have worked so hard for this moment and I am absolutely elated and exhausted at the same time! I am GOING TO UNT! YAY! :yay:

Okay, sorry that was so long (& probably boring), but I just had to share my excitement! I can't tell you what attending UNT means to me. There is another long story behind it, but I won't bore you with that! :rotfl2:

And on another (sad) note, my mini-pincher Rocky, who is 11 years old, had been coughing alot lately so my parents took him to the vet while I was auditioning. They found out that he has congestive heart failure and he is now on heart medicine. The vet said he could still live another 4-5 years, but I was just crushed to hear this news. Rocky is the sweetest, most tender-hearted dog I have ever met in my life and it just isn't fair that he has to suffer with this now. And it just makes the reality of him dying one day hit that much closer to home. So I am going to just love him even more and never take him for granted. I want him to know just how much he is loved, and let me tell you, this dog is one loved dog!

Okay, I am done now, I promise! We are now one day closer to our DIS Meet!

Have a great day tomorrow!

Hi Carol,
Awesome about your audition!!! I bet you did make it in, even though there were a few complications before hand, the best is yet to come!!! Can't wait to hear you got your letter.
On a sad note, I am so sorry to hear about Rocky, that is sad, I will keep him and all of you in my prayers. You know what a dog lover I am, so that is really sad to me. :grouphug: Keep me updated on him and you.
Like you said, we are one day closer to our DIS meet, we are going to have so much fun. I can't wait!!!:goodvibes

I'm so pleased your family will be joining us! :thumbsup2 And although I understand your concern about freaking out your friends with the mass of DISers @ LTT (I know sometimes we're taken better in small doses), I think it's going to be a great chance for everyone to get acquainted over some delicious food. So please don't hesitate to invite them if you think it's a dinner they'd enjoy!

Ohhh where in MA are you from? I use to live in Merrimac (right next to Haverhill where my grandparents live).

Hi tinkerbell!
I am living in Agawam right now, but grew up in Rutland, MA. I can't wait to get together with all of you!

Sounds good! I dont think anyone is actually dressing up as a princess. Just the lime green shirt and maybe BBB hair for some! So dont worry its going to be a blast!

It sounds like you have a BIG group on your own! :) Cheryl brought this to my attention and I had already begun to think about it too. It is almost impossible to all sit together for a dinner reservation if there are many people in the group. You can make a reservation at the same time for everyone, but we will most likely be separated at different tables near each other. That's pretty much how it works. My wedding party of 16 was separated at two different round tables for our meals. If you have a large party of your own and want to say hello and join a little of the DIS dinner festivities, you may want to make a reservation around the time we do separately if you like, since you do have children attending too. LTT doesn't have many large tables, but they do have a few large round tables that can hold up to 8 people. I just want everyone to make sure that this will be how it works, so you know what to expect when we arrive. There are many people coming solo, who are going to want to join their DIS buddies, but if you are coming with your own group, family, etc. You may want to sit at your own table. It's really up to you and whatever you want to do. I'm just giving everyone the heads-up and different options. :thumbsup2

I'm dressing up as a princess, actually. princess:  As if my height wasn't reason enough for people to stare at me!
