This was our 3rd WDW trip for our PAP year! I have always wanted to experience the Fireworks at MK and got my Disney Wish granted!!

Packing for this trip, we took a bit of everything, from swimsuits to winter coats! It never got really warm enough to swim, but the winter coats came in handy!

12/29 We leave ATL at about 5am on sat. It's about 40 degrees when we leave. Really made great time going down. We reserved this trip about 9 months ago with Hilton Honor Points (85,000 for 5 days), so the cost was FREE! We arrive at the Hampton Inn at 1:30pm but the room is not quite ready. We went across 192 to get snacks/drinks and some Baskin Robbins icecream. At 2:30 we got in our room on the ground floor, which was great! (no elevator waiting for the free morning breakfast!) After an afternoon rest, we were on our way to Cape May Seafood buffett. It was about 70 degrees, but it was due to go down into the 50's so we opted for t-shirts, our hooded sweat jackets and jeans. The buffet was good (ribs, clams and deserts, expecially the flan!) but the bucket of crab legs ($12 for 3 clusters) was very dry and covered with Old Bay seasoning. We had planned to go to DQ but decided to go to MGM and catch the last Fantasmic show. We got in the TOT line and had to wait about 45 min. My DS's wern't too crazy about it, the are FP spoiled! I got in line for Fantasmic while the DS's and DH did Star Tours. I got in the back center of the theater to tape Fantasmic. I'm doing this and other shows/parades we have been to this and next year. The show was great as usual but my camcorder viewfinder said "TAPE END" the last minute or so of the show!! Still had just enough tape to catch it all!!

12/30 My DH had a golf date set with his cousin so my DS's and I did IOA/US. It was forcasted to be a 70 degree day so we started out with shorts and tees and took our jackets with us! My goal today is to see all 3 "Grinchmas" epsiodes and the tree lighting. My DS's is to ride both fire and ice rollercosters. We start out over to the Hulk coaster to get "EP-Express passes" for my DS1 and Superman EP for all of us, all in the 3-4pm hrs. We rode the "Storm Force Aceletron" once with a short wait. I decided to hit the first two "Grinchmas" epsiodes earlier so we could do our ES's later. While watching the first one I got ES for the Seuss attractions. We were doing cat in the hat when it broke down and had us stuck in the EP while the 2nd show started! Harump!! We did catch the end of the 2nd show and I put the kids on "one fish two fish twice and did the "snow mountian" I had them ride the caro-seuss-el a couple of times while I waited in line at "Green eggs and Ham" for lunch. And Waited...and Waited...the kids came back...and I waited! It was almost 40 min when I finally got 3 cheeseburgers, fries, rings and drinks. Was ok food but not worth the wait! As I was checking My fanny pack I noticed my Spiderman EP's were missing!! I had to dig into my Fanny pack for a nose wipe for DS1 and they must have fallen out! I went back to CITH and asked if they might have been turned in. The "cast member" there (still don't know what to call them) was VERY nice. He contacted the lead for the superman ride and got me a "verbal" EP for the ride!

We headed over to let DS1 do his HULK passes. He was a smidge too short last summer to ride, but passes the height test this time. He really enjoyed it and rode 3 times! DS2 and I rode Dr. Doom's Fearfall 3 times. Then we all rode Superman! This is still the best ride to me of all the parks we go to! Off to Deuling Dragons! My DS's rode both coasters with a relatively short wait, just a walk thru the "castle" queue. Then back to see the Grinchmas treelighting at 5:30. I had bought a refillable popcorn bucket ($4.99 initial purchase and $1.50 for refills!) and we refilled it 4 times during the day! It was begining to get cool so we treaked back to the car for jackets and moved it a little closer to the exit prior to going to US. We did most of the Movie rides, including Jaws and Kong. We missed the Nick and Barney areas and MIB. We ate at Captian Quints Seafood. A little too breaded for my taste but good warm food on a chilly night, without a wait!

I got turned around headed out of the parking lot and it ended up being an hour's drive to get back to the Hampton inn!

More on Part 2!

get in line and that is it.....what a way to go......I could watch Fantasmic a zillion times and enjoy it each and every time.....thanks again for the report

Sounds great so far! Thanks for sharing your report.

I am a Disney-maniac (as DH says), but would like to try Universal someday!

I love Islands of Adventure. Spiderman is absolutely awesome :) Better 3D effects than anything Disney has to offer (I hope that isn't blasphemy) ;)

I enjoyed reading about your day. I didn't visit IofA when I was at DISCON and I think I regret that very much. I would like to see the christmas shows there someday.
