Our Not So Merry Disney Vaca

Thank you :D

We live in London, its cool but busy and bustling, am always saying how I hate London, but you know when you move away you will miss it straight away.

Can't wait to start planning our next trip :D

OH Stefy, I just got caught up and am so bummed out. You poor girl I don't even have words to say how bad I feel for you. I guess just look forward to planning your next trip. I wanted to mention I visit in April for my birthday the 23rd. It seems to be a good date we beat the Easter crowds and the end of school May crowds. So maybe you could look at those dates. I know when we go next week we have 7's and 5's this is sandwiched between 10's and 8's. Sounds like Dave is a good husband material!!!

The Doubletree was nice because after we put the kids to bed we could sit in the living room with our friends and hang out (we didn't have ajoining rooms, but our rooms were next to each other and we brought a baby monitor). It was also nice when my brother came with us, he slept on the sofa. Also, since we like to go to DTD in the evenings, we liked being able to walk there and back. But you don't get magic hours and if you do early morning meals in the parks, you'll probably have to cab it to get to your reservation on time (we took lots of cabs, although there are buses from the hotel that work fine).

Thanks for the info - I wonder why they don't do EMH? Are they not directly affiliated with Disney, even though they are in the resort?

It still sounds nice, though. You get a suite, w/out paying a whole lot for it. I like that the bedrooms and living area is separated. Does it have a kitchen or kitchenette?

Double Tree is not a Disney resort and it is not on Disney Property. It happens to be near DTD. The only resorts that are allowed EMH are Disney resorts only.

Oh, I thought it was! Oops! :rolleyes1

It still seems like a lovely place to stay and quite reasonable being so close to Disney. Definitely worth looking into.

My aunt and uncle have stayed there several times and really liked it. They don't like paying onsite prices when they can get the suite room at the Double tree. They also like driving their own vehicle to each of the parks.

One of the downtown area hotels (I can't remember if it's the Hilton or the Marriott, but I think it's the Hilton) gets to use the EMH.

*Ahem* why thank you ;) It wasn't a bother at all, I enjoy taking care of her when she gets sick. Not because I like seeing her ill, but because for once it means she is depending on me! :rotfl:

On designated days, a Walt Disney World theme park will be open an hour early and three hours later for Disney Resort guests only and includes guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan/Dolphin Hotels and the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort.

Just wanted to paste that since I mis-spoke before.

I haven't posted yet. . . but I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed reading your trip report. I am so sorry that you had to end your trip sick. It seems like I always have a sick child by the end of vacation - this includes my husband! I loved reading about the couple buying your dinner. Those type of stories always raise my spirits!

Congrats on the engagement! I'll be looking forward to your next report!
