Well technically what I had was Trader Joe's Marinated lamb tips wrapped in Naan bread with Tzatziki (yogurt and cucumber sauce), tomato, onion and cucumber chunks. But generally souvlaki is sone kind of lamb chunks although it can be made with chicken as well. It's a Greek sandwich. It was really good and I was given the green light to make it again.
Sounds like a plan! As long as you don't mind cats! A gyro is ground beef and lamb formed into a loaf and then roasted on a spit. The meat is sliced and served. Souvlaki is the meat cut in small pieces and then served. They are very similar in that the same topping go on the sandwiches. Just the meat is prepared a little differently in each one.
