Yep, she will be kenneled when we visit some parks, but will probably be used in World Showcase when we are doing more casual touring.

But we will have her each evening with us for things like Downtown Disney, looking at decorations, etc.

Of course, she will also be one more body in an All Stars Resort sized room

I know that you miss Rebecca. My turn starts tomorrow. He will be home the day before Thanksgiving.

She is adorable! I have wanted to be a puppy raiser for a program like that for many years. It started when I read something about Canine Compaions for Independence. I wanted it so desperately, that I researched it and made a presentation to my parents about why I wanted to be one and what it was. I am thinking about volunteering with Paws With a Cause. If anybody is a puppy raiser, I would love to hear anything you would like to tell me. You can PM me if you'd like.
Again, Pilot is adorable! I hope you have a smooth transition into your house with your other dog.

How wonderful! How long will Rebecca be there? The Guide Dog Foundation isn't too far from where I live.

Not that I'm counting, but her return time is one of my countdowns

She returns on the 14th.

Simba, we did raise a puppy for Southeastern Guide Dogs several years back. There was an active group of puppy raisers in our area at that time.

Since DW was an active guide dog user we wanted to give back to the program. Beleive me, it was very different having a chewing Labrador puppy along with a fully trained guide dog.

We took obedience classes together, and since there were so many of us in the area, local merchants would allow us to enter their stores when the pups were old enough to wear their training blankets.

She went to work with me for half days on occassion and went to church with us as well.

We only had her ten months because they needed the string back early (normally have for about a year)

It was a lot of hard work, and of course a lot of tears to give her up, but easier for us than for some because we knew first hand what the end results were.

Realize that different schools have different policies on amounts (if any) of contact between the puppy raiser and the person the dog is placed with.
