Here is our "Minnie" trip report starring....(LOL) me, my DH, DD14, & DS7...
We checked into SSR at 12:30ish on Wed. 10/17/07. Our studio room wasn't ready but the CM helping us let us look at the map and select which area we wanted. I really liked that. We selected the Paddock section due to the fact it was the closet room available to a pool & bus stop. Not to mention we were told we would have a water view...Well WE LOVED our location, and we were happy with the room...especially the beds. Also while we were checking in I mentioned to the CM that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked for the buttons. Every CM within hearing distance came over to wish a a happy anniversary!
OK...Now, were off to Furture World in EPCOT. Very low crowds so we were able to just kind of walk on most everything (except soarin). We didn't stay but about 4 hours or so becasue we had dinner ADR's at WCC. this use to be my DH's favorite, but he didn't care as much for it this trip. But it was still fun for the kids and we all had a good time. After dinner we headed back to the room for a dip in the pool and hit the bed early.
Thursday: MK...it was a.m. EMH so we were there shortly after 8 am. Went on most everything during that time, then breakfast at CP. It was good as always and we really felt special because when we were seated we had a heart shape made out of mickey confetti on the table. I assumed the CM made a note of it when she checked us in and seen our buttons. After breakfast we hit Space Moutian and then it was time for my DS7 to get his haircut. During his hair cut my DD14 and I both had our hair fixed...my DD had a pony tail in so they just sprayed it down and tossed a little confettii on it. It was cute. With me...they went CRAZY. She put a wild pont tail in, and more confettii than should be allowed by law. She even sprayed my clothes and put it all over my shirt. But it was all in fun and we all had a good time!!! DS hair came out looking so good and he had it done with blue hair gel and it looked great! Then we just kinda wondered around going from one ride to the next grabbed a snack for lunch and then headed back to the room to get ready for MNSSHP.
My family were supposed to dress up like the rock group KISS for the party. I worked for months on the costumes. Then during the process of loading up the car to drive down I the costumes were simplly left behind. But all was not lost...my DD had her basketball uniform that she sleeps in so she was able to wear that. My DS had his football bag in the car that we were able to pull his uniform out of...so at least the kids had something fun to wear. Regardless we all had a good time. We had ADR's for Liberty Tree Tavern. We had ate there before but it had been years ago. My DD and DS LOVED it. They want us to make that a "to do" each time we go now. The charater interaction was great, and we loved the fact they were all in their halloween costumes too...some of the wait staff were too. The trick or treating was fun and I was having just as much fun as the kids were. The parade was fun and the fireworks (Hallowishes) were AWESOME! We finished up anything we had not rode and headed back to the room.
We had a surprise waiting for us in the room...We had Ballooons and a card from Beauty and the Beast wishing us a happy anniversary. I thought that was sweet. I knew they did things like that for the kids b-day's, but was not expecting it for us.
Friday: We had breakfast at atrist point at the resort. It wasn't bad...but I wish they had more of a seating area. This was our last full day. We headed off to AK. We just hit the things we know we all like. We had a lite lunch at Rainforest Cafe....then after riding a few more things headed off to MGM for a couple of hours...we just hit a few things since we knew we were coming back the next morning but knew we wouldn't be able to get both TOT and RNR both in. So we hit RNR and most other things in the park, then off to EPCOT for food and wine festival and pm EMH. (YES IT WAS A FULL AND LONG DAY). We were not sure it the kids would eat much at the food booths so we made it a point to go in Liberty Tree and grab some burgers and hotdogs. My DH & I were given a free apple pie for our anniversary. My DH & I did enjoy sampling the different booths.
Saturday: We only had a few hours before we had to head out on the road. So we grabbed a muffin and headed out to MGM during the am EMH to hit TOT and basically do some shopping. It was getting crazy crowded after about 10 am. It was reminding me of times we had been there during Spring break or the summer months. About 11 am we grabbed an early lunch at ABC commisary and started out. On the way out we over heard the sercuity gaurds talking about the crowds and how they had never seen anything like it at MGM that time of the year.
We had a really great time, even though we were only their 2 full days and 2 half days. Now...I just have to wait until June for our next trip. At least next time it will be a full week. No more rushing...take time for some shows and rest!
