Ok, first off I don't post alot here, but I did get a ton of good tips, so I thought I would post my short and sweet trip report! Me, DH and DD5 are the cast. This is our first trip to WDW.
Travel Dates: May 16 -23
Staying at the WL and on the regular dining plan with park hoppers.
By the way, a thumbs up to Orlando Strollers. They Rock! and my DD would not have made it without that stroller!
Wilderness Lodge
Fantastic resort! We had no problems. Mouse service was always good and they always left us with the towel characters! The place was clean and fairly quiet. Our room was #5045 and it faced the courtyard and pool. No noise but the electric parade that went by at night! We ate at Whispering Canyon one night and it was a hoot. The food was just okay, but the atmosphere totally made up for it. My daughter loved it. She thought is was crazy that we got up and did the hokey pokey at our table, and even funnier with everyone running around with ketchup bottles! I would definetely stay here again in the future, but would also like to try the poly or grand floridian. Boat rides and busses were a breeze to use and only had 1 long wait of about 20 minutes. We preferred the boats when we were able to use them.
Parks: I cannot believe how clean these parks are with that many people! We didnt utilize rope drops though. My family is not able to get up so early and so we usually didn't get down to transportation till about 9 am. Even so, the lines for rides were not that bad for us, since we had to ride single rider most times or got FP's. We don't like to rush around so we just took our time and enjoyed everything. Since we hit MK 3 times in our stay, we just rode when the lines were shorter!
DD loved BBB. OMG! DD was in high heaven. Totally magical for her. I would definetly do that again. Worth the price to see the look on her face.
Epcot for us was a hit or miss. DD was not too interested here, but we were there for 1 of our days. DD loved DHS, saw many characters and she loved the shows. Ak was fun too, but not as "clean" as the other parks in my opinion. Maybe because of all the animals and narrow paths where people walk on, it just looks cluttered, but we loved it here. This was our 2nd favorite park.
Dining Plan: I don't think that I am going to use the dining plan next time. It was great to have all the TS meals and such, but honestly I think for us it's better to just stop and eat when we get hungry verses having a scheduled time everyday. Plus it's just way too much dessert! Now I will say we LOVED Le Cellier for dinner, CRT at lunch and Crystal Palace for breakfast. These were our 3 favorites. Food was good and so was the atmosphere. We were not impressed with Akershus. The princesses seemed rush to get around and we felt hurried to get out of there at lunchtime. Not to mention you have to wait out in the boiling heat for them to call you for seating. Liberty Tree Tavern was just okay. Nothing special. I probably wouldn't go there again. Yak and Yeti was very good too and a welcomed change in the type of food we'd been eating. The portions were huge!
I had pre-ordered the Cinderella slipper for my DD for lunch at CRT too and it was awesome! Very tasty!
All in all, we had a great time. No bad mishaps, no mean CM's, no broken down rides, no real long wait times, honestly not one negative thing to report. Even photopass was a breeze. I pre-ordered the CD, had almost 200 photopass pics, and have already received the CD's. Couldn't be simpler and photopass is way worth it especially to get family photos which are hard to get if just 1 person is taking the pics! We had very little rain. I think we had some rain for our first 2 days, but they were short spurts and happened when we were either eating or watching a show. Never even took out the ponchos. The rest of the time it was sunny and hot, but being from Houston, TX we are already acclimated for it so the 97 deg. heat didn't bother us. I would definetly go back in May again. The crowds (all were green days but one yellow) were definetely managable and not crazy at all.
