Our Magical WDW Adventure ~ 23 Days of Fun, Food, Cocktails... London Trip 2/8

Wow!!!! I am so super excited for you (and exhausted!!:faint: ) I can't wait to see what the all important dining ADR's will be!! (not that I have booked any of mine yet for January!:rotfl: :rotfl: )

You have been so many great places to eat but you should also try some new things....this past August I had for the first time a dole whip float! Sooooo yummy, a new tradition for sure! This time I want a Grand Marnier Orange slush thing from France....looks yummy!::yes:: I don't normally drink in front of my younger nieces/nephews...don't know why, it's just something I don't do but this next trip I am taking my older niece whom is 19 so we'll see! ;) I just don't know where to take her to eat, my other niece (her younger sister) will eat anything that is not nailed down, seriously!! She likes chicken and some breakfast foods:sad1: ....well at least when I go in October I can make up for the lack of food this trip because that is also during the food and wine festival! popcorn:: :yay: Well, take care and we are all looking forward to your next installment!!

Thanks so much, thats really kind :goodvibes

We have quite a few new restaurants we are planning on trying and also all our old faves, so the best of both worlds for us. Oh dole whips are yummy, and funnily enough one of the things I have got on my 'to try' list was the Grand Marnier slush... you should definitely have one too. And then you can tell me what they are like :thumbsup2.

TBH I am quite fussy too, although you would never tell it with all the restaurants we go to. However I find Disney are good at catering for everyone. I mean I don't particularly like fish but I could still go to one of their seafood restaurants and find something I like. And for your niece most restaurants sell chicken. I had an especially nice chicken dish in the Coral Reef last time so maybe that could be an option for you :confused3

I am so jealous you get to go to the F&W Festival, I so want to go. The trouble is I am so impatient I cannot wait till September to go back again, so maybe next time ;)

I really enjoyed Crystal Palace and Casey's. Love Casey's mini corn dogs. Love the bakery in France too.

Hey girl,

I just caught up with your new pre trip report! I love all the plans so far. Can't wait to read more. popcorn::

My favorite Disney resturant so far is the 50's Prime Time Cafe. The food was great and our waitress was fantastic, she was so much fun. That is my vote. :)

Food.... hummm....
favorite restaurant: we loved Alfredos in Italy because the Fettucini Alfredo is sooo good, also the salads are good and desserts amazing! We really enjoyed the atmosphere... the decor, singing waiters, a strolling accordian player, lots of napkins waving in the air during some of the songs. Very upbeat when we've gone.
Stand outs.......
Food: Alfredos and the Brown Derby
Service: California Grill
Location: California Grill (reservation timed with Wishes)
Atmosphere: Coral Reef, Alfredos, Sci-Fi is fun
For snacks we loved the frozen coke at DHS, dole whips in MK, frozen lemonade (with Cheetoes ;) )in AK, chocolate crepes in France

I forgot to say that I think this is a great idea! I am very interested in what others have to say to your questions!

Hi!!! I am still catching up on your Paris report but found that you had started another WDW PTR! How exciting! I haven't been to WDW for more than 5 days in about 10 years so I can't even believe how much planning you are doing!!! I always catch the planning bug and DH doesn't "get it" either...:sad2: But he can be known as the Disney Hater...you are so lucky to have someone who loves Disney as much as you!!

Here are my restaurant/favorite food places picks:
1) Romantic and great food: Narcossee's (I don't know how to spell it...sorry). This will cost you two dining credits, but I am sure you will have more than enough!!!

2) Loved Le Cellier. I think you have already eaten there in your last report.

3) We went to the Japanese place in Epcot. Not the sushi place, but the one where they cook right in front of you. It was a ton of fun!

4) Discovered this last year: Gelato in the Beach Club Marketplace. AWESOME and you get a ton for cheap! I am not sure if this would be considered a snack credit, but I would pay OOP for it anyday!

5) Earl of Sandwich. Big sandwiches. Lots of choices. Large line always though, but every time I have been there, it moves pretty fast.

That's all I can think of right now!

Boma for breakfast or dinner....When we stay at AKV we eat here many times, love the juice in the morning (you can ask for it at dinner too;) ) Breakfast is soooo good, I am not a scrambled egg person at all but there is something about theirs (pounds of butter maybe?) and the dinner is amazing as well and very yummy desserts

50's Primetime we ate here in August and had a great time...really fun atmosphere and we had a very "in character" waiter that terrorized my nephews! :rotfl: it was great fun and the food was very good too...

***want to try Tutto Italia's....very mixed reviews on the boards....I love, love, loved Alfredo's and their dishes but the new place looks good too.

***also want to try Le Cellier cheese soup, creme brulee ( we know you like that! :lovestruc )

Flying Fish***Food here was very, very good, it was expensive but worth it. Very rich food..

Biergarten in Germany We ate here in August, my nephew and niece are studying German in school and wanted to experience their food and culture. Lots of meat items and amazing potato salads of course, my niece already said she wants to go back here next October....I really love German beer and there was a "flight" of maybe 6 samples that you could buy.

***I will also check out the TREX in Downtown disney.....maybe, just maybe I will go in January and then let you know how it is!! The pictures online look cool and the food pretty much looks like Rainforest Cafe, but the atmosphere looks fun, and Nick can build a dinosaur there!:yay:

Hope this helps a bit...if I think of anything else to add I will.

Also, we eat loads of popcorn and coke (the coke is sooo weirdly good there) and frozen coke too.

p.s. I am trying to get my mom to make Yorkshire pudding for Thanksgiving this year:rotfl: :rolleyes1 I LOVE it but somehow I guess it doesn't quite go well with Turkey...:lmao:

Wow thanks for all the ideas, I'm so glad you posted :thumbsup2

Boma ~ We have done both breakfast and dinner here and really enjoyed both. Nick wasn't quite so sure about breakie, he didn't think it was anything special. But I loved it, and that juice is so good. We both enjoyed dinner, Nick especially so. The thing that puts us off a bit is the location, its a bit out the way and takes a bit to get there.

50's Prime Time ~ I am tempted to try here as it looks like lots of fun. The menu however wouldn't be my first choice, there isn't really anything on there that either of us fancy. I'm not sure if we will try it this time but next time we go with my family I think its a must.

Le Cellier ~ We loved and plan to go back.

Flying Fish ~ I am interested in the Flying Fish but its a 2 credit restaurant so we will have to see.

Tutto Italia and Biergarten ~ We have this kind of tradition that we will try 1 new WS restaurant on each visit so we have to decide which of the 8 we haven't tried we will visit

T-Rex ~ I really want to try here but as it isn't on the dining plan I don't think we will get chance to eat here this year. I will definitely try and at least have a cocktail here though :rolleyes1

You should definitely get your Mum to make Yorkshire Puddings, they are so yummy. And they go perfectly with turkey, any kind of roasts really. We have them with chicken all the time :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for joining me, and for reading my Paris report. I'm sorry your DH is a Disney Hater, that has to suck :sad1:. But at least he isn't so bad and still lets you vacation there, my aunts husband wont even let her try because he doesn't like it.

Anyway thanks so much for your ideas, I have to say you were thinking along my lines exactly :goodvibes. I already had an idea to try Narcoossee's and Teppan Edo so it was good to hear you loved them too. Yes we loved Le Cellier and plan to return and will definitely be spending some of our CS credits on Earl of Sandwich, so yummy :lovestruc. Nice to hear about the BC ice-cream though, this is the first I have heard of this. This definitely sounds like its worth a try, I love ice-cream :thumbsup2

DH isn't a total Disney hater...he has gone with me twice, but he doesn't understand why I want to go back next year for a trip (last time we went was May 07). He wants to try new places...I understand that because I would love to go to the Grand Canyon and Vegas...and take him to San Francisco...but can't we go to Disney too?? :rolleyes1

I went to Narcossee's for my birthday one year with my parents and since it's my dad's favorite restaurant when we go, we have been twice and the food and atmosphere were awesome. We have always had a window seat but we haven't gone during Wishes so I am sure that will be spectacular.

We went to Teppan Edo one night last Christmas. It was busy, and had to wait forever even with our ADR's, but it was worth it. We were seated during Illuminations so the place really cleared out by then and we had a great meal.

Although its great Nick loves Disney, and that means we get to visit there lots, it means we don't get to visit anywhere else. Every time we start thinking about going somewhere else we just can't bring ourselves to do it, and we used to love visiting new places :sad2:. So in that respect your lucky you have someone that encourages you to try different places :thumbsup2

Its great to hear more good reviews about Narcoossee's, I only started considering it after reading a trippie a few months ago and now I am really excited about it. And Teppan Edo sounds great too :thumbsup2

Anymore ideas guys?

And to all you lurkers, I know your out there :wave2:, Please come by and say Hi, and I would love to hear your thoughts :thumbsup2

In Pursuit of the 'Perfect Plan' ~ A Little Help From Friends Can Go A Long Way, Pt. 2

SUBJECT OF THE DAY ~ TWO:

Following on from the all important subject of food, and along the same lines, another subject very close to my heart :lovestruc

:rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow:
:rainbow: :rainbow:
:rainbow:

.... SNACKS AND COCKTAILS

:rainbow:
:rainbow: :rainbow:
:rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow:

Yes I know thats 2 things but since there are only so many ideas for both I thought it would be better to put them together.
Now since we are on the DDP we will be getting 1 snack a day, thats 20 snacks each in total. Now I have to admit this is something I don't know too much about. After all we love to enjoy lots of table service meals which doesn't leave too much room for all the yummy snacks that Disney has to offer. But this time we are definitely going to indulge ourselves, after all they are included. I know some of you may have already mentioned some snacks but I would love to hear about them again.
And of course I had to include cocktails at some point, after all you know how I love my cocktails :goodvibes. Obviously I have tried a few, but when it comes to cocktails I quite often tend to be a creature of habit and order the same thing. However this time I am determined to be more adventurous and try some new things.
So here is what I would like to know from you all:

What are your favorite snacks and where are they from?

Is there any snacks that you would avoid?

What are the best snacks available on the DDP?

What cocktails would you recommend? Where are they from and what do they have in them?

What other drinks would you recommend?

Hey girl!!

I am here now!! Gosh, I have to go to Disneyland Paris one day!!! It looks so beautiful!!

All your pictures are gorgeous!! You are so photogenic!!

Hey and :welcome:

We have actually just got back from DLP. We went for Halloween and had an amazing time, it was so much fun. And it was great as Sophie was there too so we could all be big kids (and we really were). I am actually in the middle of my trippie for it.
