Our Magical WDW Adventure ~ 23 Days of Fun, Food, Cocktails... London Trip 2/8

Wow Ariel! Your calendar is amazing!! So much time. It turned out great!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks :goodvibes. I wanted to do one like yours but haven't got any Mickey heads and don't think I have the patience to cut loads out. Plus this way I can just stick it on the wall or something.

Your trip is going to come so quickly with all of the things that you have planned!!!! I would love to see a Cirque show one day. There is one coming to the suburbs of Chicago soon. Not sure if we will get tickets since we are seeing Mary Poppings coming up. DH saw a Cirque show in Vegas and loved it!!!!

Happy Birthday to Nick this weekend! He is turning into quite the old man already. :lmao: I am sure you have been planning this weekend too...since you love to plan everything! :thumbsup2

Thanks hun, I will tell him you said so. Hopefully it will be a good weekend, don't worry I will tell you all all about it :thumbsup2

You should definitely see a Cirque show, try in see La Nouba when you next go to Disney if you can. Its not only the best out of the shows we have seen but it is a good introduction into their shows. It is like a contemporary circus, but far better, and fits in with Disney quite nicely. And the tickets are some of the cheapest there too funnily. I am very jealous of your DH, I really want to see the Vegas ones. Which one did he see?

Oh are you excited about Mary Poppin's? We saw it in London before it went off touring around Britain here and it was brilliant. I was worried it wouldn't compare to the film as I love Julie Andrew's and Dick Van ****, but it was more based around the books than the film so was different and therefore I didn't compare it so much. I am hoping to take Sophie to see it when it comes back around the area.

Keeping Count of Our Confirmations...
... As We Count Down the Days

Well now I have my new Disney file, I have sorted through all the information and confirmations we currently have and have arranged it all in my new file. The majority of it is booklets and leaflets on Orlando and the various parks, along with this I have my Disney planning notepad and pen (Disney of course), some highlighters (I haven't worked out what these are for yet but I am sure they will come in handy for something), our Virgin Atlantic Airmiles cards, passports, some vouchers we printed off from Seaworld and of course, our Disney confirmation. Of course I have some pictures for you.

My current confirmations, not many at the moment sadly

Hopefully soon we will be able to get lots more things booked and then I can start filling up the folder with lots more fun things :cheer2:. I will post some pictures of the folder every month so you can see how much, or little, it fills up. And whilst I am keeping count of our confirmations, I am also keeping count of how many days we have left, now we have our countdown calender and all. Its now on the wall next to the sofa where I sit so I can keep an eye on it all the time, which may be a bad thing as I am pretty sure watching it is not going to make the days go any faster :headache:

And here it is now I have started crossing of the days, only 106 to go...

Before you know it you will be crossing off that last Mickey head. I know I already said this but the calendar is amazing and I love how you added all the stickers.

OMG when that day comes I am going to be bouncing up the walls, I cannot wait :thumbsup2. And thanks, it was lots of fun adding the stickers, it makes it look so much better I think. Much more Disney.

I love that Ariel notebook, it's so cute!

Thanks, I have 3. Sophie always buys them for me as she knows I love Ariel. One is full of information from this trip, one from the last, one is just other information and the Tinkerbell one is my trip planner for our Smoky Mountain trips.

Heya and :welcome:

Oh and I mean't to say before that I had a Luau for my birthday and we had margarita's and cocktails too. It was for my 18th though, which feels like forever ago now. I hope you enjoyed our 21st, I spent mine at Discovery Cove followed by the Spirit of Aloha dinner show, it was perfect :cloud9:

Hey Ariel! :wave2: So like I mentioned on my PTR, I have been reading along bit by bit but here I am to join you! You arrive the day we leave so we'll miss eachother

First let me say I'm SOOOO jealous you get to stay in Orlando for such a long time! I'm excited we get to go for a week so I can't even imagine how excited I'd be if we got to stay for over 3 weeks! You and you're BF are very lucky to be able to go on trips like you do, you've been to so many different places. I wish to be able to do that one day, when I'm rich :rotfl:

Your calendar is soooo cute! You can tell you put alot of time into it and it came out great. I can't wait to hear what else you guys will plan and I'm wondering, what could your plans be for Nick's bday this weekend? :confused3

Great countdown!!!! We are kicking ours off tomorrow - 101 days! Those notebooks are great; I haven't seen anything like that in our Disney Stores. I will need to keep an eye out so I can jot down photography settings I need to remember, etc and take notes during my trip for the TR!

Heya and :welcome:, I'm glad you joined us, it will be nice having you here :goodvibes

It is nice we get to go for such a long time but its such a long way and the flights can be pretty steep so we try and make it worth it when we go. Plus we don't just do Disney, we do the Universal parks, Seaworld, Busch, Discovery Cove, Aquatica and we like to have some time to visit the beach/everglades etc. 3 weeks is still not enough to fit everything in

How cool! Yeah...your 21st does sound great! I love the Luau show. I made a TR last year, and we go to the luau show every year and last year we went all out with luau clothes.....and when we got to the Poly and checked-in, it started POURING and wouldn't stop, so they had to cancel the show. :sad1: And this year we didn't get to go to it because they were all booked!

Holiday Reminiscing...
... Where do you go when your not at Disney?

Ok per request, I thought I would share with you some photo's and information about some of Nick and my previous trips. I wont bore you with more photo's and details of our Disney trips as I have covered that already, but these are a few of the different holidays Nick and I have been on. They are all quite different, different locations, accommodations, itinerary's, and overall experiences, but they have all been great fun and we loved every one of them.

When: August / September 2005 for 1 week

Where: Brittany, France

Who: Mum, Sophie, Nick and I

The Why: After getting back from WDW in January Mum had serious Disney depression, well we all did but since she is head of the household her having it means big things. Although we had booked for July 2007, that would mean over 18 months without a holiday (Nick and I had been to Cuba in June but just the 2 of us), and we are used to having regular summer holidays. Unfortunately Dad and Nick couldn't get any time off work during the summer holidays so Mum and I started looking into options for the 3 of us. We found several options but then found a great deal on Keycamp in Brittany. Now since Sophie was born we had been visiting Brittany because it was little driving for us on both sides of the channel, and we found it to be such a beautiful and interesting place. It is full of beautiful and varied beaches, beachfront creperies, historic towns and local markets. We also spent many holidays Eurocamp. Eurocamp has a range of accommodations including camping pitches, caravans and static tents, which is what we stay in. The tents have 2 bedrooms with a wardrobe inbetween, proper beds, and then a reception area with a cooker, fridge and freezer, sink, table and chairs and a few other things. Outside each pitch has sunloungers, chairs and tables and room for your car. Its quite snug inside, but its great fun. And the sites always have great pool complexes, a bar and restaurant, takeaway, kids club, play parks and are usually situated near great beaches. Well anyway the deal was to good to ignore, the site looked lovely and was in a different part of Brittany than we had been before, and just as we were about to book Nick announced he could get the time off and come too, brilliant.

The Holiday:
When we go to Brittany we always get the ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff, the nearest ferry points on both sides of the channel. This time we got a posh new ferry with a pool on and really nice restaurant which was a great way to pass the six hour journey (especially since I get sea sick  ).
The campsite itself was great, our pitch was a nice size and we could see the sea from our table. The pool area was really nice with some great slides so Sophie was really happy and we were in easy walking distance of a few nice beaches, one of which Sophie and Nick loved to go rockpooling on.
The campsite hired out bikes, and since Brittany is pretty much flat and has good cycle lanes we hired some and found some more nice beaches and enjoyed cycling along the beautiful coast. We visited a couple of local markets, and a lovely little town nearby called St Cado. The town has an island with a few houses on and is very unique and interesting. When we rented a villa in 2007 we were literally just up the road from the same place. We ate at some lovely creperies, this is one of my favorite things to do when in France. In the evening we would eat dinner outside and then play games and have drinks under the stars whilst listening to the waves lap against the shore. It was a great holiday, a good mix of exploring and relaxing.

Ok, now for some pictures. Starting with the ferry, and an excited Mum playing Bingo on board

Our campsite, unfortunately I didn't get many pictures of our tent but here are a few, starting with the view of the outside

Having breakfast outside, we would always have french bread and jam and coissants

Oh no, how rubbish that must have been. We were really lucky as the weather was gorgeous all day at DC then right towards the end of the day the weather started turning. By the time we got in the car to drive to the Poly the rain was torrential, we were sure it would be canceled. Luckily the rain calmed down but didn't stop, but they did the show anyway. I was so glad, it was a perfect end to the day :cloud9:

Sorry you didn't manage to get to go this time, hopefully you will get to go again soon.

How fun that trip must have been! Wonderful pictures, too!

Thanks. The trip was a lot of fun. As much as I love WDW and my luxury holidays its nice sometimes to just go somewhere simpler and spend our days playing on the beach and evenings sitting out under the stars playing cards and drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows

The beach looks nice!

The proper beaches were really nice, but the little beach with the rocks and seaweed, ewwww :scared:
