We've stayed at Poly Hawaii building several times - most recently this Dec 8th-12th ( room 2513). Usually of CMs are great, and it's a shame that you had one who's so inexperienced. While it would be terrific if all of the CMs could recognize their guests by sight, I think that forcing you to use your pass key is the way they keep out other curious non-concierge guests. Though it's tempting to be nice, DH and I never hold the door for other people trying to access the Hawaii building unless we've seen them before in the lounge, hall, etc. The pool entrance is slippery and doesn't have raised skids so that persons in wheelchairs can wheel down and "transfer" into the pool. True, I've never seen anyone use this accessibility, but that's the explanation we were given when the pool was new. And yes - the only unwelcomed noise we ever hear is kids (I guess they're kids) running in the halls.
