DAY SEVEN - Fri. 7/21/06

Our last official park day :sad2: . Grabbed a quick breakfast in the food court. It is our custom to begin and end all Disney trips with MK....so off to MK we went  . Started off with Mickey’s Philharmagic...what a cute show. We really enjoyed it. Did a few more things in Fantasyland, then off to get FP’s for BTM. Did Pirates once again while we waited for our FP. DD20 and I headed over to get Dole Whips...yum... while DH and DD15 got McDonald’s French Fries...go figure. We sat and relaxed a bit, did a few more things, HofP, etc., walked around ToonTown, then headed back to get FPs for SM and get on BTM. Had an ADR for Tony’s at 2:45, so headed over there for lunch. They actually took us early and honored our request for a window seat. The lunch was so-so, but you can’t beat the location for prime parade viewing. Hey, we’re from New Orleans, we’re used to setting up our ladders, bringing our ice chests and making a day of it, but if I can sit in the A/C and watch a parade, I’m all for it :yay: . After the parade, we headed over to SM and then we caught the Pirates show. Boy, that guy really looks and more importantly, acts and sounds, just like Johnny Depp pirate: . We were disappointed that they seemed to pick little kids for the show and didn’t need any older pirate wenches :lovestruc , but we enjoyed it nonetheless...while eating our Mickey bars :mickeybar ...sense a theme here....Mom loves Mickey bars...mmm.... then it was back to Pop for some rest.

Tonight was the EMH for MK...open until 2am....and boy, we used up every last minute of it. Got FPs for SM, walked around a bit, then got our spots right outside of Crystal Palace to view Wishes. I’m a sucker for fireworks.... and Disney knows how to do it just right pixiedust: . Of course, we had to do our favorites one last time....Pirates, HM, SM, few others. We finished off our trip with our traditional ice cream finale. We always sit by the little tables on Main Street, and watch the “Kiss Goodnight” :tink: as our very last thing at Disney...and this trip was no exception. Got back to Pop at around 3am...showered and crashed for the evening.

The next day, Saturday, we got an unsolicited wake up call from Pop at 8:45....I guess that’s to make sure we didn’t overstay our 11am check out time. At least we didn’t have the 7:30 leaf blower guy, or if he was there, we were too dead tired to hear him. We ate breakfast in the food court, then headed over to Downtown Disney to shop for about an hour before hitting the road to head back to New Orleans. Until next time....bye bye Mickey!!! :mickeyjum

REFLECTIONS:

Despite my hospital visit, we really did have a great time. Yes, it was hot...yes, it was crowded, but heck...you’re in Disney World!!!! We made the most of late EMH. Since we were staying out so late, we didn’t make a single early EMH, so I can’t give you any advice on that. I much prefer the old E nights, as they were a lot less crowded. The crowds thin out a lot the last hour or so of EMH night. If you can hang that long, its worth it. :woohoo:

We liked Pop Century, but will probably try a moderate whenever we return. I love the theming of the values, but with older kids, I think it’d be nice to have a slightly “quieter” atmosphere. Who knows....we may change our minds by then.

As soon as I have time, I’ll try to post some dining review. We loved LeCellier, though did feel that it (as is everything in DW) is overpriced. I’d eat there again, though. Also very much enjoyed Alfredo’s, despite the bashing it sometimes takes here on the DIS. We didn’t do the dining plan, as this was a last minute trip and I didn’t want to be so tied down. Turns out, it worked best for us this way.

To all of you anxiously awaiting your trips...and reading everything you can get your hands on....have a wonderful time when it finally gets here. Just go with the flow and remember...you’re in the Happiest Place on Earth!!!!!
:disrocks:

I am glad everything went OK healthwise for the remainder of your vacation. Glad to hear that you had a great time even with roadblocks.

Mom! You forgot to mention dinner at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe! Hahahahaha. It's become a family tradition that we eat here once a trip...and we did! Our last meal....

:thumbsup2 Great report. I'm glad that you weren't sick for the whole trip. Thanks for sharing.

Silverspark...how could I forget that????? She's right....had to do Cosmic Ray's.....and it actually wasn't bad!!

I posted on day 2 if you did Dining Plan.

Glad you felt better, you and your husband look way to young to have a 20 yr old daughter. Thanks for sharing everything with us.

Thanks for the trip reports. I found them using the search, as we are thinking of trying July and I wanted to know a little about what to expect. Is there any way to avoid the tour groups? Maybe an online listing of where they are going each day? Thanks again!
