We just returned after a 10 day trip that included visiting family in Ocala and a 2day trip to universal before starting our WDW plan on July 3.
me DH, DS1 age 20 ,DS2 age 17. Met up with sister, her 2 girls 15 and10 and her fiancee and his 2 boys, 8 and 10. We did some things together, some things separately, but once they saw my itinerary, they started going with us.
We either did early entry(Epcot) or got to MK for 810am character breakfast or got to park when opened(AK). that was crucial! by 1130 we had done most all of the big "E" rides, and some twice using no fastpass!
We saw all 3 july 4 fireworks shows, ...went to Ohanna's for dinner on july 3 and I watched from beach, family finished dessert and watched from table. they show the july 4 fireworks show on july 3 also, have done this everytime we have gone. Went to Epcot on July 4 for early entry, boys did mission space 3 times, soarin twice and testtrack once before heading to MGM for the rest of the day. Had no problem with rides there using fastpass.
Mgm fireworks for the 4th were great! walked from there to Epcot, watched their july 4 show...fantastic! It thundered, but no rain!
Mk was the fifth, we knew no crowds that morning since MK had stayed open till 1 am, we did 810 character bkfst, had main street to our selves for some great pix, walked on all the big rides till lunch.
GFtea for all the gals, Pecos Bills, then hotel for the guys...perfect, then back to MK that evening for Columbia harbor house, funnel cake spectro ,and more fireworks. (my group was late due to DS1 scuba dive at living seas lasted much longer than I had planned....he said it was great!) stayed till close! crowded, but used fastpass.
DH and I opened MK again (just can't get enough)The kids slept in for BB day, then forgot tix and had to bus back to swan, needless to say , by the time they got there, it was packed. wall to wall people in the lazy river, 60 min wait for summit plummet.
Cape may and DTD that night, all crowded. Disney Quest was so crowded, they left after 30 min. DH went to guest relations, and they put that day back on the ticket..which I thought was very nice.
Finally found the happiest celebration CD 2 disc set at the Art of Disney. They were sold out every where else.
Kids loved Epcot, returned at opening on thurs, did more mission space and soarin, ate their way through the world showcase, loved everything they tried, but boy was it hot!
Lasted only 3 hours at AK, too hot, too tired, went back to AKL, kids and DH napped, I took lots of pix. Did Boma that night(great)
Forgot disboard advice re red plastic disney bags, got the red ink on 2 white shirts.
Shoes, .accidently .left walking shoes at home, lived in my Merrils and tevas and reef flip flops. feet were a little tired, but no blisters or any other problems.
Never used poncho or umbrellas, never rained on us the whole trip. Rained a couple times, but we were unpacking, or eating.
Had to buy a broad brim hat at Universal, wore it nearly every day.
I posted my dining and resort reviews.
I really have to say a big THANKS to all the disboard advisors. I still learn something new for each trip, and I have been going since 1973!
Now off to plan the oct trip(adult only 3 couples) for food and wine and MNSSHP, still hoping for a better discount at port orleans.
