Our great big beautiful journey!!! With Pictures!! UPDATED 2/25/07 with VIDEO!!

Hey there! I thought I'd check out your report since we were in the World at the same time!! I totally hear you about the crowds! We think it was because of the Marathon weekend. DH and I usually travel in the beginning of January, and the lines are usually very short! We now know to avoid the race weekend unless we are participating!!

I'm having fun hearing about a trip with an 18 mo. Our littlest will be 18 months when we go again this Labor Day. Sounds like it will be a little more challenging than when she was 6 months!

And I like how your whole family is there together, but you don't insist on spending every moment together. I think that is what ruins a lot of people's large "Magical Gatherings". They need to realize that it is impossible to make everyone happy, and that flexibility (and cell phones!!) are the key!

Keep up the great report!

Thanks for the encouragement. Our family is very close and very loving. We all live within 10 miles of each other back "home"....so we have plenty of together time all year long...and actually we all used to work together...and still do occasionally.

Going into this trip we knew that we wouldn't get to accomplish everything. My husband and I set small small goals every day, if we accomplished them we felt awesome! So far, so good!

Thanks so much for reading!

I use flickr.com to upload my pictures. They are a free service and you can upload 100mb a month for free. I know alot of other people use different hosting sites though. What exactly are you having problems with?

What an excellent tr so far. I love the picture of Pluto and your son, that is a great shot.

We happened to run into my parents again during the parade so we watched it with them. I saw the parade back in 2004 and it appears they didn't change it much. I was a little disappointed. I was also disappointed that Speed and Mater were not in the parade....I mean they are CARS!

Which brings up something I forgot to include earlier.....

See that little red circle button on the bottom left hand side of the Rusteze logo near the back of the car? Well apparently it is some type of "kill" switch (safety feature). Apparently DH and DS got too close and the CM yelled at them...told them to STAY AWAY FROM THE BUTTON. There is one of these on both sides of Speed.

Back to the parade.....it was over and it was about 3:45. We have reservations at Hoop De Doo tonight with the whole gang so we decided we better start heading that way. We decided we wanted to drive to Fort Wilderness so we could get home easier that night. So we find a bus to POP. Of course this was the longest we ever had to wait on a bus to come for us. It seemed as though it took forever.

We got to POP. DH went to the room to get the key and DS and I headed to the car.

The conversation in the car went something like this:

DH: Do you have a map?

Me: No, Fort Wilderness is next to Magic Kingdom, just follow the signs.

DH: OK.....wow...they have porty pots in the median, does traffic get that backed up that they put pottys there?

Me: I think that is for the Marathon, there are cases of water over there....oh and some generators over there.

DH: Ahh, I see....their "pit stop"...ha ha ha....

Me: This says we are going to Animal Kingdom.......crap we missed our turn talking about the potties.

DH: (*&*(# followed by *&^#&#*

DS: WHAAAAAA!!!!

We finally get turned around which seems like forever. I am staring at the clock. We get to Fort Wilderness at 4:35, but we still have to take another bus to Pioneer Hall. We look on the map...the direct bus is the Orange.

HERE COMES A BUS....Purple...Dang.....4:40.........

HERE COMES A BUS....Epcot....Dang....4:42.......My sister and her family get off this bus....WHOO HOOO we'll be late together!!!!

HERE COMES A BUS....ORANGE....YIPPEE!!!!.....4:45 we get on board and are on our way! We just might make it in time!

*ring* its the phone.....its my brother. Where are you? The bus, we're almost there. Oh...good, cause we are on the Ferry we aren't there yet either. *lots of laughing* we'll all be late together!!!

The bus drops us off and as we are walking up to the entrance to Hoop De Doo I glance at my watch 4:53. We had enough time to let everyone use the bathroom and change DS. My brother drags in. WE ARE ALL HERE....AND EVERYONE IS ON TIME!!!

Turns out my brother didn't go to a park today. He took his DS8 swimming while his DW and their DS4 went to urgent care. See, when they arrived Tuesday night DS4 got a fever. Wed and Thurs he still didn't feel well so Fri they took him to Urgent Care. Apparently Disney has free transportation here and then they will take you to Walgreens to fill your prescription. Anyways...DS4 had pnemonia. This is his 2nd or 3rd time this year with it, he tends to get it alot. He is rested and feels well enough to go to the Hoop De Doo!

We were seated as soon as they rang the bell for dinner. We had two tables. A table of 10 and a table of 9. The food was very good. DH and I really enjoyed the ribs. I requested a hot dog for DS.

The show was good, my neices and nephews really enjoyed it. They laughed hilariously through the entire thing.

After dinner and the Hoop De Doo was over we all decided to go to the Campfire program and watch a movie together. Tonight they were playing Lady and the Tramp and The Pacifier. I don't think any one paid attention to the movie but the kids. All the adults were busy talking about what they have been doing and our plans for tommorow.

My parents used to live in Haines City near the Orange Ring during a time in their lives....all of use kids remember walking over there and eating a Orange Swoon. Its a ice-cream but its made out of Florida Orange Juice...it hard to explain. Anyways, since my parents had their camper...and a FREEZER they were nice enough to buy 19 of them and stash them in their freezer for their family. Aren't they the best? My dad took the golf cart and retrieved our wonderful desserts from the camper.

My sisters and I walked down to Meadow Trading Post to shop, no one bought anything but we enjoyed checking out the shop.

The Pacifier was beginning and we were all getting tired. After all we had another LONG day! Since my dad had rented a golf cart he was playing taxi. He was dropping everyone off where they wanted to go. We got him to take us back to the parking lot! Yeah!

We had no problems finding POP. Since it was dark now we were focused on the signs and not potties.

Back to the room for some rest....guess who's in the pack n play?

Up next Animal Kingdom!

Today was Animal Kingdom day. DH and I planned on spending one day in each park, so far so good. Since DH had never been to AK and I've only been twice we had the most "goals" set for today. They include:
* Kilimajaro Safari
* Primeval Whirl
* Dinosaur
* Flame Tree Bar B Que
* Expedition Everest
But, in no particular order.

We were up, dressed and fed....off to the bus stop!!

As we were riding on the bus....I remembered......I FORGOT DEODORANT TODAY!!! :scared1: :sad2: For some reason in the middle of my morning routine I got distracted. Ahh! So we now had a mission.....Find Deordorant!

After we get through "security" and the gate we stop at the first gift shop and ask the CM if they had deordorant. Nope, not in that store. They suggested we go to the Baby Center....so off we went. The CM at the babycenter checked and came out with Speed Stick....it was the mens kind...I was desperate and bought it. I put some on, and even though I smell a little like fresh pine, I was able to enjoy my day without worrying about body odor. :cool1:

We happened to be walking behind this little girl...she was so cute so we took a picture of her.

We also ran across these beautiful birds.

We started heading towards Kilimajaro Safari. I've never been on this ride so it was a top priority. The last time I was at AK they ran out of fast passes and the line was just too long to wait. We got in line and let DS ride in his stroller until we was told he had to get out. We ended up walking right up and boarding. NO WAIT! :yay:

As we exited off of the Safari they had a little kiosk...

DS wanted "puppy" so......he got a little stuffed Pluto. We make our way towards Everest to get FPs. We found a photo pass photographer along the way. We always asked them to take a picture with our camera too. It was nice to have some pictures of us as a family on this trip! Pluto is of course included in this photo!

We made it to Everest, the entire area surrounding it was NUTS, people galore! We got our FPs, I think our return time was around 2:30.

We had a long ways to wait, so off to Dinoland!

You got some BEAUTIFUL pictures on the safari!

And I have to ask.. How on Earth are you finding time to whip out this trip report so quickly!?!? :scratchin I mean.. you have an 18month old for crying out loud!!:rotfl:

Really enjoying your report!

Really enjoying your report!

I am a stay at home mom, I have a laptop with wireless and a DH that works ALOT. Most of the time when I am writing the trip report my DS is napping or already in bed.

We arrived in Dinoland!

We immediately checked out Primeval Whirl to see what the wait looked like. The standby line said 20 minutes, but it was really more like 10. We got rider swap passes and DH went to stand in line. DS and I strolled around Dinoland checking out the games and the gift shop.

While DH was on the ride I spotted my Sis and her family, they were also on Primeval Whirl. When DH came off I suggested that he take DS on Triceratop Spin. He enjoys these type of rides....I don't particularly care for them.

While they did that I used the FP line for Primeval Whirl. Apparently while DH was on Primeval Whirl the nice CM told him to take off his hat and hold on to it. Sadly, I didn't get that same nice CM....my hat flew off my head and landed beneath the track. Since we went through a similar situation in 2004 on the TOT, I accepted the hat was long gone but we'd give central lost and found a call in the morning....just in case.

The hat we lost on TOT in 2004 was never recovered....

We were starting to get hungry....so we left Dinoland and ventured off to find Flame Tree Bar B Que. YUM! I waited in line while DH found us a table. I believe DH had the chicken and I had the sandwhich. Both were awesome. We also got onion rings & DS had a hot dog.

I was a little disappointed there was no indoor seating, but I survived. We usually use our meal time to get some AC and relax, today we'd have to do without the AC.

After lunch we found Pooh, Eyore and Tigger!

It was here that I spotted the only LGMH that I saw on our WHOLE TRIP! It was on a stroller being used as a ID tag. I pointed it out to DH, but of course he could care less. The stroller was parked...so I never got to see who was the driver or the child. I do know however Groucho was at AK that day too. More on that later!

We headed to Dinosaur to get FP.

The return time was about 45 minutes away. DS was yelling for "juice" so I went into McDonalds and got some lemonade for him, and a cup of ice for me. We went back to Primeval Whirl and let DH ride again, DH checked out the gift shop and we headed back to Dinosaur and found a shady spot to wait. DH went first and then watched DS while I went.

Our Everest FP time was getting close so we started heading in that direction when we saw that Nemo the musical was about to start so we go in line for that. It was cool in there but we didn't have a seat with a back and it was super crowded. We could barely see the show. DS was starting to nestle so I told DH we'll get him to sleep, then we will sneak out.

DS was asleep in about 5 minutes, we snuck out the side and put him in the stroller....mission accomplished.

Off to Everest!!!

DH and I debated on who was going first. He knew I was dying to ride...but so was he. I agreed to let him go first. I explored the area while I waited.....I ended up running into my brother and his family who had FPs in about 30 minutes for Everest. The conversation went something like this.

me: Hi guys, whats going on....

brother: We have FPs for Everest shortly.

me: Cool, Eric is on it now!!

brother: Are you sure...its broke down.

me: What? (I look up) hmmmm That guy in the front kinda looks like DH.....

brother: what color shirt is he wearing?

me: red...

brother: lets call his phone.

me: oh look that guy is digging for his phone...yep its DH alright.

Groucho's SIL happened to be on this same train apparently in front of my DH. He happened to take this pic. I discovered this while reading his TR.

While my brother was on the phone with DH he told him to wave at the crowd and tons of people started waving at DH.

DH said that when the train stopped a handrail automatically raised next to the stopped train and an announcement was made explaining that the CMs would be there shortly and help them exit and walk down 14 flights of stairs.

There was a passenger in the back which required additional assistance so she had to stay on longer until they were able to help her off.

They explained that 3 trains were running on Everest and there is a computer system that will shut the ride down (for safety reasons of course) if the trains become too close to one another.

They gave DH another FP to use on Everest. He was a little disappointed that was all he recieved after walking down 14 flights of stairs.

As he was walking towards us people were talking about him......"hey you where the guy in the RED SHIRT!" They starting asking him questions and giving him high fives. He thought he was a celebrity! He was happy to tell everyone about his experience.

It was now 3:30pm....would we ever get to ride Everest? Stay tuned to find out!

Wow! I was reading along in your trippie and when I came across this paragraph I had to write that I had experienced the same thing! I was in Epcot when I discovered that I forgot deodorant, and I ended up buying a Men Speed Stick too! What is it with Disney? Don't they think women sweat too? Too funny!!
