We arrived in Dinoland!
We immediately checked out Primeval Whirl to see what the wait looked like. The standby line said 20 minutes, but it was really more like 10. We got rider swap passes and DH went to stand in line. DS and I strolled around Dinoland checking out the games and the gift shop.
While DH was on the ride I spotted my Sis and her family, they were also on Primeval Whirl. When DH came off I suggested that he take DS on Triceratop Spin. He enjoys these type of rides....I don't particularly care for them.
While they did that I used the FP line for Primeval Whirl. Apparently while DH was on Primeval Whirl the nice CM told him to take off his hat and hold on to it. Sadly, I didn't get that same nice CM....my hat flew off my head and landed beneath the track. Since we went through a similar situation in 2004 on the TOT, I accepted the hat was long gone but we'd give central lost and found a call in the morning....just in case.
The hat we lost on TOT in 2004 was never recovered....
We were starting to get hungry....so we left Dinoland and ventured off to find Flame Tree Bar B Que. YUM! I waited in line while DH found us a table. I believe DH had the chicken and I had the sandwhich. Both were awesome. We also got onion rings & DS had a hot dog.
I was a little disappointed there was no indoor seating, but I survived. We usually use our meal time to get some AC and relax, today we'd have to do without the AC.
After lunch we found Pooh, Eyore and Tigger!
It was here that I spotted the only LGMH that I saw on our WHOLE TRIP! It was on a stroller being used as a ID tag. I pointed it out to DH, but of course he could care less. The stroller was parked...so I never got to see who was the driver or the child. I do know however Groucho was at AK that day too. More on that later!
We headed to Dinosaur to get FP.
The return time was about 45 minutes away. DS was yelling for "juice" so I went into McDonalds and got some lemonade for him, and a cup of ice for me. We went back to Primeval Whirl and let DH ride again, DH checked out the gift shop and we headed back to Dinosaur and found a shady spot to wait. DH went first and then watched DS while I went.
Our Everest FP time was getting close so we started heading in that direction when we saw that Nemo the musical was about to start so we go in line for that. It was cool in there but we didn't have a seat with a back and it was super crowded. We could barely see the show. DS was starting to nestle so I told DH we'll get him to sleep, then we will sneak out.
DS was asleep in about 5 minutes, we snuck out the side and put him in the stroller....mission accomplished.
Off to Everest!!!
DH and I debated on who was going first. He knew I was dying to ride...but so was he. I agreed to let him go first. I explored the area while I waited.....I ended up running into my brother and his family who had FPs in about 30 minutes for Everest. The conversation went something like this.
me: Hi guys, whats going on....
brother: We have FPs for Everest shortly.
me: Cool, Eric is on it now!!
brother: Are you sure...its broke down.
me: What? (I look up) hmmmm That guy in the front kinda looks like DH.....
brother: what color shirt is he wearing?
me: red...
brother: lets call his phone.
me: oh look that guy is digging for his phone...yep its DH alright.
Groucho's SIL happened to be on this same train apparently in front of my DH. He happened to take this pic. I discovered this while reading his TR.
While my brother was on the phone with DH he told him to wave at the crowd and tons of people started waving at DH.
DH said that when the train stopped a handrail automatically raised next to the stopped train and an announcement was made explaining that the CMs would be there shortly and help them exit and walk down 14 flights of stairs.
There was a passenger in the back which required additional assistance so she had to stay on longer until they were able to help her off.
They explained that 3 trains were running on Everest and there is a computer system that will shut the ride down (for safety reasons of course) if the trains become too close to one another.
They gave DH another FP to use on Everest. He was a little disappointed that was all he recieved after walking down 14 flights of stairs.
As he was walking towards us people were talking about him......"hey you where the guy in the RED SHIRT!" They starting asking him questions and giving him high fives. He thought he was a celebrity! He was happy to tell everyone about his experience.
It was now 3:30pm....would we ever get to ride Everest? Stay tuned to find out!
