TS: WCC, CP, Boma, Ohana, Chefs.

Since I benefited from reading these posts over and over I will do a quick review of our experiences.

Day 1 arrival day:

Lunch at Cosmic Rays:
Double Cheeseburger meal that I shared with the 2 year old. It was a great burger and yes I did order the extra bun so I could cut it up for my son who eats like a bird most of the tiime. The fries were great nice hot and crispy. The burger was very tasty and not greasy at all. Dessert was the sugar free brownie which was very choclaty. All the adults got the cheesburger meal. The kids got chicken fingers and home made chips where were out of this world. The kids didnt like them but the adults ate the chips and gave the kids the fries.

Dinner WCC:
This is where we chose to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday. I didnt tell anyone about the restaurant. The kids were shocked when they had straws and napkins thrown at them. Our waitress was a hoot and definately a player. We had the whole gambit of antics. Ketchup, huge drinks, hats, and she even made my 50 year old sister do the Hokey Pokey in front of everyone. As far as food goes. The ribs and chicken were our favorites. Very tasty and moist. The pulled pork was a favorite of the two men. The corn bread was moist and the kids gobbled it up and the corn on the cob was sweet and buttery. The only complaint I would have is that the shrimp were very small and I didnt care for the garlic flavor I prefer old bay seasoning. The birthday cake we ordered was amazing. Very moist and choclately (is that a word. LOL). It had nice decorations. She even got an over the hill hat and 50 confetti sprinkled all over the table (I sent these to IPO prior to arriving). This was my first time here and we will defiantely return.

Day 2 - Yak and Yeti take out and Boma.

Day 2:

Lunch was at the new take out counter for Yak and Yeti. We were allowed to use our dining plan for this. I took a picture of the menu:

We all ordered the honey chicken which was just a little to sweet for my taste. The chicken was very good white meat and not to heavy on the batter. My son loved this so I ended up with his kiddie meal which we paid OOP for and it was wonderful. I ordered the eggroll meal. The eggroll was crispy and had a great taste. Everyone had a bite and commented how good it was. It came with 2 sides so I chose both of them to be the chicken fried rice. This kiddie meal was huge and could feed 2 people without a problem. The sides of rice came in the smaller size chinese containers while the adult meals came in the larger size containers. The dessert was the mango tart thing and it was out of this world good. Kids dessert was the frozen lemonade and it was refreshing and nice on a hot day. Everyone liked this place and will return again.

Dinner was Boma:

This is my favorite place to eat in disney so I may be biased. The soups were wonderful once again we had the chicken curry chowder with just the right mix of sweetness and curry. The coconut seafood chowder which was full of seafood and did not dissappoint. The durban spiced chicken was moist and all the kids loved it. The prime rib was spicey and not at all fatty. I had a huge plate of the hummas and cracker type chips. All the dips were very good; the black olive one was my favorite. Dessert had a huge selection this time around. Casava cake (my favorite) raspberry tarts, zebra domes, tiger paws, banana bread pudding with choc sauce (my DH's favorite). For those who had never been here all but one said this was their favorite meal so far and they loved the food and atmosphere of the lodge. We will definately return.

Day 3:

Lunch was Hot Dogs at Caseys OOP. We just grabbed a couple to save room for Crystal Palace buffet prior to our MVMCP. What can I say; they were hotdogs.

Dinner CP one of our all time favorites. The food has not changed I liked the romaine salad with blue cheese and my DH had the medditerrainian pasta salad. It was fresh and crispy no complaints just not as good as I remember it being last time. The salmon was GREAT. I didnt try this last time and it was my favorite dish this time around. The turkey was nothing great but it was moist and not at all dry. The mashed potatoes were raved about at the table. The cranberry rolls were tasty and tasted just fresh baked. The desserts were not my favorite. I preferred to coconut flan, the key lime pie was to sweet for my taste, the cheesecake was generic store bought type. The kids loved the make your own sundae bar. I like this place but it is no longer a must do for me. I think next time we may skip it and try something else. The character interaction is wonderful and that is what keeps us coming back not the food.

Hi Liz,

Can't wait for the rest of your reviews. Boma is our favorite WDW buffet; and, of course, Jiko, is our favorite WDW restaurant.

Day 4:

Lunch was at Sunshine seasons. I liked this place. My DH had the grilled veggie sandwhich and said it was OK. I tasted it and it had a very unique taste. It also had alot of mustard on it. Thankfully DH likes mustard. I had the sushi pre made plate. Just your generic grocery store sushi but it was good and hit the spot. My sister had the asian selections. The lomein was very flavorful and not greasy, the chicken she chose was spicey and had a nice flavor to it, the rice was fluffy and tasty as well. I think the best selection was the Asian food. Our desserts were good. The Strawberry shortcake surprised me it had homemade whip cream and was not overly sweet. The key lime pie was fluffy and not thick and had a good flavor to it. The kids got the chicken meal and we didnt hear any complaints about it. I think this is a nice spot to have luch. I personally would opt to eat in the world showcase but the others in my group were not so adventurous. Half of us would eat here again the other half said the world showcase.

Dinner was at Chefs de France: This by far was my favorite meal of the trip. And I almost cancelled it due to the bad reviews recently. I am soooo happy I kept these ressies. Our waitress did ask to see our cards prior to ordering but it must be some kind of thing we they do in ths place. No biggie we showed our cards and got on to the ordering. Our server was very nice and she came back to the table often. I had no problems with service at all for this meal. We started with the roll. Which was a warm hot crusty french bread type roll. So yummy we asked for seconds for the baby since he loved this and gobbled it down. I asked the server what she recommended for appy and I ordered the flatbread with onions and bacon. This was very good. It was light and flaky with the perfect amount of onions and bacon with a cream sauce underneath. Great recommendation. My meal was the beef tenderloin. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection (I ordered it medium well). The pepper sauce that came with it was just perfect and made the meat taste even better. The cheese potatoes were over the top good. The cheese was sharp chedder and melted over the top until it was slightly crisp but not over done. I would go back just for these potatoes. The green beans were generic beans but had an interesting buttery sauce on them. (4 of us ordered this).

The other 4 ordered for appy (cheese plate - tasty but needed some crackers or something, were were using the rolls to try the different cheeses on) Lobster bisque good taste but the texture was different than what I expected (think tomatoe soup texture) Goat cheese salad was out of this world good. They had the Duck entree with sweetpotatoes and I forgot the veggie. I tried the duck and it was very good and cooked perfect also. The sweetpotatoes were a great side to this dish.

The kids got the cheese pastry which tasted fantastic. I paid OOP for my 2 year old and he had the salad which he gobbled up. It was tasty and had the perfect amount of dressing. 2 kids got the chicken finger meal with pasta ( the pasta was dry but they put butter on it) The other 2 got the hamburger meal (2 mini hamburgers split between one bun) This meal was good and came with fries.

For dessert we had the chocolate puffs with ice cream which I didnt care for, The cream brulee again not my favorite, and sorbet selection which was the best of the 3 in my opinion.

I have found a new favorite and will definately return to this place. We all loved this meal. All but one ranked this as there favorite of the trip.

The waitress also suggested wines and they went perfect with our entrees.

A++++ must do place from now on.

UP NEXT: Ohana

Enjoying the reviews! Glad that you liked Chefs de France, we're eating there in January. :mickeybar

Wow, excellent reviews - I am really hoping to try Yak & Yeti on our next trip. Was the menu you posted for take-out only? I am assuming they have a more extensive menu for TS :confused3

Looks like you had a whale of a time at WCC - that cake looked delicious :)

The menu posted is the CS place only. It had just opened up that day I think. The service was a little slow because all the cashiers had a manager behind them showing them how to ring up DP people vs OOP people. The food was fantastic and a great change from the other places. We loved this place for CS. The larger TS restarurant was in one of the photos and you could see them setting up for the first dinner service that evening.

WCC was over the top great, I am so glad I chose this spot for our celebration and my sister loved it. Great birthday spot.

Day 5 :

Lunch we had at Toy Story Pizza Planet. I had never been to this CS spot before and I am verry happy we tried it out. The pizza was thick crust pizza (like pizza hut pan pizza) which is what I like and the salad and pizza selection for DP was a great bargain IMO. We each got a different one, the cheese, peperoni, and veggie all with salads and a side. It was yummy and we will probably make this our stop at MGM from now on because every other place we have tried at MGM was down right in edible.

Dinner: We went to Ohana for dinner this evening. We tried this place last trip and had a fantastic time. The food was great. The salad dressing is one of my favorties tangy and sweet. The shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection ( I mostly ate this for dinner). My DH loved the potatoes and said they were his favorite. The sticky wings had a good taste hot and spicy but the skin had to be removed it was a little fatty. The meats were moist and tasty except the sausage. I liked the turkey and beef the best. The kids all ordered other food, 2 hamburgers and 2 hotdogs both came with fries. They gobbled them up so they must have been good. Dessert was yummy we love the bread pudding and had an ample amount for our table of 12 plus 2 babies. They brought out one large dish with just the bread pudding and 1 large dish with just vanilla ice cream.

6 people tried this for the first time and liked the meal and experience 3 of us it was our second time. My thoughts are this. Our server was not as good this time. The best description is efficient but not friendly. We were not rushed or ignored but last time our server hung at the table for a while explaining everything and talking with us. We never had to ask for refills he was just always there. This time our waitress just did her job nothing over the top like last year. We do like this place and will return. Hopefully with a different server. I dont feel the food quality has slipped just the service.

Day 6:

This was our last official day at Disney (we spent 2 days off property) so only 6 days of disney reviews.

We had breakfast once again at the CL lounge and headed out to Epcot for our final day. We decided to eat at the Tangerine Cafe for late lunch/early dinner.

3 of us had the Chicken and Lamb platter. OMG this was fantastic. The meat was seasoned well (Being of Greek Decent I am a strong critic of this type of food). The sides of couscous and humma with bread were done well also. The bread was fresh and I used this to dip in my hummas. We also ordered a side of the olive salad and it was wonderful. Tangy and very tasty. I shared this because the salt content must be through the roof. The baklava was a little hard but had good flavor. I also ordered 2 cups of mint tea to go with our dessert and it reminded me of my grandfathers tea on the holidays. I really liked this place and will make this a must stop from now on. Great value for a CS stop.

We used our remaining CS meals at the French Bakery and took some pastry home. The hits were: Apple tart, Almond paste pastry, and the fruit tart. Everything was wonderful but those 3 stood out.

Overall our family loved all the places we ate. Must returns are Boma, Chefs, and Tangerine Cafe. Maybes are Ohana and WCC. We like to try different things and that is why I posted the other 2 as maybes. Probably wont return is CP even though this was one of our favorites in the past.

I hoped these helped someone in the planning phase. We cant wait to return!!!!

Great reviews, Liz! I'm glad you got the full course of antics at WCC, I was worried you would get a dud server or night. Chefs de France sounds great, I'll have to put that on my to-do list.

Great to read a very positive review of Chefs, I've been a bit worried about that one, now I'm glad I kept it!:thumbsup2
