Part 2

We planned to get up early and leave the campsite arriving at Disney early afternoon. This was not to be. There were a number of factors conspiring against us – the weather, the kids and finally the weather!:lmao:

It had rained overnight so the tent was wet when we woke, we had breakfast and assessed the situation. A lot of shaking removed most of the water and we packed up the insides while the kids found the pedal cars (they were first to them and were told off for using them so early). The sun wasn’t warm enough to dry off the tent so we used the kids camping towels (they were only for the beach anyway as we had new Disney towels for swimming). It was pretty much successful so we packed up but the campsite was sandy and we got a bit dirty but decided to change when we got to Disney.

I checked the time and ran along for baguettes and ham before the butcher and baker closed and we finally dragged the kids back to the car after a long goodbye to their friends they’d only just met a few days before.

We set off to Disney with the delicious bread sitting between Clare and me inspiring me to get there ASAP even though it was a 3 hour drive…. Once we got on the A road, everyone fell asleep and this lovely food (including the lovely apple pie and raison rond) was just begging me to eat it but I continued for another 2.5 hours before Clare woke up along with Amélie a bit hungry. Clare started making up sandwiches, we paid the toll and got onto the Paris roads, and saw the Eiffel Tower – Johannes woke up at this point and we all marvelled at it as we were in heavy traffic. After lots of lane changing, we got to Disney but by then the light rain I had experienced earlier turned into monster downpour. :cloud9::eek:

I checked us into the Cheyenne and was served pretty quickly though the CM I was dealing with spoke German and the one next to me didn’t so they swapped. I was allowed to choose our building (you’re a big boy now I was told having stayed there before) and I opted for the Wyatt Earp. We got a lovely refurbished room that was at the back and overlooked the drop off for the bendy bus so we were back in the hotel in minutes at night. :banana:We unpacked the car using the buggy and waterproof cover to keep things dry and we both had a quick shower as the rain was bouncing so the park was off limits until it stopped/slowed down. We were only going to get two days and I expected it to be busy so there were only 2 breakfasts available and I opted for the 7.30 for Friday and 7am on Saturday rather than the 9.45 both days. The CM disappeared and came back with more times but they were all in the middle of EMH so I stuck to what we had – nobody likes being up that early in our house! There were no park breakfast available

We finally got to the park around 5pm – a lot later than I wanted but it wasn’t raining. After getting in, the kids were quite happy and began to remember things from last May. We checked the wait times and BTM was closed and the CM’s did an almost Stepford Wives smile when I asked if it would reopen in the evening, they said they were unsure. We headed for POTC first and then did IASW then Dumbo but decided to leave PP for EMH as there was a 45 minute wait. We visited the dragon and upstairs in the castle as well.

By this time we were getting hungry so headed for Annette’s. We were disappointed at the queue size outside but as we approached we realised it was a show outside and there was virtually no queue so we watched a bit of the hula hoops show and then went in, waiting for less than 10 mins. Clare had the be-bop burger, I had the mega-burger, Amélie had the hotdog and Johannes the nuggets. The kids wanted milkshake but they weren’t on the kids menu so Clare had strawberry (lovely) and I had the chocolate (a bit sickly).

We saw a waitress on roller skates as well both upstairs and downstairs (same one – she did well walking up and down holding onto the banner for dear life) and we had a couple of songs sung by the CMs and some girls (customers) roped in downstairs. We were in the same booth as last time upstairs! :woohoo:

So the food? Clare enjoyed her burger, Amélie liked her hotdog, Johannes did ok with his nuggets and my burger? I’ll never eat another one again after that…..it was just so good! Best burger I’ve ever had as well as the most expensive! We got Shareholder discount and the bill was around €60 or so (I have the receipt somewhere).

We went back to the park in time for Fantillusion parade which was brilliant then the fireworks (tame but the kids liked them). We headed home after a happy first day with the grim prospect of a 7.30am breakfast…we don’t do mornings that early…. :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: well I do but not the kids!

A great day inspite of the weather :)

At first I thought you were going to say the burger was awful and had put you off eating them for life! :rotfl2:

Love the photos. We were knackered after Fantillusion too - but it's worth it :goodvibes
