Due to a problem when paying for our recent trip to DLP we were offered free tickets to Buffalo Bills. This was excellent as we had been considering going but had read mixed reports and so were reluctant to spend so much on this in case we didn’t enjoy it.
The tickets were for our 2nd night at the 6.30 showing. We were told to arrive early for the show but didn’t want to be there too early as we’d read that the queuing area downstairs was very crowded with limited seating. We arrived approx 25 mins before the show was due to start. We showed our tickets and were allocated to a coloured section and given our seat numbers. We were given green- Montana section. We were also asked if we wanted a vegetarian or pork free meal.
We then went to collect our hats with a green band round them.
We wandered over to where the steps lead up to this section. The bar was open but we didn’t bother buying a drink as it was very crowded. We were then treated to some entertainment- plate spinning, magic tricks etc as well as music.
The servers from each section then gathered on the steps and singing began. The servers were joining in and clapping their hands.

We were then allowed to go upstairs.
We had excellent seats- a few rows up so we weren’t too near the dust but weren’t right at the back either. We also faced the stadium from the end rather than the sides which meant we had an excellent view.

The tables were set with metal plates, bowls etc and a basket of bread between us. The servers came round and asked who was having a children’s meal and removed bowls. And also brought jugs of Coke, Beer and Water to fill glasses which they continued to fill throughout the night.
We were then served with Chilli. It was delicious – just spicy enough but not too hot. It was also a nice sized portion. DD nibbled at some bread.
They then brought the children’s meal. The servers were carrying a massive tray round their necks which had all the food on- sausages, chicken legs, potatoes and veg. It was all done very efficiently considering the number of people they were serving in such a short time.
After that our meal arrived and was served in the same way- Ribs, chicken, potatoes, veg. Again it was delicious and DD really enjoyed hers.
Dessert was apple crumble and ice cream for adults and ice lolly for children.

Throughout the meal the show was going on. We were entertained by Buffalo Bill, Annie Hall and a shooting exhibition in which members of the audience were chosen to take part- one from each team. DD put her hand up but wasn’t lucky enough to be chosen. A team of cowboys then took part in several games. We had to shout and cheer our team and were encouraged to bang our cutlery and plates on the table (this was before the food was served), wave our hats and generally make a lot of noise- Yeeha!!!
The green team won the first game. We then won the 2nd but were disqualified. In the 3rd we were in the final heat against another team and they were quicker but the arrow fell out of the target (or whatever it was) and so we were awarded the point. The green section were getting louder and louder.
There were then more games and displays all whilst we were eating.
At the end they wanted members of the audience to ride in the carriage to ‘protect the gold’. Both DH and I put our hands up but weren’t chosen. As the green team had won the most points we were all awarded with a gold coin (chocolate of course)

It was all over too quickly. We had really enjoyed our evening - even more so since it was free.
Some reports have commented on the bad food and the way it was served but we thought it perfectly adequate for the number of people they were catering for. It was the type of food that probably would be eaten in the wild west. And the way it was served was all part of the theme. If you want a meal where you eat from proper china this isn’t the place to go but where else can you bang you plates on the table and shout for food!!!! I loved eating out of the metal bowls and even looked in the shop to buy some but couldn’t find any.
Although we wouldn’t go again in the near future (simply because we wouldn’t enjoy it as much so soon after) we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone and would say it is worth the money for entertainment alone.

I couldnt find a review thread to add this to so had to start a new thread.

Glad you enjoyed it, to me BBWWS is the best attraction at DLP and the best Disney show Disney has done anywhere. A real treat. We have been 16 times in the last 15 years, and I still do not grow tired of it. It is slightly different every time!

We went to the show last time we were at DLPR, not expecting it to be our cup of tea really, but doing it for the kids sake. However, we had a brilliant time - the show, the crowd involvement and the food were all fantastic. So much so that we're going again in July.

It sounds like it will be woth booking this show. I'll see if
I can book it next week. Love the idea of a dinner and show
the evening before my birthday. I may take the later show, as
I suspect it won't be as crowded. We'll see what I decide.

Can one book a reservation and then pay on arrival?

I am afraid you do have to pay when you book. Also, about the crowds, all views are good, and the larger the crowd, the better the atmosphere. Therefore I would say book the show time that best suits your tummy.

I agree. I dont think the atmosphere would be the same if it was half empty.

When in the main arena you dont feel crowded it is only in the waiting area.

Based on your review I have booked this for our stay in 3 weeks time. Looking forward to enjoying it as much as you.

We love this show. We've been 3 times and planning on going next time we visit. Glad you had a good time :thumbsup2

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Be prepared to shout and Yee ha a lot. You will probably come out with a very hoarse voice.

:cheer2: :cheer2:

We've seen the show twice, the first time full price and I thought it was worth every penny, the second time I probably wouldn't have booked quite so soon again if it hadn't been during the Kids go Free promotion, but it's a fantastic fun evening and we enjoyed it both times.:)

Found this old thrread of ours so bumping it up again as may answer some of the questions people have been asking about the show.

As you can see we really enjoyed it.

ahhhh thanks for this, sounds like you had a great time. I think if i was going on my own i would deffo go, but from previous threads about going with 2 year ive decided not to go and go somwhere else instead.

Maybe ill go next christmas when dd will be 3 she may enjoy it more :)
