DH (41) Funder of trip and generous earner of frequent flier miles to get us there appreciates all the Disney planning, not so thrilled with the no dinners thing.

Trip Dates: 1/7/05 1/15/05

Its Epcot day today! We snooze a little, then hit the breakfast buffet and were off. We arrive just after opening and head straight through to Mission Space, but its down, so we go to Test Track. We only have to wait about 5 minutes and we all loved it! We checked on Mission Space, but still down, so we ride Test Track again. After this, its time for the Character Caravan, so we head back to the Ball for the autograph bonanza.
By this time, World Showcase has opened up, so we head to Mexico. The ride there is closed for renovation, so we just take pix of the kids with big sombreros on and continue on around the World, snapping pictures of boys in each country with different hats on. We get as far as Italy and decide to eat lunch at Alfredos they have spaghetti, my kids favorite.
Since we are coming back later in the week for EMH, we decide to head back for a swim and finish EPCOT later. We hit Spaceship Earth on the way out, then were back to the hotel. This is the first night of our trip that we didnt have a dinner planned, so we decide to try Bahama Breeze right there in the Marriott Village. The atmosphere was great and I loved my drink I think it was called a Bahamatini??? It had three different kinds of fruit slushies in one martini glass with a sidecar of something (rum, tequila, cant remember) attached to the glass.
After dinner, we head to Downtown Disney where we split up. DH takes Thrill-Seeker and Drama King to Disney Quest and I haul Binky Boy around to shop. We have our cell phones with us to make plans for meeting up later. Heres where I begin a most memorable part of the trip
Now I love to shop and BB is quite used to having to go along with me and is pretty good about it. Im able to get about 1 ½ hours under my belt when he needs something to drink. We pop into the Earl of Sandwich for a quick beverage and he and I sit there together for awhile. This is when he starts in with a line of questioning about God and Heaven. I talk to him about what we believe and remind him what hes learned in Sunday School and then were off to another store and a ride on the little carousel they have there. We go into the candy store to buy some gifts and he is still talking about God and whether there is candy in Heaven. This leads to me telling him that since we dont need our bodies any more when were in Heaven, we also probably dont need food. Why dont we need our bodies any more? he asks, which leads to me telling him about bodies not lasting forever, so they eventually die and we believe our spirit goes to Heaven. OK apparently death is a new revelation to Binky Boy and hes learning that we are all going to die someday. And hes learning about this in the Happiest Place on Earth! This is when the tears begin and for the next hour, I am shopping with a sobbing 4 year old who keeps repeating Were all going to die. Now I have re-assured him over and over that death is not imminent and we all have many years ahead of us (hopefully), but he cant get beyond it. I finally wind up my shopping trip and drive over to pick up the Disney Questers, who are informed upon entry into the vehicle that they, too, are all going to die. They dont care, cause they just had a blast at Disney Quest and cant wait to tell me all about it. DH tells me that they could have spent more than the three hours there that they were allotted by me, the shopping mom. The favorite activity was building the virtual roller coaster and then riding it in the simulated ride. Also, all the arcade games were included with our Plus option on the MYW tix.
Anyway, thats the end of Day 5 in the Happiest Place on Earth (and were all going to die).
