I actually picked up on the wake up call today at 7:30. Dd and Dh didn't stir and were still snoring away and I felt soooo tired and it WAS Father's Day so Dh would probably appreciate sleeping in... We got up early yesterday, after all....so I layed back down and rested for awhile...but alas, could not fall asleep so I finally got up and snuck down to the food court and picked up some beignets to wake up Dd and Dh with. I figured I would have a better chance of getting them up with these. As I walked back past the pool, I began to imagine how nice it would be to just lounge around there for awhile....hmmmmm....

I walked in the door and made some coffee before waking the sleeping beauties. "Look what I have" Dd opened one eye, saw a treat, and hopped right out of bed! Dh smelled coffee so that helped, though he did not hop out of bed. Dd gave Daddy his card and key chain, which he liked very much and we enjoyed our breakfast treat. I told them about my thoughts on the pool and Dd was right there with me so we slipped into our bathing suits and hit the pool. So much for our early morning at AK! The pool felt great, however....and I was feeling a bit under the weather this morning. We swam for a couple hours then got ready for AK even though Dd begged to just have a pool day.

We didn't have many days left, however, and I really wanted to see more of AK before we left so off we went for another HOT afternoon at AK. Once again we stopped for lunch first when we arrived. We went to Tusker House again and Dh had the chicken and I had the salmon, which was very good. While we ate, Dd got FPs for the safari.

After lunch, we wandered around Africa for about 20 min until it was time for our safari ride. We all enjoyed this and saw a fair amount of animals though I have nothing to compare it to as this was our first safari ride. This is a really cool ride even though, for whatever reason, I was feeling increasingly worse as the day wore on. Maybe it was the days of heat, the humidity we're not used too, too many restaurant meals, a virus. Whatever it was, the bumpy safari ride didn't help...but I did get some good pics! All was not lost and I was determined to see the Lion King show so on we went...

We got to the show at the tail end of the line so we walked right in and sat down in the giraffe section. I was glad it was air conditioned, but I wished it was cooler. The show was fabulous as I imagined it would be and we all enjoyed it a lot. On the way out of the show we stood and played by the big misters to cool off and that felt very good. Next we headed toward Asia.

Wow! I loved this section of the park. It was beautiful! Dd and Dh got a frosty cone and I got a cold water and sat on a bench while I waited for them. We watched the monkeys for awhile and then walked the trail there to see the tigers. We loved this trail! It was stunningingly beautiful. Every time we saw a tiger, it was framed by a gorgeous surrounding...I got a couple really pretty pictures here. I must go back here and spend more time in cooler weather when I'm feeling better!

By this time, I was needing to go 'home' so we headed out...Dd stopped for a little pin trading and to pick up a t shirt she wanted and I stopped at the picture place to view the photopass pics we had had taken earlier. I forgot to mention that when we arrived there was a 'wacky' photographer taking really good pics...He was able, through his antics, to get people's 'real' smiles and expressions. These pics came out sooo good. I got my favorite picture of the trip...a close up of Dd holding Simba and laughing...It sooo captures her essence. So even though I felt awful, I was happy to get some great pictures and that I got to see my 'must sees' at AK.

Back at the resort, I took some tylenol and fell into bed. Dd watched Disney Channel for awhile and Dh napped as well. We all needed some down time. After about and hour, Dd and Dh went to the pool. They swam for a couple of hours while I slept some more. When they got back, I was still out of it so Dh went down to the food court and got a chicken dinner and heated up some other left overs from the fridge and we all ate dinner in the room. I just had the mashed potatoes and corn from the dinner.

I was starting to feel a bit better so I ventured down to package pick up to get all the packages and gave Dh his t shirts for Father's Day. He liked them a lot. Then he called his dad and I called mine afterward. The rest of the evening we hung out and watched t.v. and all fell asleep early. We called for a ps for breakfast at Kona since we didn't use our TS credits today and planned on going to Typhoon Lagoon tomorrow for some R&R! I hoped I'd feel better in the morning!

That's too bad that you weren't feeling well. Seems like a nice day anyway.
