Today we slept in until around 10, which felt good and then headed out to Epcot to see Future World. By the time we arrived, it was almost noon and we walked right on Spaceship Earth. I thought it was cool how they transported you up to the top of the sphere, but the ride was a bit 'lackluster' for me...Dd did not find it amusing in the least so we went over to The Living Seas after that. I knew she would enjoy this.
We watched the movie first and then boarded the hydrolaters. This was a fun place and I was quite impressed with the aquarium. We waited about 20 min. for Turtle Talk and Dd sat up front with the kids. We all enjoyed this a lot. Ingenious! So glad it's coming to DL soon! After Crush, we wandered around enjoying the exhibits and taking pics. Dd stopped at all the 'teaching stations' and learned about turtles, shark teeth etc... We were ready for lunch and had to drag Dd out of there before Dh and I collapsed of starvation. I swear people were giving me dirty looks pulling my daughter away from these educational experinces as she begged to stay!
We headed over to the Land for lunch at the new food court. I had read a couple of good reviews and found out that they were right on! This place is awesome! A food court with fresh, healthy selections....It was a first for me.
I ordered a grilled chicken salad with yummy greens and a great vinigrette dressing, Dh got a cold ahi salad-very good and Dd got a chicken noodle stir fry with sides of applesauce and broccoli..the desserts here were good too-a case full of all kinds of yummy pastries...we picked a selection and shared. We also got sides with the dining plan here so I picked up 3 bags of cheese popcorn for snacks...I was so happy to find these...a healthy snack without hydrogenated oils and preservatives is usually unheard of at a theme park! We all felt a lot better after our lunch as we really hadn't eaten any breakfast except for Dd...I was getting crabby and the nice lunch was just what I needed.
After lunch we did the boat ride with fastpass and then watched the circle of life movie. We enjoyed both of these, though Dd was getting a little bored. We would have done Soarin', but the wait was 90 min. and fastpass was too far away. We've ridden this many many times at CA Adventure and it is one of our favorites, so we didn't NEED to do it at Epcot.
Next we hit the Imagination Pavilion and rode with Figment. The ride was just okay, but the Imageworks was a blast. First we played around at the music stations. Then we watched the 'nutty professor' He pulled Dd out of the audience and had her put on professor glasses and a lab coat to help him out. He took her picture and did a little show about digital photography with figment. It was very cute and lots of fun for Dd! After that we played for a long time on the computers changing ourselves into flowers, dogs and kitties. Dd loved this and we emailed our pics to people at home. Her kitty turned out really cute! Next we had a photo done of all of us that is put on the Disney backround. We picked the '4 Parks 1 World' backround where we are pictured in the front of the monorail. Turned out really cute!
After all this fun with photography, we headed back to World Showcase to see U.k. and Canada since we missed them on our first day. Dd got her passport stamped and we got to visit with Piglet and Tigger...then Mary Poppins and Alice. We enjoyed an ale and sat on the benches in U.K. Lovely resting place. I got a great picture of Dd in the phone booth. Canada was great as well. The gardens were gorgeous! Dd bought a stuffed husky in Canada and enjoyed bringing it everywhere for the next couple of days. She and Daddy looked for pressed pennies and we enjoyed the scenery.
Next, we headed back to Japan for those fabulous melon shaved ice at the Kaki Gori stand. Then I got a henna tattoo on my ankle in Morocco and Dh had a moroccan coffee while we watched a show of Mo'Rockin'. We could spend days and days at World Showcase and never get tired of it!
It was now time for us to start heading over to the Boardwalk for our PS at Flying Fish. We enjoyed the walk over in spite of the heat. It is a lovely area and it was our first time seeing it. We checked in and were seated right away. Once again, it felt good to sit down in the cool restaurant and relax. We liked the food here, but not nearly as much as CA Grill, which I've often seen it compared to. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio and Dh had crabcakes and I had calimari and we shared. The crabcakes were the best. Dd had a salad...full pieces of romaine to dip in ranch dressing...she loved this and ate every last bite. It was a nice change from the usual kid fare, which doesn't often include veggies! For dinner Dh had the Mahi with a philo tart, I had the potato wrapped snapper and Dd had steak and fries. Everything was good, but my entree was just to heavy for me...It would have tasted better on a cold, snowy day. For dessert Dh had the chocolate vahlrona souffle and I had a peach tart with caramel ice cream. Dd didn't want any dessert! That was a first. I told you there is too much dessert with the dining plan!
After dinner, we walked a bit on the boardwalk, then took the friendship boat back to Epcot where we caught the resort bus and headed back 'home' to bed.
