Our plan for today was to hit Typhoon Lagoon...but we decided, by default, to sleep in instead. We were still on CA time and weren't in a hurry to start getting up early. So we putzed around, enjoying the beautiful river out the window as we got ready for the day. Finally we stepped out the door, down the stairs and onto the waiting boat. Nice. We sooo enjoyed the captain...forgot his name, but he had a very dry sense of humor and was very entertaining. He kept yelling to people on shore, "Hey, your shoes are untied," and they would look at their feet. The funniest part was that most of them were barefoot or wearing sandals.

When we arrived at DTD, we went straight to Earl of Sandwich and got in line. We were hungry as we got up so late that we hadn't eaten breakfast so the sandwiches tasted very good. I had the turkey with cranberry and Dh had the provolone cheese something or other and Dd had the classic PB&J...with cookies for dessert, which we saved for later. Everything was scrumptious.

After that yummy lunch, we made a 'quick stop' at World of Disney to pick up some princess panties. (Wouldn't you know with all my extensive planning ahead, I forget one of the basics :rolleyes1 ) Well, an hour later we finally emerged from the store...I should have known we couldn't just run in and out with a 7 year old shopaholic with $20 to spend. After much debate, she finally bought a Tink earring holder complete with earrings.

Finally, we headed to Disney Quest, which was our original destination. We went straight to the Jungle Cruise and waited about 10 min. We enjoyed this experience. Different that anything we have done before. Next we waited about 20 min. to do Pirates. This was a lot of fun. We would have done it again, but for the line. We then played around with the different things in the creativity area and sat down at the animation class when it came up. We had a great time drawing Goofy. Dh and my Goofys were so different from each other, yet I liked them both. We bought our pics for the scrapbook and the Animation Academy pin. We spent the rest of our time playing easy 70's games. Dd enjoyed this and so did we as these were our high school favorites. After a bit, we decided to head back to POFQ to swim, as Dd hadn't been on the serpent slide yet and was itching to try it. (It is closed at night) I bought a drawing book on the way out as it was so much fun drawing Goofy.

We returned by bus, which was slightly quicker than the boat and spent a couple of hours swimming. Dd had fun on the slide and went over and over again, but I could never get a good picture of her...too many people in the way or she whizzed by too fast...oh well. Dh took over at the pool and I went up to get ready for dinner at CA Grill. They joined me shortly and soon we were all cleaned up and ready to go to dinner. I took some really pretty pictures of Dd all dressed up for dinner, standing on the balcony. Then we were off...

We took the bus, then the monorail to the Contemperary, and arrived about an hour early. We explored the resort a bit then checked in at the 2nd floor restaurant counter about a half hour early and were whisked away on the special elevator and seated immediately. We didn't have a window seat, but still a lovely view right in the middle of the main dining room. We agreed this restaurant is one of the best overall dining experiences we have ever had. The atmosephere is stunning. We had a wonderful time! The food was delicious! Dh and I both had salmon to die for! Flown in daily from Alaska. Since we were on the dining plan we went all out, ordering whatever we wanted and stuffing ourselves. Dh had the Snake in the Grass sushi appetizer and it was amazing. I had a delicious crab and lobster salad and the waiter brought Dd goldfish crackers while she waited for her pizza. We ordered the most expensive chardonnay as we weren't paying for the dinner...Mer Soleil- (we have since picked up a bottle at Trader Joes for 36.00!) Everything was so perfect. This was my favorite evening of our trip. Just as we finished our dinner, Wishes started and we walked outside to the viewing deck and enjoyed that. (I enjoyed this moment so much that I bought the cd and we have played it every night at bedtime) We came back to our table and dessert and cappucino were brought right out. I had the chocolate vahlrona cake with mint chip ice cream, Dh had a wonderful meyer lemon buttermilk cake with lemon sorbet and Dd had a chocolate sundae. Our waiter was lovely taking lots of time with us and showing Dd all the hidden Mickeys around the dining room and outside. On a side note, I have read lots of posts saying this isn't a good kid place, but we found it perfect. We spent a little over 3 hours and Dd loved it. We could get up and look at the view outside and had the fireworks to break things up which was perfect for her as she didn't have to sit still for too long. Our waiter had her walking all over looking for hidden Mickeys as well as drawing on the paper table 'cloth'. All in all, it was a great dinner.

By the time we finished dessert, it was almost 11:30...just in time to go to MK for extra magic hours! We hopped right on the monorail and were in the MK just as Spectromagic was ending and the people were flooding out of the park. We walked right up to the cast members in front and got our wrist bands and were off...Space Mountain was first with about a 20 min. wait. We loved this as we hadn't ridden in years at DL. Next we enjoyed Pooh and tea cups. Then Haunted Mansion and over to Big Thunder. Rode that twice in a row with no wait and finally rode Splash in a log all by ourselves! That has never happened. It was almost 2 a.m. when I purchased our picture. (I put it in the scrapbook with character stickers in the empty seats so it looks like we are riding with the characters...too funny!)

We were obviously still on CA time as Dd was still rearing to go at 2 a.m.! We caught the bus back to the resort and got to bed...watched a little t.v. then sleep.....Another incredible day!
