Our first Universal trip....(long, I'm ranting)

We're die hard WDW fans, but since the kids are older I thought we'd give Universal a try this trip. I ordered my tickets online with a 'will call' pickup. The idea being to enter my secret code, get my tickets and head out. Only one of the 'will call' machines was working, thus a line. (Defeats the purpose of online!) We got to the gate and one of the tickets wouldn't scan. The attendant accused me of mishandling the ticket. I POLITELY told her that they were printed about 2 minutes before and I had done nothing to them in the mean time. People behind me started huffing and moaning.....
She looked at the ticket and said I had purchased them last week and something must have happened to them. AGAIN, I told her that I BOUGHT them last week, but they were PRINTED minutes ago. (By now I have lost any time advantage to buying online)
We had to stand in line at the guest services for 20 minutes to have them print a new ticket.

I understand machines break down or won't scan, etc. but I do not understand her attitude. For heavens sake, she's the first person a guest sees at the park, you'd think Universal would hire someone with better people skills!

It was a bad start. I guess WDW has spoiled us with their "Happy" workers. (I've never had one disagree with me, much less actually argue)

Oh well, we'll give them another chance tomorrow. Especially since they have my money. :D

I really WANT it to be a great place since it's less expensive than WDW.

Thanks for letting my rant and rave. I'm now taking Tylenol and going to bed!

It's a shame you were treated with such disrespect. That should never happen. I also purchased my tickets online, but I had Universal mail them to me. I guess that was a good move on my part. Hope that employee was only a fluke and that everyone is pleasant when you are there in the future. Enjoy the day tomorrow!!!

Okay, day 2 was MUCH better. We still ran into several employees with attitudes. Hubby and I were totally shocked by their lack of knowledge. First the parking attendant directed us (and about 4 other cars) right out of the parking lot and thru the exit--right after we had paid. It took about 10 minutes to maneuver back around the block. We told the guy at the gate and he grunted!

Once inside the park it was GREAT. The lines were virtually non-exsistent. We rode MIB 3 times in a row, then moved to Back/Future (2). The guys hopped over and rode Hulk and Spidy several times. They could have done more but Hubby said he was coastered out and the kids aren't old enough to go alone.

My daughter got all the characters she wanted except Lucy. (I think read here that there was a Lucy?)

We will certianly go back next year, I just won't expect any friendly employees.

Thanks so much for posting. I'm glad you had a good time despite some not so friendly people.
