Day 3, August 15th.
We were so tired, so we slept late, 9:00 and got out by 10, and on to MGM.
The first thing we saw as we entered the park was a giant Stitch. The first thing we heard was screaming from Tower of Terror.
We went straight for Rockin RollerCoaster, which was not running yet, so we swiped our cards and went over to Tower of Terror. I was not quite ready for ToT, so my boys and I went on to Star Tours and then Muppet Vision 3D. Both were big hits with the boys. Then we all met up again and watched Beauty and the Beast. Then we went on Rockin Rollercoaster, which I think was the best ride at WDW. The boys liked it, but did not want to go on again. The girls ended up riding 5 times.
After Beauty and the Beast, I decided that Disney rides were tame by my standards and I was ready to by shooken up a little. The girls and I and Avery got in line for ToT. Rory passed, he scares easily, and wanted to go back to Star Tours.
If you like to be scared Tower of Terror is the ride for you!!! The anxiety just builds as you proceed into the boiler room and listen to the clanking and thunder. It was raining outside by this time also. Avery got scared at the last minute and decided to pass and wait with his sister, while I went on with the other. I was so scared, but decided, no matter how terrifiing the ride was, it would at least be over in like 5 seconds. It was exhilerating! Definitely not as bad as I thought, I really enjoyed it!
We then spent some time outside the giant Mickey sorcer hat, while the boys played in the interactive kiosks. We went to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, which ended before the last stunt due to lightening.
We all met up again for lunch/dinner at Hollywood and Vine. Since we ate at 3:30, it was pretty much empty. The buffet selections were very nice, prime rib, roast turkey, pasta with shrimp. What did the kids eat? Chicken Nuggets. Well I guess they were a bit tired and queasy from the rides and the heat, because they barely touched the sundae bar!
We got in line to watch the Stars in Motorcars parade, but again, ended up waiting in the wrong place. We squeezed in on the curb, but then it started to pour. By the time it stopped and the parade started, we were kind of far back. At least the nice people around us let the kids squeeze in front. I got some pics, but I had to lift the camera up.
At the end of the day, we went on to Fantasmic, for which we had priority seating. It was a very nice show, but I was more impressed with the Spectromagic parade and fireworks from MK.
We waiting about 45 minutes before the show started and I know others waiting 2 hours or so. The bleachers are tough on your back! The crowd was enormous. People all around us were speaking different languages and with different accents. Then they started doing the wave, which everyone seemed to be familiar with. It was a fun, giddy time.
I think the girls liked MGM the best, there was a little more for older kids to do there. I really enjoyed the Hollywood atmosphere and got a real kick out of the New York street in the back.
