We arrived at the Fort on Friday after Thanksgiving. As is usually the case, I select the line that goes the slowest upon check in. And as is also usually the case, I go through the trouble of backing up and creaking over to another line, only to see my original line all of a sudden speed up. Thankfully, the Disney check in specialist put me out of my misery and came out to take our information while still in line.
Her name was Naddie and she was great. We told her that we were complete imbeciles when it comes to booking, but if she could find it at all possible, we wanted to be in a preferred loop. She said were pretty full, but well see what we can do. She came back with our keys and information. Site 201, youre all set!
My wife and I looked at each other with glee! Our daughter was zonked out in the back of the car. We drove to the site and it was absolutely perfect. It was right next to a comfort station (great with a 4 year old), and near all the settlement stuff. We couldnt have picked a better location ourselves. We dont do much in terms of decorating because the car if packed full of other stuff we never tend to use while we camp, but here it is in all its glory:
The first night, we had some family out for fun at the sing-a-long. Chip-and-Dale was their name-O.
My daughter and her cousin roasting marshmallows:
My girl watching 101 Dalmatians. Me... sleeping.
Decorations around the Fort were off the chain.
The most amazing thing to me was that I called TeeTime on a whim after we got camp setup around 2:30pm. No reservation. Introduced myself, again explained that my wife and I were buffoons when it came to planning. "Do you have any carts?" ... For what dates? ... "Um... today?" .... silence ..... Anxious foot tapping and the urge to hang up... I can bring you one at 5:30pm. .... "Dude!"
We rode ponies:
We took in some shows:
And we had a wonderful time! Which was the point of it all. And luckily, we have booked for next year for the entire week of Thanksgiving!
