A quick recap:

Day 1: Plane trip down, towncar ride, check in at CR. DW and I had a wonderful, lightning-lit dinner at CG.

Day 2: Breakfast at CRT. Whirlwind tour of Fantasy and Tomorrowland. Disappointing dinner at Mexico. Toured the World Showcase. Illuminations.

Day 3: A day at AK with lunch at AKL. Dinner at Kona Cafe. A fun but soggy NoJ.

Day 4: Thunderstorms! MGM in the afternoon (no RnR ). A dry and wonderful NoJ.

Day 5: Church and the Holy Land Experience. Shopping at DDM. Dinner at BW.

Day 6: Day off! Breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Short tour of MK (PoC and Splash Mountain). DVC presentation. Tea at GF. Evening at DQ and PI.

Day 7: BB. FDP at the Brown Derby. Fantasmic.

Day 8: We spent almost all of our final full day at WDW at the Epcot, which is by far my favorite of the parks. We arrived during the Extra Magic Hour, grabbed a Test Track FP, and headed to Mission Space. We walked right on! I hadn't expected that!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
DW and I had been waiting for Mission: Space for more than a year, and we were not disappointed. Although I get very motion sick, and am starting to avoid the high intensity rides a bit (would NEVER do the teacups), neither DW or I had any problem with Mission: Space. I think it is critical that you keep your eyes on the screen in front of you and not look around. It is truly a unique experience, and I am sure I will do it again (probably several times) the next time I go to WDW.

After Mission: Space, we headed over to Test Track, where the ride was non-functional for about 10 minutes. Fortunately the line wasn't long, and we were able to get right on after it started up again.

We cut across to the Land and rode the ride, and then saw the new Imagination ride (Figment is still cool, but I liked the ride better before). For lunch, we had PS arrangements at the Akershus, and enjoyed the ethnic buffet there very much. The warmed food was excellent, as well.

After lunch, we headed off to Body Wars and then the Universe of Energy. Then we trecked over to the BW through the International Gateway (VERY hot). I actually took a wrong turn, and we wound up walking all the way through BCV to get to the DVC offices. All in all, it took about two hours to get the DVC deal complete (I'd forgotten some vital items in our CR room), but when it was all done, we "Owned a Piece of the Magic". Ready to come back next time!

Finally, we headed back to Epcot and spent the remainder of our time in the World Showcase. DW and I loved the shows and events. We'd planned to just catch some fast food for our last meal, but decided that after all the wonderful dining experiences we'd had, we wanted to end the vacation right, so we walked up to the Rose and Crown and put our name on the list. As fate would have it, we got a table right up front, and had the perfect seat for Illuminations. The absolute best possible end to our vacation! :D

Thursday we got up, packed and headed out to the airport. After arriving home, we took our photos in to get them developed. We were shocked when we picked them up later in the day to find them totally destroyed. A WORD OF WARNING: the aircraft security scanners WILL destroy your pictures, especially if you use high speed film. We discovered the problem after talking with a photo shop about our pictures.

Fortunately, we have about 30 digital pictures and 2 hours of videotape to document our vacation! :D

All in all, this was the best vacation we've ever had, and now that we are DVC members, we are looking forward to many happy returns! Our current plans are to go back next year for Christmas and the Candlelight Processional....so we'll be watching your posts carefully the rest of this year! P&PD to you all, in the meantime!

I love test track......except when we broke down on the curve coming in......on our sides for ten minutes was not fun.......we did the CP last year and it was the most beautiful moment ......David hartman did the narration and he brought tears to my eyes.....and the music was outstanding......makes me want to go back.....thanks so much for your reports

I have really enjoyed reading your trip reports. I especially enjoyed the way you did the recaps for each day. So sorry to hear about your pictures. I wonder if there is anyway to avoid this, since they scan everything now.

Happy to hear that you had a safe trip home and wish you many more memories to come.:)

Doing the double digit dance!

About the pictures: we asked the folks at the photo shop how to avoid this problem. They sell a lead lined bag which will save the pictures. You carry it inside your carry on luggage and request they hand inspect it.

DEFINITELY do not leave film in your checked luggage. The picture guy said several professional photographers did so, and even with the lead lined bags, their film was wrecked. In addition, because the security folks needed to know what was in the bags (could be a b-o-m-b), they ripped apart their bags! DOH!

Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed my reports. I hope you all have a wonderful day! P&PD!

Yikes on the film! We took 3 roles of film on our last trip but kept them in our carry on. Thank Goodness!

It was a wonderful trip report and it sounds like you had a blast. Thanks for sharing!

And congratulations once again on your DVC Membership!

Sounds like you guys had a great time. Sorry to hear about the film. At least you were able to get some photos and video. Thanks for posting!

We're leaving day after tomorrow and will also be looking into DVC and Saratoga Springs. It's funny we live near the real Saratoga Springs and spend alot of time there in the summer months (especially August!!!)

I played golf at LBV this past February and got to see Saratoga Springs "villas" while under construction. I can't wait to see them all finished.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. :smooth:
