It was wonderful! We stayed at Congress Park. Villa 1127. It is a 2 bedroom with a view of Fulton's Crab House. We had 6 people (wife and myself, 4 and 6 yr old, and 2 18 yr olds) in our party, and there was plenty of room. It is probably one of the longer walks to the main pool, but buses came by the bus stop often to carry us to the main pool. The room was great. The only complaint was the heavy front door almost ripped my daughters toe nail off. Those front doors are the heavy kind you see on beach condos.

There were plenty of activities to do at SSR. We played goofy bingo and on Friday afternoon there was a pool party to celebrate the one year anniversary of the opening of SSR.

The bus service to all the parks were great. Never waited over 15 minutes for a bus.

Artist Palette was great! The flatbreads are wonderful and the breakfast omelets were great also. My son loved the mickey waffles.

The front desk staff members were great. They helped us with any request we made. We showed up at 7:00 am, and had us in our villa by 7:15 am.

If anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer.

Congratulations on your great trip! I stayed at SSR last August and my family loved it too!

I just got back last night from Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina using my DVC points. I had a 2-bedroom villa. It is AWESOME!

Now, get to work and book your next DVC vacation!

Sounds like you had a fabulous time! I can't wait for our upcoming trip in August...the first leg of it is at home at SSR. We have a 2 BR villa reserved also...it'll be our first time in a 2 BR. Our only other DVC trip so far has been in a studio for just DH and I. I can't wait to get into the accomodations that I truly bought DVC for! I have requested the new Springs building, but stayed in Congress Park last time and loved it...even though we didn't have a DD view.

Thanks for the trip report!

I am glad you had such a great time. I love to hear positive reports about SSR. Only one more week until our first visit home! I am so excited!!!

So glad you had a good time and enjoyed your stay at SSR.

One year already, wow, I had not given it much thought.

I hope we have as much luck this Thursday with getting a room early. Our flight lands at 8:00 A.M., and I am not really counting on anything until later in the day, but maybe some Magic will happen.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your 1st trip 'home'! I did, too!
Sounds like you had a wonderful view! I love Congress Park, isn't it pretty!
Goofy bingo sounds like fun! Don't think they had that when I was there. Do adults play , too , or just the kids? The pool party sounds fun, I had wondered to myself the other day if they did anything for SSR's 1st anni.
You had the same luck with the busses that I did, never had a problem :cool1:
Glad to hear you enjoyed Artists Palette. I had an omelet there almost every day :rotfl:
I also found the CM's to be very nice and helpful in answering any questions I had. :)

Athenna!

I thought you were the founding member of the Saratoga Stinks club! This kind of positive chatter does not further the cause of the club.

Somehow, I knew we'd here from you on this thread, kelly ;)

Keep up the good work kids, we'll have that resort to ourselves yet. Not that I want it. I hate that place!

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great stay at SSR! We love the flatbreads, too and have enjoyed our two stays at SSR thus far.

Can't wait to go back next year!

Thanks for the report!

We just came back from our first trip to SSR too! We really loved it (or should I say hated it?) ;)

We stayed in The Springs, room 3623, 2nd floor facing the lake. This was a view from our balcony:

Transportation was ok, but not great. Not that we let that bother us at all... in truth, the buses TO the parks were prompt and we hardly waited; the problem was the buses FROM the parks to the resort... but it really wasn't that bad.... the wait for the boat from DTD was really long...

We loved the studio and found it had plenty of storage space for a weekend stay. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the lake and fountain while drinking coffee in the morning (and sangria in the evening). We ate breakfast in the room and brought lunch for our day at TL, so the kitchenette was adequate for our needs.

We can't wait until Sept when we stay in a 1-br for 5 nights.
