This morning we were up bright and early for our Segway tour around the world
As it was early we decided to take the car to Epcot so that after the tour we could head off to the Florida Mall
Upon arriving at Epcot shortly after 8am we found the parking lot virtually empty and there were CMs at the turnstile gates asking for names to check you were allowed access into Epcot. Once our names were confirmed we were allowed into Epcot and I took the opportunity for a few quick pics.
We then headed off to guest relations to check in for our 8.30am tour. Whilst sitting and waiting we saw two guests come in with a wheelchair and one approached us, it was Steve aka Kimber05 (from another Disney chat board)
We had a brief chat and saw the rest of the family pass on their way to the Princess Storybook Breakfast. Kimber05 soon headed off to join the rest of the family and we were off for our Segways. After a short briefing it was time to learn how to use the Segway and then there was a little practice session before making our way to World Showcase. I must say it was a weird experience getting used to the balancing but once you had worked out how mush you needed to shift your weight it got a lot easier. It was so nice riding around an empty world showcase, although we did see Kimber05 once more, who got evidence we were on Segways
After a brief tour of each country as we went round we stopped in Italy for a breather and a photo opportunity.
By the time we got to the UK it was getting busier with guests entering through International Gateway and then it was time to make our way back to Innoventions where we had started and the tour was over. The tour was very interesting and using the Segways was entertaining, certainly something we would do again. Once we had handed the Segways back we headed off to the Land and got something to eat
A chocolate croissant and chocolate milk fitted the bill nicely as it was 10.30am.
As Epcot was getting busier we headed off to go shopping, but quickly had a wander over to World Showcase for a piccie or two.
On the way out behind Spaceship Earth I saw a small area to celebrate 25 years of Epcot.
First stop was the Prime outlets at the top of I Drive. I must say the new mall is looking very nice, much better than Belz was. I got some new Adidas trainers and t-shirts. It was then time to head over to the Florida Mall. We had a good wander round and as lunchtime was approaching headed to Ruby Tuesday, but shock and horror it was closed
But luckily a note in the door gave an opening time of 2pm
So we had another look around the other end of the mall. Macys was a must as Nathan wanted some more Lacoste shirts and he found two there he liked. We then headed back at 2pm to Ruby Tuesdays and it was just opening when we returned and we were immediately seated. Since our last visit it looked as if the restaurant had been refurbished as it was now quite plainly decorated in earthy tones, which was nice as it appeared to make the place look bigger. We both ordered the Premium Triple Prime Burger with cheddar - Fresh USDA Prime beef with prime tenderloin, prime rib eye and prime sirloin freshly ground, blended and grilled and salad bar, which is only a $2.99 add on and includes as many visits as you want
The salad bar had changed slightly from previous visits as there was very little fruit although the savoury salads were still plentiful. The burgers themselves tasted delicious and were soon eaten.
It was then time for more shopping at Bath and Bodyworks and Macys where I found some Crocs and the assistant informed me to go and collect the International Visitors discount card from Guest Services so we did that and I got 11% off my Crocs and Nathans bill was adjusted as well, which was really nice of the assistant to mention the card to us as it saved us a few $s
By the time we had finished at the mall it was getting late so we headed back to SSR and had a lazy evening in.
