 :surfweb: :cheer2: :hourglass This will be our first trip to Disney. I am planning the trip for Early August. I am planning on flying in and staying at the Disney Pop Century. We will have free transportation from the airport and then to DisneyWorld. What about the hotel? Does it have good pools? What about tickets? Where is the best place to purchase the tickets if I want to save some money! Also, any suggestions on money saving ideas would be appreciated!

Welcome, and here's a link to a Pop Century picture thread to get you started:

Here's a link to the Budget Board, since you've expressed an interest in that as well:

I'd suggest taking some serious computer time to explore the various forums here on the disboards. In addition to the budget board for money-saving ideas, there is a restaurants board to help you figure out where you want to eat, and a theme parks board for touring strategies. Etc., etc., etc.

I would also strongly recommend that you purchase either or both of Tour Guide Mike (www.tourguidemike.com) or the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. TGM is a disboards sponsor who has an Internet-based guide to WDW that includes strategies for maximizing your time in WDW. The UG is a book with an affiliated website; they've developed touring plans that many people use to tour the parks efficiently. Both guides have lots of information about hotels (on and off-site), restaurants, attractions, shows, etc.

Now is not too early to start your planning, and for many of us the planning is half of the fun.

Study! Study! The internet and all the books you can find. The better prepared you are the more fun you will have and you will be able to use your time to get the most out of your trip. You might also check the following web site: "www.allearsnet.com" for info. Enjoy. You will have a magical time.

When I first joined the DIS and Tour Guide Mike I swear I didn't sleep at all those nights! There was so much reading to do (and I had previously been to WDW at least 14 times and DL at least a dozen times!).

There are some phenomenal tips here......TONS of reading, it's a great way to get psyched up for your trip and get the excitement going!!!!

Have fun!!!

Can you go later in August and get the free dining, may be worth it. Buy the way Welcome to the DIS!
