We have our first family trip coming up on March 1st, 2014. There will be 3 adults, myself, my husband and husbands cousin. We will have children the ages of 17, 12, 9, 7 and our baby will be 6 months. Any tips on bringing a baby so young?

Use a good carrier. We took DD at 5 months and at that age they pretty much go with the flow. It was an easy trip.

I guess I should buy a carrier now and get him used to it. He is 4 months now and we have never used a carrier.

I would for sure try it now and see. Neither of my boys were fans. With so many older kids/adults, it should be easy and fun to take him. He can go on any ride without a height restriction and that is a lot! If you are nursing him, keep going.....much easier at the parks, and consider waiting till you are back to start solids. Pure nursing is the easiest trip to take. Have a good reclining stroller, and think through things like where he will sleep, baths etc.

So glad that there are so many rides that I can actually take him on. Was a little worried that I would be sitting out of alot with him.

He is on breastmilk at the moment but will most likely be strictly formula for our trip. He nursed for the first 3 days after he was born and then we found out he had 3 congenital heart defects and had to have open heart surgery. We are currently going through my stash of frozen milk but will run out within the next month. We were considering starting him on solids but like you suggested, it may be best to wait until after we get back from the trip.

We definitely have a good stroller. He sleeps in his crib at home and every so often (but not much) in our bed at home. I am thinking he will be ok in the crib they provide or the pack and play or whatever it is they let you borrow. We have a pack and play at home but I am not sure if it's worth taking up the space in the car to bring or if I should just use DW's.
