DS4/5, jr video game wiz, happy to have his 5th b-day at the Mouse House!
The plan is to leave for the airport at 4:15 a.m. At 3:30 I'm the only one up and I'm in the tub shaving my legs! Too Much Info I know! Do not do this at 3:30 A.M. with less than 4 hours sleep! I of course cut myself and am now sporting one of those tatoo type bandaids on my knee!
The boys are up at 4am, pre dressed in sweats and it's COLD BRRRR.... It's 4:15 and we are sitting in the van! OMG! I think a first time EVER we are ON time!
We get to ABE at 4:50 and there is a line, we drop off the luggage, hand the keys over to valet and proceed to drag all our stuff in! Most pple are dressed for warm weather but not us wackos! we have on heavy coats! note to self---leave them in the VAN next time!
We show our photo id's and the kids SS#, have our 3 suitcases and collaspable cooler checked and we head for the gate. Now they check our carry ons, the boys each have a backpack and I just have my carry on.
DS12 and I sit together in front of DS4/5 and DH and we take off! A little bumpy w/ some turbulance but nothing too bad. We arrive at SFB on time at 9:30. Get our bags and head for the exit. DANG! It's HOT here!! We've got our havy coats on our arms and the poor kids are in HEAVY sweats! I'm a fruitloop! Head over to National where DH goes in to get our car. I had reserved an intermediate for the one way trip for $40.99 and we are given the keys to a Chevy Malibu. Nice car, everything fits fine.
Make a stop at Publix where I get autograph books, fat pens, case of water and some snacks. DH hits Burger King and we eat in the car. IT takes us about 40 min to get to the gates of WDW and when we do I'm whooping and hollering and I reach over to blow the horn!! the crew looks at me like I've completely lost my mind!
We pull into CBR and I head in to check it. WOW there is a lineeeee here! Finally my turn and I tell the nice CM that I had faxed a building request 4 days prior. Yup she has it and we have Trinidad North just like I wanted. She asks me if there is a birthday and I look at her in surprise-Yes there is! DS 4 is gonna be 5 on Sunday! She asks who his favorite char is and I tell her Peter Pan! Thanks Debbie! You told them!!! I then ask about our Enight for the 25th and she informs me it's all sold out! Unreal! I get a little teary eyed but pull myself together and w/ room keys in hand I go find my crew.
We pull up to Trinidad North 31 and schlep it up the stairs, not bad actually got a parking lot view but who cares?? The room is nice-bigger then I thought. We unload the car, unpack a little, fill the cooler. change clothes and head to Old Port Royale. We find our quiet pool-only time we will see it the whole trip! We explore a little and head back to our room to call Mousekeeping for extra towels and a hair dryer. It's then time for us to take the car back to the Dolphin.
We pull up and valet taked the car and in we go! What a place! I could have gotten it for government rate but really it's NOT us.
National tells us to take the boat to Epcot and then the bus or monorail to the Contemp. We decide on the boat! Big mistake! I don't want to blow a day pass and the boat takes you right to the countries, no access to the bus/monorail...or so I'm told. Ok, back on the boat, get off at the Boardwalk and take the bus to Epcot. We then go up to the monorail and get in line about midway down. I look around and see a CM and I ask if it is possible to ride in the front. He tells me that no one else has asked him as nicely as I have and that we should go stand down at the far left side and he would remember me! My crew is all looking at me in bewilderment cause I made them get out of line. Trust me I say! The monorail pulls up and the doors open, the CM calls me over and I tell the crew to follow me! I over hear some of the people in front say that "They are riding up front!" Well I asked and we stand there as the CM explains that I ASKED! The looks on their faces are PRICELESS!!! My crew is in awe when they see where we are riding! The pilot gives us all co-pilot's license and my boys (all 3 of them) are beaming!!! Way to go MOM! Off we go! what a thrill that was, our pilot was wonderful, explaining everything and pointing things out. We get off at TTC to let someone else ride up front and hop on the resort monorail to the Contemp. We get there a little early for our PS so we do some walking around and I buy the boys each one of those Magical Moments Pins ($15.04 each!) Time for our PS, we get our photo taken and head upstairs. The first to show up is Minnie and she signs the books! first one! Chip n Dale show up and goof around with the boys. Now DS4/5 is terrified of costumes of any kind...Easter Bunny-Santa Claus...FORGET IT! Terrified! So who shows up next? Goofy! Now Goofy is BIG! and DS4/5 heads for under the table! Goofy pulls out the chair and looks under there and DS4/5 starts screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Ok maybe this wasn't such a good idea. Anyway the food is really good! DH loves the fish and the mashed potatoes! We eat A LOT! We buy our magnet pics on the way out.
We head outside for a quick smoke and a look see around we head back in and I of course forget where the observation deck is. We head over to guest services to inquire and are told 4th floor. Back up we go and head outside. There is no one there!! NO ONE! ok granted it's 6:30 but there isn't anyone out there. We walk over to the wall and there I catch my first glimpse of the Castle! I get goosebumps and DH thinks I'm cold! Yeah ok! The castle begins to change colors WOW! The music starts, we see a spot light on Tink and pple start to come out to join us! I'm just smiling away!
It's now time to hit the Poly and meet up with Rileygirl for the stroller swap! We walk around the lobby about 1/2 hour and finally I ask a CM at the desk if I have a message from her. I don't and she calls their room...we are lucky enough to have the same last name!...Shortly after Rileygirl walks up to us and she takes us to her room. It's nice, right on the water. We grab a coupe of lawn chairs and a table and the kids run around playing while we wait for the Electric Water Parade/pagent to start. Rileygirl pops a bottle of champagne and we toast to the swap. The parade begins and we ooohhh and ahhhh at the lights and the music...cute. It's getting late so Rileygirl walks us to the bus stop and we take a pic together and we're off for CBR.
I set the wake up call for 6:31 and we put on CNN, our remote isn't working so we go to sleep with the TV on.
