Our first dinner in a "country", Biergarten or Mitsokoshi?

We've never had a sit down dinner in an Epcot country! Which to choose for our upcoming..biergarten or Mitsokoshi? Its me, DH, DD12, DD10 and DD6...my kids love asian food, but we have been a few times to those types of restaurants where the chef cooks and performs..we like it alot, but would it be special? I have no idea if my kids would eat German food. Myself and my DH would be up for anything..the entertainment sounds neat..but what is this banquet seating? Do we all begin our meal at the same time as the others at our table, or do we join diners already in progress when it is time for our ADR's.. Which to choose? Probably just one dinner in Epcot this time..maybe 2 if you really convince me!!!

Japan is one of the very few Epcot places we have not been (the other is Morocco), so I cannot offer a critique. Germany's food is not to my liking, but my DH and kids enjoy it. Take a look at the menu for an idea of the offerings. Germany can be quite lively, but it helps to have a convivial group at your table (on my only visit, our tablemates were not too personable ).

Teppanyaki was very boring for us; our chef put on no show whatsoever. It was like a very, very toned-down version of Benihana. We loved Biergarten, on the other hand. The food was okay, but the oompah band makes for such a festive atmosphere, especially if you have kids. You are seated at a table for 8, so you'll have some tablemates. It doesn't matter if they're already eating, and you don't have to interact with them if you don't want to. By the way, you're also seated at tables for 8 in Teppanyaki, so you'll have tablemates there also.

We did the Biergarten on Christmas eve just before seeing jim caviezel. We thought the food was actually excellent (it's amazing they can keep the buffets so well stocked with so many people passing through there!). The variety was good, so if you're not that much into German food, you can still find things like chicken tenders or macaroni and cheese. Plus, I found that the German food wasn't that exotic tasting, the weenies tasted just like regular sausages or bratwurst. The apple strudel was excellent- I think I put a whole one away by myself but don't tell. So my vote is for you to do Biergarten. The entertainment is a lot of fun too!

I have been to Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki and it was okay. Our chef was not as lively as I expected. The food was good though. So if you've been to a Benihana type restaurant, then I would suggest you try something different - Biergarten.

Biergarten is my personal favorite. Japan was ok, but really no better than that Kobe place down hwy. 192. But they did give DW a neat paper chef's hat for her B-day.

We go to Japan's Teppanyaki restaurant every trip to the world. My kids are 12 and 14 and they love it as much as I do. I don't remember ever having a boring chef. We love it so much we are celebrating my nieces 18th BD there this year! I found the food to be much better that Kobe's(I was only there once, and I had a bad experience)
