Okay here it goes. Our first trip, 13 days, in Florida !!
I guess I will start with our intro's:
My name is Theresa
I am 40 years old and we live in Sonoma County California.
DH-Tim is 48,
DD- Danielle is 16,
DS- Patrick will be 15 on 12/15, and
Zachary is 9.
We are flying
on JetBlue (red eye flight
) from Oakland on 12/18 arriving in Fort Lauderdale 12/19 $2,169. RT (charge)
We will be staying at Holiday Inn Express from 12/19-12/22 and again from 12/29-12/30 - $0 (using points)
Renting a minivan from Thrifty 12 days, unlimited miles $603 (charge)
Fuel costs for trip estimating $130.
Food costs while in Fort Lauderdale (both coming and going) $200
While there we want to go to Deerfield Island Park and hike around
http://fl-deerfieldbeach2.civicplus.com/index.asp?NID=544 and cruise around on the water taxi's
http://www.watertaxi.com/FortLauderdale/FLLVirtualRide1.Asp family pass =$39
On the 22nd we will drive up to Kissimmee
and check into Orange Lake Resort http://www.orangelake.com/tour_our_resort/360_views.html from 12/22 - 12/29 [prepaid cost of my home resort yearly maint. fee $420 + RCI exchange fee $169 = $589]
I purchased my tickets from Undercover Tourist, using MouseSaver link, one a month to pay for them in cash. 4 day+ 2 free days total for 5 of us = $1,053.75
Our plan is to go to the parks that don't have EMH's and arrive at the parks at least an hour before opening. Epcot on 12/23, down day on 12/24, Animal Kingdom on
12/25, on 12/26 some of us may have a down day, (meaning DH if we had a Grumpy smilie I would use one here LOL) and some may go to Magic Kingdom [if we can get in], on 12/27 we go to MGM and 12/28 we may go back to Epcot. 12/29 we drive back to Fort Lauderdale.
ADR's
Epcot- Biergarten 12/23 $91. and MGM- 50's Prime Time Cafe 12/27 $62. for AK we will probably eat at Pizzafar, no reservations needed $35.00. Using Disney Bucks prepurchased to budget for this. The least amount of times DH needs to dig out his wallet the happier he is
I am planing on about $200 in grocery costs for breakfast in and bringing food into the park. I am going to pick up a backpack cooler from Target for this.http://www.target.com/IGLOO-Maxcold...15867?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k:cooler&page=1
I am budgeting about $300 for my mad money
to use in the park for ice creams and soveniers. The kids have been told that unless soda's are included in the meal it will be just water. I am packing food for our snacks and dinner. Since we will be eating lunch at a sit down service I am thinking that will be our "heavy" meal and we will pick through what I bring for the rest. DD and DS have jobs so they will also be bringing their own mad money.
We leave for home after a wonderful and memorable trip
ixiedust: on 12/30 to recoup until school starts back up again for us
on 1/8/2008
Eeww do I really want to do this part
grand total both prepaid and whats left to pay
$5,417.75
Update- Out of the above amount we have paid off $3,611.75 leaving $1,406.

Here is a picture of them.

Day and night I am thinking, reading and going over the details of our trip. What is planed. What is planed not to be planed. Obsessed!!!!!!
Still working on our planning binder. Getting a lot of really good ideas from the Parks & Strategies board.
Monday I am planing on shipping our gifts ahead of time so I don't have to deal with Christams gifts on the plane. I have never shipped stuff ahead of time before so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I am going to sprinkle some pixie dust on them, call the resort let them know to expect them and say a little prayer.

Any traffic tips for the drive to Kissimmee?
