Contiuation of our 13 day saga to the World!
DH (Patrick), ME (Jacquelyn) DS1 (Ryan), DS2 (Jonathan)
July 5th. Woke up on our own about 7:15. Today we packed more of the essentials.... neck Fans, Water bottle...uh...where was the 1/2 gal water jug at??? In the dish drainer at home! This ment a quick trip to Wal-mart to pick up another one. ArticZone makes one w/ a flip up spout. We filled this w/ Ice and Bottled drinking water and it would last us for the entire day. The 1/2 gallon size has a carry strap and is not too heavy or cumbersom to tote around all day. Picked up another sqeeze breeze for $5, cheaper than at home. Also found the pocket sized fans, COMPLETE W/ BATTERIES for $1 each. Got 4 of those!! They actually worked better in the park than the squeeze breeze. DH waited for BK to attempt to make breakfast (note: it is "burger" and not "breakfast" king). Got to the park about 9:30 and headed toward Tomorrowland. Used the 'fast passing" to do SM, BL, AO, and TTA by 11:30am, just in time for our character lunch at CP. Decked out in my best Tigger wear, we sampled the buffet while waiting for Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. Did get video and pics of meeting all the characters. The food was good (not great) but they had a pineapple coconut cole slaw that was to die for!! While we were in CP the rain deluge decided to hit, but it has let up some by the time we headed for Adventure Land. We toured the treehouse, got a FP for Jungle cruise, did POC and Tiki room, and the next rain delay hit while standing in line for Aladdin carpets complete w/ thunder and lighting. We took shelter under the queue house for Jungle cruise. We did bring fold up umbrellas, but these weren't very effective, so we decided to wait it out at JC. (NOTE: Tomorrow pack ponchos!) Got to speak with a couple of CM's, who also did a great job of keeping the kids entertained. After "resting" on the concrete for 2 hrs the rain let up some but JC had not reopened. We headed to FL to do CBJ, but DS1 saw folks riding on SM. No visible line so I took DS1 on it w/o a FP. BAD IDEA! All the "missed" FP's d/t the rain decided to ride then too, so a "short" line turned into a 45min wait. We THEN saw CBJ but I was too cold and wet to enjoy it much! Back to AL to ride the carpets and do JC. (had already gotten FP's for BTMR). Then to BTMR. Both DS's loved this one!
By now it was close to dinner time. We ate at Columbia Harbor House. I had a chicken salad, DH had tuna sandwich and DS's had kids meals and split a fish/chicken basket. I wish I had gotten the clam chowder in a bread bowl, it really looked good! We FP'ed HM, but the wait was relatively short anyway. A couple of kids tried to use a "not valid" FP to get in and the CM politely but firmly told them "no way". YEA for her! We had a "stop" during HM, but it was short. Got a FP to Peter Pan, and did Small World, LK, the carrousel and 30min wait for Dumbo prior to Peter Pan. We met a another GA family while in the Dumbo line. Another couple of kids tried to "break" in line, but I and 2 or 3 other parents advised them they had to wait in line like the rest of us!! They stood there for a couple of moments, then went back out of the line! We did Peter Pan, which was cute but not worth a normal 55min wait IMHO. Also did Snow White, but it was not very scarry for my DS's. By now it is close to 10pm and we head back to Wal-mart to p/u breakfast and lunch items, milk, bread, snacks. Fell into a exhausted sleep, to be ready for AK in the morning!!
