In a word.....WOW.:worship: I have seen many, many concerts in my 50 years and this one definitely ranked in the top 5. They played at Mohegan Sun in CT over the weekend. DH and I bought tickets the day they went on sale and I was super excited for months waiting for the day to come. As it turned out, DH had to work during the day on Sat., so as soon as he came home, we took off for Uncasville. I had tried to make dinner reservations all week to no avail, so we took our chances. I have never seen Mohegan Sun so crowded.:scared1: Every restaurant in the joint had lines out the door. We decided to try the bar at Michael Jordan's and caught a couple leaving. We stalked them until they left their seats, then jumped in. While we weren't crazy about eating dinner at the bar, we were both really in the mood for a steak and felt lucky to have even snagged these seats. We had the porterhouse for 2, lobster mashed potatoes and caesar salad. Everything was very, very good as was the service. Definitely :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for MJ's.

The show was scheduled to begin at 7:30 but actually started a little closer to 7:50-ish. No warm up band--just pure JT and Carole King. Her raspy voice seems to have gotten better with age and JT, well, he's JT. Always smooth, calming--just LOVE him! She looked fabulous for 68. While her face definitely had some wrinkles, she looked absolutely beautiful. They played all the favorites that brought me back to my teenage years as well as some that only a true fan would recognize. There was a 15 minute intermission and, after 2 encores, the show ended at around 10:30. I cried, I smiled, I sang along--everything good music should make you want to do. Truly moving. So....to anyone planning on seeing this show in the near future, you are in for a real treat. Enjoy!:hippie:

That's a show I'd love to go see!:thumbsup2 I'm a fan of both performers.

We've been to Mohegan Sun (and Foxwoods) quite a few times and love it there. We saw Ringo Starr perform at Mohegan Sun a few years ago, and also saw Jethro Tull. Both were terrific shows!

Sounds like you had a truly wonderful evening!:thumbsup2

We have tickets to see them in Wilkes Barre at the end of June. Can't wait! DH is a big JT fan and really wanted to see this concert but felt the tix were too expensive. The kids and I bought the tix for his birthday.

DH & I are seeing them this summer too! Can't wait. I keep playing their "Live at the Troubador" in the car.

Yes, Mohegan & Foxwoods are both very nice. I've come to the conclusion, however, that gambling is not for me. I NEVER win hence can't really find the pleasure in throwing my money away.

Aww, that's great. You will definitely be glad you bought them and so will he. Enjoy!

They'll be on The Today Show on Friday morning!!!
Thanks, I'll set my DVR.

Have a great time! Their show is also on PBS so it's been fun to "watch it" again.

I saw them on PBS.

I love Carole King. I loved that she didn't dye her hair. She is awesome.

I was at the Mohegan show on Saturday night as well! My mother's birthday was on Monday, so her best friend and I took her as a birthday gift. It was our 3rd time seeing Carole King and our 2nd seeing James Taylor. It really was a fabulous show; I particularly liked that it was "in the round."

The casino was exceptionally crowded that night. I've been to MANY concerts there and it seemed a lot more packed than usual. I still prefer it (and Foxwoods) to the XL Center, though!
