Hi all! our son is finally better, so here are the pics I promised
We arrived at the Fort around 11am and were given site 924, we had requested loop 800, but it was full. The Fort was very busy. My husband got us all hooked up at the site, and headed back to work. The kids and I unpacked and set up a few Easter decorations just in time for a big storm to roll thru. Our site was great, very shady, quiet, and backed up to the woods.

On Saturday we hung out around the site most of the morning while our son was searching for frogs, then went for a walk in the afternoon down to the settlement. It was very quiet at the settlement...these pic were taken about 2:30.

We walked back up to the Meadows TP to check it out...they were putting Easter baskets together to buy, they ranged from $35-$65.

The boys went fishing, caught a little bass out by the bike barn...then it was time for some burgers on the grill.

Easter Sunday was chilly and spitting rain... The bunny tried to hide eggs outside, but it was a little too cold, so he his them inside this year

After all the eggs were found and baskets were gone thru it was off on our bikes to the settlement for the candy scramble and character meet and greet!

When we arrived Mickey was the character, after he left, it was Thumper. The meet and greet was from 8:30-10:30.
The candy scramble was crazy! They had areas set up for different age groups:0-4, 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16. Tons of candy was laid out on the ground and hidden in each area of candy were 3 carrots, whoever found the carrots received a special prize (an Easter basket.) We were going to stay around for the photo scavenger hunt, but it was not for another hour, and since it was raining we headed back to our site. The afternoon Easter activities were all held at the pool, but it was way too cold for our Florida blood. The sun started to come out in the late afternoon. Our son was really looking forward to the great egg hunt at the campfire so we rode our bikes over there about 6pm. There were about 150 kids outside of the campfire area ready to get those eggs, the problem was, there were maybe 150 eggs. A lot of kids got 1 or 2, many, did not get any at all, we saw many upset children that evening. Chip and Dale were there for the egg hunt and picture taking.

The next morning was check out day, we did get a late check out. I told my husband it would be a great week to stay at the Fort, that Monday morning there were 10 campers in all of loop 900. There were a lot of check outs Sunday and Monday.
A great Easter at the Fort...now to try for a site over Halloween (fingers crossed!)
