Our DLH room is NOT bigger than ones at GCH

Someone said a plus for staying at the DLH over the GCH was that the rooms are bigger. Well, not ours! We're on the 11th floor of the Dreams tower & to get to our room, you have to enter a door that has both our room number on it, as well as the room next door. So that takes away some of the room we could have had inside our room. We have a king-sized bed and there's just enough room on each side of the bed. Only one chair at the desk (at the Grand, there have always been 2 chairs at the table.)

I miss the balcony! I miss the shorter walk to everything!

Just when you think you can hop the monorail - it's down! (again!) When will they get the new monorail up and running?

I have to say it: "I'm a hotel snob." Our next trip will be back at the Grand Californian!

Just wanted to say how very sad it makes me to hear the disappointment in your post. I hope the rest of your stay is fun for you.

*hugs* im sorry you arent happy i hope you have fun sending good vibes.

Some are bigger then others that's for sure. The one we had a few weeks ago was a really good size. Two queens, room for the table/chairs, and a day bed! So probably just depends on what you get. I'm so sorry you aren't happy with your room, I know how that feels. After all good things we had heard here, we were also disappointed with our stay at Hojo's. Well I hope the rest of your trip goes well, have fun!

If you are still there, call front desk and asked to be moved. Tell them the room is not what you thought you were getting and paid for.

This is what I was going to suggest. Disney wants their guests happy, and will do what they can to accomplish it.

Yup, you've got to get one of the rooms with a daybed in it. I believe they are the same price.

I'm sorry you are disappointed, I would have been as well.

We were in the Wonder tower on the 2nd floor/pool view and had a large room. Two queens, day bed, extra chair with an end table in the main part and a desk in an alcove area by the bathroom.

Are you staying in a single king room? I wonder if that is why, they expect only 2 people in the room and a family (of at least 4) in the 2 queen rooms?

I'm sorry too. We always had the corner room and that was huge!

One time we were supposed to get a smaller room and DH asked and we got the bigger one for the same price. You might as well try and if they are not booked, there really shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, give the front desk a call and very nicely express your disappointment and ask politely if they can possibly switch you. Usually they're really good about trying hard to make you happy! Good luck and enjoy the rest of your stay-- anyway, you're at Disneyland! That's awesome in itself! :thumbsup2

First of all - I apologize for my original post. I am grateful to go on vacation! I left on this vacation with a rather painful inflammation of my left foot and then developed a nasty blister on the right heel by yesterday. Most of my frustration was with the monorail being down too often. We have DVC & use points for our stays. We insisted on a king-sized bed and I agree, it limits the style room we can get.

So, now that I'm home, I agree: a slightly small room at the DLH sure beats being at home! We had a terrific vacation.

Welcome home and I'm glad your trip was good overall!

It's hard to be in a "good" mood when you're in pain, no matter where you are! Hope things get back to normal quickly!

Oh, foot troubles can really hurt your happy spirit! I started our park visits with feet full of blisters b/c of a bad shoe decision the night before, and it really took an effort to stay chipper and happy about everything. If it hadn't been for the fact that my being hobbled was making my son and husband's days more pleasant (usually I'm moving much faster, too fast for their taste) which then made my husband to tell me he's now a Disney fan and that he wanted to renew our APs and get me a Premium AP when we renew, I probably would have given up the chipper act! :goodvibes

Not getting the room you're expecting is never fun.

hugs* glade you had fun and oh ya foot pain welcoem to the club ive had it hurt my trips before. thats why im getting ECV. hope your blister goes away so whated you do whered you eat whated you ride?
