The cast is myself , DH, DS (8 yrs) and DS2 (3ys)
5/29
Lunch- SOG Evergreens
Myself, DS & DS2 had the Pepperoni pizza and it was awful definitely not something I would recommend, we also had chocolate milkshakes, which were ok.
DH ad the burger and fried, and he also said it was not something he would ever eat again.

Dinner- Concourse Steakhouse
Myself and DS had the filet mignon. It was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. A definite must do!
DS2 had pizza and since he is only 3 and he ate it I guess that is a good sign
DH had the prime rib which he liked, and that is saying something. He is hard to please.

5/30
Breakfast- Chef Mickey’s
This is our favorite restaurant. We come here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. The kids love the characters and there is something for everyone to eat, and it is always good.

Lunch- Tony’s Town Square
DH had the baked ziti, he said it was good. It looked more like lasagna too me.
I had spaghetti without meatballs. It was ok, not the best Italian food I have had, but I really like Italian food, so it is hard to please me.
Both kids had chicken tenders and fries; you will see this will be a staple of their diet.

Dinner-Whispering Canyon Café
Myself, DH and DS all had the NY Strip steak and it was great! We all also had the bottomless chocolate milkshakes and they are truly out of this world. We had Red rooster for our Waitress and she is a hoot! When DS2 dropped my milkshake on the floor and it shattered she yelled at me for putting it too close to him! (she was right). The kids loved the pony rides and DH getting a 2-quart soda and all the other antics!

5/31
Breakfast- O’hana’s Best Friend Breakfast
I have to say this is almost as good as Chef Mickey’s if there was more of a selection of foods it would have been better. But everything tasted delicious! The character interaction was terrific too!

Lunch- Liberty Tree Tavern
DH and I had the Old Glory Burgers and they were really good
DS2 was asleep and ate later.
DS had the Pot Roast and he said it was almost as good as mine! What a sweetheart!

Dinner- 1900 Park Fare
I have to say, this is not a favorite of mine the only reason I booked it was for the bread pudding! It is the most expensive and the selection, I just don’t think is very good. I guess if I had little girls it might have been better but the boys didn’t care for it at all.

6/1
Breakfast- SOG Garden Gallery
Well this buffet just doesn’t cut it after eating at Chef Mickey’s. The selection is ok, but the eggs were terrible. I think they were powdered. The make your own waffles were cool, but the boys liked the Mickey waffles better. But for the price you can’t beat it.

Lunch- Beaches n’ Cream
DH had cheeseburger and fries, which were great! I have grilled cheese and fries and it was ok. We shared onion rings and they are terrific! DS and DS2 had hotdogs and fries and they ate them so that was good. We also had chocolate milkshakes and DH had a sundae and all was very good.

Dinner- Mangino’s at SOG
DS, DS2 and I all had spaghetti and it was pretty good. DH had ravioli’s and he said they were OK not great. The menu here has definitely changed it is not the same as on the allearsnet site.

6/2
Breakfast- SOG Express Café
We all had donuts and milk, and all was ok.

Lunch- Coral Reef
DS and I had the grilled ny strip and both steaks were terrible.
DH had the Divers special but did not like the lobster soup or the Reuben sandwich.
This is somewhere we will never go again!

Dinner- Pinocchio’s Village Haus
We all had pepperoni pizza and sodas. It was ok for counter service.

6/3
Breakfast- Express Café at SOG
Again donuts and cereal.

Lunch- Sci Fi Theater
All I can say is GREAT! Everything is just terrific here.
DH and I had burgers and fries they were really good. We split onion rings and they are a definite must do! DS and DS2 had chicken tenders and fries and they are good. Not like the standard WDW chickens. We all had milkshakes and they are the best in WDW!

Dinner- Concourse Steakhouse
Again DS and I had the Filet Mignon and it was again terrific. DH had the Sirloin and he really like it. DS2 had pizza and it was pretty good. I have the Crème Brule, the top just tasted burnt but the bottom was really good. And the kids loved the Mickey brownies!

6/4
Breakfast- Chef Mickey’s
This is always a must do on the day we leave. It will always be our favorite place to say Hello and Goodbye to Mickey!

Well that is it for reviews; let me know if you have any questions.

Great reviews. Thanks.

You have me excited for the Concourse Steakhouse, which we are trying this August. I'm disappointed you didnt' like 1900. It is on our list. Now I'm second guessing. We will be at the Poly and were going to 1900 for the food, not the characters. Overall, how would you rate the food?

Thanks for sharing your reviews. Glad to hear you enjoyed Concourse Steakhouse, we're planning to try it on our next trip. :sunny:

1900 park fare is ok, but when you are paying that much for a resturant and then eating one of the pb&j sandwiches because nothing else looked appealing, it was a dissapointment. There was alot of what looked like oriental food (sorry not a fan) and the turkey and chicken had some really not so tasty sauces on them. The beef was ok, but not cooked well enough for me. The pasta was ok, but a bit too much veggies in it for me. We have eaten quite alot of places but this is one that I won't be trying again soon. Concourse steakhouse would be a 10 for me and this place about a 4.

Thanks so much for the dining reviews! Sorry to hear you did not have good food at Evergreens. We ate there back in 2000 and their burgers were terrific and the pizza pretty good, too.

I hope you don't mind a couple of SoG questions since we will be there in 16 days! Which section did you stay in? We will not have a car, and we plan to swim every day, so we asked for the original section as close to the lobby as possible so we wouldn't be too far from the bus stop. I would not have minded trying the new section, but it looks as if the walk to the pools from there is very long. Also, even though I know the rooms are the same size, in the pictures I've seen the older rooms still "look" bigger because of the short dividing walls (which the rooms in the new section do not have), at least to me. I realize this is just a request, so we'll see what we get! We'll just be happy being there...

Any other SoG tips? We haven't been there since 2000, pre-renovation. Thanks ~

We stayed in the new section on the third floor 3124. It was quite a walk to the pools but I didn't mind that because at night it was quite. Near the pools it can get a little noisy. I liked the rooms in the new section, they are very clean and I like the marble in the bathrooms. I didn't get to see the older section rooms. The whole place is very clean and very well kept. We usually too the bus, the schedule is pretty easy to follow. When we were eating at the poly we took the shady shuttle to the corner and walked the rest of the way, on the way back though we always took the bus. The walk back at night from the poly with two small kids can be a little too much.

The Fairy Godmother is sitting on a bench just near the where you check in, inside the dining room there is Cinderella, the Prince, perla the mouse and another mouse (I can't remember the name).
