We will be visiting with our almost 5 year old and birthday girl turning 3 on the trip December 2-7th with 5 park days and hoppers. Any tips would be helpful? Right now my plan sits at 1 day at Epcot, 1 day AK, Half a day at Hollywood, and 2 days MK. Our last day would be a shorter day for us to leave and drive home a little before getting a room somewhere for the night.

I think we will do AK a whole day with late safari and river of lights. Then day 2 Epcot. This is Birthday day! I've read rumors there will be an Elsa and Annah meet and greet( my youngest loves frozen) there with the new Frozen ride. (If we could see them at Epcot my 5 year old could fast pass rapunzel at mk) Maybe Akershus for a princess birthday breakfast, dinner at Teppdan Edo?

Here is where I am questioning what I want to do.

Options 1 Day three Hollywood sleep in and chill around the resort then finish with an afternoon at Hollywood for Minnie's holiday done with fatasmic package show. Then last two days at magic Kingdom. One of those nights will be a short night because we don't plan to attend the mvmcp.

Option 2 Do day 3 and 4 at MK for 2 full days (rather than having to leave park early to get a jump on driving home) and our last day at Hollywood for a short day but miss Fantasmic show.

Hi OP! I'm going around the same time as you with my almost 3 year old DS at that time. I would guess it would depend how your kids would handle Fantasmic and how much you would like to do at MK. Personally, I would do option 2 because I can see my kid enjoying more attractions at MK and I'm still not sure if he can sit still for F!. Whichever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a great time! :)

I am thinking the very same thing. I have had multiple people tell me 3 may be too young. And after a long day at a park getting her to sit still may be a challenge. Plus I may be a little greedy but I want as much MK time as I can get. Another question Tough to be a Bug. I had a friend whose 4 year old loved it but had multiple people on forums say probably not.

My DD is 4 now and she enjoyed Fantasmic at age 2 & 4 - not afraid at all. But it's tough to be a bug would freak her out - it's 3D and that does not work for her.

Not to completely mess up your two options, but how much are you & your family into Christmas theming? I ask because there are a lot of special activities at Epcot during the holidays that my daughter has loves. We can easily spend a day and half to 2 days seeing the storytellers and the Christmas music. Now that the lights aren't at DHS, I would consider skipping it altogether. Or perhaps having a swing day that if you are done with MK or Epcot do DHS but if you feel like there is a lot more that you want to do at MK or Epcot check that out.

I am going around the same time (Dec 6-13) with my DH, DD3 and DS5 and I think that having one day at MK being a short day is actually not a bad plan since usually the crowd levels on these days are crazy low and you can get through quite a bit in one day. As far as Fantasmic goes, we went in October last year when DD was 2 and after a long day of going on rides, she was really good about just playing with her light sticks (good idea to bring a bunch instead of buying them there) so I would say it depends on your kids personalities whether or not they can sit for a while. HS for a 1/2 day isn't a bad option though since there is less for younger kids due to height restrictions on rides. If your DD loves Frozen, the Frozen show at HS was really great, and my DD loved it at 2 years old (sat with eyes glued). A PP mentioned A Bug's Life not being a good idea, but I have not had this issue with my kids (although my DS went on ToT and loved it at 4, so he may be a little bit of a daredevil). Again, depends on your kiddos. Hope you have a good trip!

Maybe I am missing something, but based on your plans I do not see you utilizing your hopper. If this is the case can just get tickets without the hopper and save some $$. We are AP holders and we still rarely hop between parks and if this is your 1st trip, you will really not need it. As for Fantasmic, we had 1 DD that we had to leave during the show and the other DD "sort of" liked it. the problem is now when we say lets go see Fantasmic they both still say no:laughing:
