After breakfast at Cindys DH went back to the front to get our stroller. I was going to take the kids on the carosel and we got in line but then Katie (3) freaked out & refused to go on the horse even though she just said she wanted to go on the ride. Then Julie (2) started to cry because she couldnt go on b/c Katie wouldnt. So I took them over to Snow White and we rode that instead (which I think is much scarier than the carosel, but Katie likes that ride and has been on it before). Then we played in the Cinderella fountain and finally DH arrived with our double stroller (which cost $15 a day to rent!).
Normally I just bring our two umbrella strollers, but DH kept complaining that he didnt want to be unfolding & refolding two strollers all day long. The double one was convenient b/c both kids fit in there comfortably and was good for naps and all of our stuff, BUT isnt $15 a day a little excessive! Shouldnt Disney give you a break if youre going to be there all week and charge a $50 weekly rental fee? I am going to email Disney this idea because it just irks me that I could have bought a double stroller for what I paid in stroller rental fees. OK, sorry about that temporary rant.
We went and got a fastpass for the Peter Pan ride and went to go ride the Carosel, which Katie agreed to finally go on with her Daddy. She cried until the ride started and then she loved it. Her crying made Julie also start to cry but I got on the horse with Julie and then she was OK. We went on the carosel again because Katie told us it was her new favorite ride. No crying the second time around. Next we went on Its a Small World because there was no wait.
We still had 10 minutes to use our fast pass for Peter Pan so I took the girls in Tinker Bells Treasures to look for Tinkerbell. We found Tinkerbell and spent $50 on Princess hats for the girls. Katie got a satin fuschia pointy hat with a veil that had Cinderella, Snow White and Princess Aurora on the top, and Julie wanted the pink Minnie pointy hat with sequins, a veil and velvet Minnie Mouse ears on the sides. Julies hat was a little big for her, but didnt totally cover her eyes. She didnt take it off all day! I couldnt even get her to take it off to pay for it I had to go get another one for the cast member to ring up. She looked so cute too! People kept stopping us all day and pointing at the cute little girl in the big Princess hat and all the cast members at each ride told the girls what cute little princesses they were. They got a kick out of it and so did we.
So we finally rode Peter Pan. Its a good ride but shorter than I remember. Good thing we didnt wait in the standby line. The girls thought it was really cool to be flying over NeverLand and seeing Tinkerbell.
Next was The Haunted Mansion my personal favorite ride. Katie has been begging to go on this ride for months. I think she just wanted to go on because she knows its Mommys favorite, because when we all got in line she looked a little scared and kept asking if there were ghosts in the house. We told her there were but they were all nice ones. I love the new tombstone outside for Madame Leota! It is so freaky! For those of you who havent seen it, it looks like a tombstone with Madame Leotas face carved on it but if you keep staring at it it will wink at you! And by the time you turn around to tell somebody it looks like a normal carving again. We captured the winking on video! The ride was enjoyable as usual and the kids enjoyed it once they were inside the protective Doom Buggies.

At the beginning of the ride, while you are in the lobby of the Mansion, make sure to look up when the lights go out. I have never done this and was surprised to see somebody hanging from a noose. We looked for the fabled ring which is supposed to be in the pavement after you leave the ride outside and could not find it again! Oh well, theres always next time. I cannot wait until the Haunted Mansion movie comes out! I hope they stick to the original story that Walt created when he created the Mansion. I have high hopes since Pirates of the Caribbean was so good. Isnt Johnny Depp awesome in that movie?! His character was absolutely hilarious. If you havent seen it yet I highly recommend it!
Next we stopped to get Silouhettes done of Katie and Julie at a cart right outside of the Mansion. The cast member who did them did a spectacular job and completely freehand with scissors dont remember his name but he was very talented. I will post a picture of their silouhettes! It cost $7.00 and is a great souvenoir. It is more if you decide to purchase the frames ($7 per frame).
We walked through Adventureland and got harassed by a safari reject guy who we think was a castmember. He looked like he just got kicked out of the Adventurers Club. He was funny and blew some bubbles for the kids and tried to stop us from leaving his land! We told him wed be back later.
We headed toward Tomorrowland and went to Cosmic Rays for lunch. We rode the teacups first b/c no line. Lunch was good and cheap (burgers & fries), plus you get to listen to the animitronic dj alien dude play showtunes. We looked for the talking garbage cans but didnt see any? The girls danced during lunch and came to the table once in a while to get a French fry.
Next we went over to Mickeys Toontown fair to see Mickey and Minnies houses. We took our picture with Mickey and played in the playground for awhile. Katie went on the Goofy Barnstormer with her Daddy and loved it.
In Tomorrowland we rode Buzz Lightyear twice and DH beat me by a landslide both time. I just dont get how he gets 100,000 points? Someone help me! We also went on the Tommorowland Transit Authority so we could look at Space Mountain at least. Oh well, the kids will be old enough to ride in a couple of years. Yes, I know we could do baby swap but it is no fun to ride by yourself it just isnt!
We got caught in the rain right before the parade. The kids were dry in their stroller, but DH & I were getting soaked and still 15 minutes to go. We decided to give up our coveted spot and seek dry shelter in Adventureland until the parade started. Luckily, a very nice family let our kids go to the front when we returned. My faith in people has been restored after our bad parade experience at Animal Kingdom the day before (where old lady in the big hat cut right in front of DH & Katie). Thank you nice family at the Magic Kingdom! All the characters had raincoats on or umbrellas in hand, and all the globes were steaming up from the humidity this was kind of amusing. Right after the parade the weather cleared up and it was once again 85 degrees and sunny.
We headed back towards Adventureland and rode the magic carpets and the Jungle Cruise. I forgot how funny the CMs are on this ride! I think I saw more animals there than in the Animal Kingdom yesterday (just kidding). We also did Pirates of the Carribean (DHs favorite ride). And my new favorite movie!
And then it was time to go! No time for the Tiki Birds but we did squeeze in one more magic carpet ride (Katies favorite). I hate that the Magic Kingdom closes so early now. We also caught the end of the Cinderellas Surprise Celebration. The kids wanted balloons. Julie got a Mickey/Minnie one and Katie got the new Tinkerbell balloon which is $2.00 more but much bigger. I think I liked it more than Katie.
I didnt realize how tired I was until I got on the boat back to the Ticket & Transportation Center. We picked up pizza on the way home and collapsed at the hotel. Tomorrow is MGM!
We stayed at the Wellesley Inn & Suites by the Florida Mall. I was mildly irritated b/c they did not clean our room. DH called the front desk and they advised they only clean your room once for a 5 night stay, twice for a seven night! Hmmm, they never mentioned that when I booked the reservation. They said they would clean tomorrow. Fine Im too tired to argue. Note to self next time make sure the suite hotel you book has daily maid service.
