Our daughter started her DCP!

Our daughter did the CP Jan - May of 2012. She worked in the Emporium. That year we went to Disney 4 times when she was in the program and a 5th after she was done but she didn't go. She was burned out.

Can I ask what the discount is for the resorts?
Who can use it and how much is the discount? DD had her phone interview 3 weeks ago and should hear if she got accepted any minute now. ......DH and I already have a dvc reservation for Oct but if we can get a good discount at a moderate resort we may use the Oct points for our March trip instead.

It's been a few years since we used the CM discount for a resort room, but it seems like it was around 40-50%. It may have changed, perhaps someone here knows the current rate. There are also periods where the merchandise discount is substantial--50% or more, but that may also have changed over the past few years.

My son just got offered the College Program today. He still has another interview for Professional Internships next week.

My son was offered Fall Advantage on Friday. He will arrive on May 26th. His plan is to try to extend and then come back and finish his degree. After that he wants to do the Professional Internship as well. Let me know how it goes for your son. I did not realize you could apply for both at the same time. His major will be video productions with a minor in graphic design.

Congratulations to your son! I am anxious to talk to my daughter in person to really know how well she likes the program. It is hard to tell over the phone. I am sure even if she does not pursue a PI even having the DCP on her resume will help in her future.

That sounds wonderful! We live so far away that I am happy to even be able to visit once during her program. Besides we were down in December for a week. Of course that trip was planned 11 months in advance which was before she had even applied for the DCP.

Congrats. My daughter did both the regular college intern program and just finished up the professional intern program. She did appy to stay on after the professional as when she started back in June she was told they'd be hiring 6 out of 25 interns in her field. Turned out they hired none of them.

What program was she an intern?

My son's start date is May 18 for the CP, but he is really hoping for the PI. He graduates from LSU on May 15. Quick turnaround for him.

She had a great experience and loves Disney. We have visited her many times!! It was probably the best thing she ever did in terms of both her career and personal development. My son wanted to start the 18th, but there was just no way to make it work. He graduates form Junior College on the 15th. My husband and I have to film dance recitals all day the 16th and 17th. There was no way we could drive him there in time. One of us will drive with him...he has never driven that distance before. Then we will fly back and leave him with a vehicle. Not sure who is more excited...
