yes that pic is fantastic! SOO pretty! :thumbsup2 I'm still jealous that we didn't get those pretty lights on the castle last year :guilty:

not to hijack your thread

Hijack on sister!!

Those are GREAT photos...and EVERYTHING you said I think we did also...be sure and look for me in the background of your pics :rotfl: ...sitting on the bridge of the exit of the Old Mill Scream used to be one of our faves....I remember sloshing around there several days.....The Grizzly was my FAVE ride...and I would wait the 2 hours to ride it :woohoo: ...and then go get on the swings to cool off :cold: ....so many fun times

I found a few pics also :upsidedow

Same pic but your 'country' wheel was much prettier painted....I remember when they did that
Opryland79.jpg

And those Balls!!!! Oh how they must have been NASTY...I can believe we even played in those things :crowded:
OprylandBalls.jpg

Another funny thing....the outfit I have on here in the same one I wore my first time in Disney....maybe it was my favorite :lmao:

Ok guys....sorry for the :offtopic: Opryland talk.....a Disney update is coming SOON!!!!! :rolleyes1....just SO many good memories :rolleyes:

You Tennessee gals are taking me waaaay back in time with the Opryland talk, and especially the pictures. The Old Mill Scream was brave livin' back in the day of hightop Reeboks! Grizzly River Rampage was so much fun, too.

I did NOT spit on the floor of Opry Mills. I had a hundred third graders and assorted chaperones with me. I didn't want to be the headline on the evening news : "Metro Teacher Arrested for Defacing Property" or some such thing! I enjoy Opry Mills - it's better than Rivergate - but I do wish it hadn't taken over the entire Opryland park. It would have been nice to be able to have salvaged some of Opryland and we could have had a few rides and a smaller mall.

By the way, just in case anyone wants to know what MeMom will be doing one week from right now (and I just know you are all wondering that), I'll be in Magic Kingdom!!! Okay, there'll be fifty-seven thousand other people there with me, but it'll be okay. We're mostly going on this trip to watch the CP, see all the Christmas stuff in World Showcase, and do some resort hopping, and other than that, whatever we get to do is a bonus.

~It's fun isn't it :goodvibes

~~Oh why not :lmao: ....I try to shop there as little or NOT as I can :furious: ...but I'll agree it's better than Rivergate

~~~and the 3rd thing....I don't want to hear about it :rotfl:....or can I just come get in your suitcases??? :yay:
Update coming guys....I PROMISE!!!
OK....I kept my promise and now on with day TWO :flower3: ....Resorts, Epcot and my FAVORITE meal of the trip!!!
We slept in some and didn't have an ADR until 6:10 so we hung out at the resort for awhile this morning and then drove to the Beach Club.....enjoyed their decorations for awhile and then went to find the international gateway!!
I actually have never been in or out of Epcot through the IG....I will definitely use it again.....we actually drove more on this trip than I ever have....and it was great driving to an Epcot resort and just walking there....I didn't realize how short of a walk it is.
Here's some pics of the gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club
It was BEAUTIFUL.....I can't believe it's made of things you can EAT!
The only pic I took from the Beach Club to Epcot....such a beautiful area
P1020666.jpg
We walked around the UK and Canada pavilions and made our way to Soarin'.....we got fast passes....went to Journey of Imagination (which was hubby's FAVORITE :lmao: ) and the Seas to try and find the dolphins that I would go see in a few days....more on that later
Soarin' was wonderful.....it was a very easy, smooth, FUN ride and I LOVE flying so it was a great sensation for me.....but the way they pipe in the smells to go with what you are seeing is awesome!
Here's a pic of hubby's most favorite area...HA:rotfl:HA....actually we just thought it was cool b/c it was a backwards fountain, and I happened to catch the monorail....very cool!
Here's a pic of Epcot's Tree
P1020671.jpg
We had a little time to kill before our ADR so we headed back to Canada to see their St Nick and then go check in for our dinner at LeCELLIER!!!!!!!!!!
P1020677.jpg
we only saw one more of the story tellers....but this guy was very good....he was really funny and included most all of the kids....very entertaining to listen to
It's time...........Yummmmmmmmmm
P1020681.jpg
This dinner was SO good!!!!! I ordered the mussels, Mushroom Filet, and the Cream Brulee.....it was ALL WONDERFUL!! Hubby got the Cheddar Soup, a MASSIVE NY Strip, and we ordered a chocolate moose to go.....He's SO cute!! I had to take this pic b/c of his cuteness and a friend of mine that is from Canada I told hubby I had to send it to her
P1020682.jpg
We were so miserable when we left there we just went to the front of the park and walked around.....
P1020685.jpg
P1020697.jpg
Watched the dancing fountains and the lights dance in front of the Christmas tree
And then we headed back for Illuminations.....
After all the traveling of Epcot I was pretty tired.....
BTW the only crazy thing that happened to me on the trip was my knee was KILLING me, I guess from trudging around AK and MK all day before....it hurt me pretty bad for about 3-4 days and finally quit....thank goodness
But we were exhausted when we got back to the room and we prob. felt like my Moose I carried around all night :sad2:
P1020728.jpg
Needless to say....it went in the trash....and I went in the bed
Love your trip report. We were there the 10th to the 15th. Loved Le Cellier also. Best meal of the trip. Would you be willing to email you castle at night photo? We were never at magic kingdom at night and I would love to put it in my daughters scrapbook. It is an incredible photo. Look forward to more. If I find the time I might post a short TR. I'm waiting for photopass photos to download while I read this. Thanks for posting.
Hey I'm all caught up! LOVE LOVE LOVE your pics!!!! They are wonderful! I felt as if I was seeing the castle for the first time!!! Wasn't it awesome?!!!!
Thanks for the pic of the chocolate carosel. I didnt get a chance to see that. OH! I missed Illuminations too. Funny how your plans change when your feet and legs are in charge!!!!
Looking forward to more!
:wave:
I'm caught up, and I LOVE the pics & memories of Opryland! My df's family is from Joelton/Ashland City area, so we summered there a LOT when I was a kid, and I LOVED Opryland! Especially loved the Little Deuce Coupe...we made my cousin SO SICK spinning him around on that one...
We were in WDW from the 8th-14th, as well, but as we were with the kids, all our meals were character/themed, I am loving hearing about the restaurants I didn't make it to, gives me ammo for planning another trip!:rotfl:
You're pic from the BC is beautiful! We will have some extra time on our trip in March so I'm hoping to do a little resort hopping myself.
sorry about your moose! The same thing happened to us with dessert we tried to take back to the resort. It was so unrecognizeable by the time we got back it didn't look appetizing anymore and it went the way of your moose!
Loving your pics and report! Keep 'em coming!!
I love all your pics! Espeacially the ones of the castle!:goodvibes
I got a good laugh over your dh in his short shorts and tube socks!:lmao:
