Hi all.
I thought I would do a quick highs/not so highs report on our Christmas surprise trip!
We went on Sunday 18th December and came back on Wednesday 21st, staying at the New York Hotel. We had booked this months ago and managed to keep it a secret from the kids which was a feat in itself! We literally told them the day before! I had got a personalised card from Moonpig with all the details in and some new Disney PJ's, Disney magazine and a personalised t-shirt (iron on transfer from e-bay, Goofy and Rapunzel) to give them both. They were so excited if a little in shock, especially my son!
Highs
New York Hotel just looked amazing with all the Christmas trees and lights, it had the wow factor when we walked in.
Fantillusion is my biggest highlight, always brings a lump to my throat!
My daughter meeting Rapunzel, she made a real fuss of her and loved her personalised t-shirt!
My son and daughter meeting Mickey and Duffy, again they made a real fuss of the kids and at one point Duffy was hugging my daughter so tight he wouldn't let her go!
My daughter having her first ride on BTM, I'm sure she had an adrenalin rush!
My son managing to go on Autopia, this is one of his favourite rides and the queues were too big last time we went.
The Disney Village looked more Christmassy then the last Christmas trip we went on and had a good atmosphere.
Being one of the first in the park for EMH, love it!
Not so highs!
Having to queue for 1hr35min to meet Santa, for some reason they have changed the meet and greet at Woodys roundup, it use to be one of the best set ups so I don't know why they changed it.
We also had family a few places behind us and after an hour decided to leave the queue, turning up 5 minutes later with a CM who let them go next to see Santa, as you can imagine this didn't go down well with everyone in the queue, I would love to know what story they told the CM! But on a positive the kids loved meeting Santa.
Another queue! This time 1hr20min to meet Rapunzel, not much fun in the cold and drizzle, but it was also a high when my daughter did get to meet her.
I wasn't very happy with a CM in the Princess Pavilion, we had a young couple in front of us (no kids) and the CM whispered in their ear which 2 princesses were there and let them choose who they wanted to see, he called myself and my daughter first and we met Tiana, which was lovely but my daughter had met her last time we went, on the way out we noticed Cinderella was the other princess and in our 6 trips my daughter has never met Cinderella, so I was quite cross about that because if the CM hadn't had told this couple we would've been next to meet to Cinderella, I did actually complain and say it wasn't fair but the CM I spoke to wasn't interested and said to complain at City Hall.
This isn't so much a low but I did email a chancer email explaining this was our 6th visit and also a surprise visit for out twins and was hoping something special could be organised, but sadly nothing was done, I wasn't hoping for much, just a bag of chocolate coins and the kids would've loved that!
Overall, we had a great time
,yes, it was busy but we knew it would be, it didn't stop us from doing everything we wanted to do though.
Not sure when our next trip will be now, we keep contemplating Florida, but I'm not sure how the kids would cope with the flight!
Thanks for reading
