My husband and I are being treated to our trip this August by our best friend, who is celebrating his birthday the day we arrive. Totally exciting, right?
Well. My husband has lupus, and as a result developed aplastic anemia (meaning his body simply does not produce blood cells of any kind) and the only way to treat aplastic anemia is a marrow transplant. Marrow is incredibly hard to match, and the most difficult marrow to match belongs to those of eastern European Jewish descent, and of course, my husband is among the chosen people.
Anyway. We got the news on Tuesday.
THEY FOUND HIM A MATCH!
So shortly after our trip, he goes into he big hospital bubble to prepare for the transplant. And we thought this trip couldn't get any more
